We're still planning to publish the December Crown Store Showcase this week (likely on Wednesday); it will be a separate article, though.

Thanks for the info. I am glad it will be a separate article, but wish that the good showcase was coming first before the other thing with the name I no longer wish to speak.

Ok guys. So what do we have here:
1) Last Zone (Gold Coast, Dark Brotherhood) was introduced on PC 6-7 month ago. Next Update is Housing without DLC, probably January (?) so the gap beetween new zones will be almost a year.
2) Last ESO Live show was in August.
3) Almost no news and communications from devs.
4) CROWN CRATES are here.
So the new era began? People are talking about no content in future because of crates, but in fact we don't have it right now.
P.S. Yeah, i know, Shadows of the Hist. What a joke to call this a DLC.
P.S.S. I believe we've got almost everything what startet to be developed even before game release. And now we will have big problems with new contant, especially if they focus on crates.

And I guarantee a month from now you'll be deep sea diving in search of your manhood to try and get it reattached.
That may be the best comment I've ever seen on this forum.
I second this. I won't do it. I will not. And some people really ought to be careful what assumptions and guarantees they throw out on a forum.
I am not in any way attracted to the Crown Crates at all. Even if the return rate was higher - much higher - I wouldn't waste my RL money on them. They are solely designed to get your money. That's it. There is no artistic development, there's no story, there's no design, it's just a garbage way to get your money.
But the number of people who think crown crates are a good idea makes me wonder how much longer I'll be playing this game.
A lot of the players who do buy the crates won't be wasting their RL money on them either. Subscribers get a lot of crowns and nothing much to spend them on given that they also get the DLCs thrown in. For some of them the crates may be a fun way of using some of those crowns.

Consider if the items that were in the gambling boxes were suddenly on the Crown Store, though. They'd still have something to spend their Crowns on, unless you're implying that the items would go unused and the only utility the product had to offer was the cheap thrill of opening. It's almost like you could remove the gambling part of this entirely and just have a bunch of excellent products sold at fixed costs.
Well, this sucks.
I guess I don't have much to say. I've said it over and over and over again.. in these forums and through the videos I put on youtube that I didn't even want to do after day 2 since I was so disgusted with them.

Thats a bit unfair really.
Rewriting craglorn, one tamriel scaling along with all the armour sets (broken ones aside) is hardly something you can bang out in 5 minutes.
Many on the forum were complaining for months they couldnt play with people and wanted scaling.
They complained dungeons were too easy.
They complained world bosses were a face roll.
Undaunted, fighters, mages guild dailies to keep you busy.
ZOS gave them exactly what they dreamed of.
Perhaps PvP will receive the same kind of love with the balance update.
Who knows.

I couldn't agree more, I just have no words. Given how the community has pretty comprehensively rejected these things I would have thought ZOS would cancel them entirely, there has to be a better way to improve income.

If they put the Crown Store Showcase up first, people will talk about it for a bit and then go back to talking about the Crown Crates when their article is put up.
By putting the Crown Crates article up first, at least some people will start to talk about the Crown Store Showcase when it comes out. They can bite our hands off first and then blow us a kiss.

No. We will be talking about how we are getting the shaft in December because what we really want is in the Crown Crates.
Upon seeing the shinies in the Crown Crates, some may falter. Not me. I intend to be a lifetime member of the I've-Never-Bought-A-Crown-Crate Club. Let the new players, who have never known an ESO before Crown Crates, call me an old fool for not spending my money on such a common and normal thing.

Haha exactly. But we all know why that won't happen, don't we? People thought some of these exclusive mounts and costumes were too expensive already. Thread after thread about how 2k crowns was way too much. I see some of those people are thrilled at the idea of getting lucky with a crown crate now. I wonder if they realize the crate is designed so that the vast majority will spend ungodly amounts until that mount they want drops. Give it a few months, 2k crowns will seem like chump change compared to what you have to throw at these to get anything good.
Aye. If only.Recremen wrote:...It's almost like you could remove the gambling part of this entirely and just have a bunch of excellent products sold at fixed costs.
@ZOS_GinaBruno
I think crates at a minimum should meet these requirements still:
- Full discloser on drop rates - this is RNG with real money
- Only themed items should be exclusive to the crates - nothing like the “Black Mane Lion”, Elk Mount, etc being exclusive to the Atronach Crate

Scrap the limited edition, limited time, yours-only-on-the-first-Thursday-of-the-month availability nonsense and let's have a Crown Store crammed full of items. Lots and lots of choice for players old and new. Then let us decide whether the products that we see in front of us grab our interest, seem affordable, or present something we are prepared to pay for.

Well, their 'reworking of some of the contents' was at the time of the discovery of the Crown Crate XP scrolls and we already know now, their answer to those was to introduce into the live game the Mythic ambrosia recipes. So to me it seems obvious their goals concerning Crown Crates are pretty much set and to try and make them more acceptable in the game they are changing items in the game instead of changing the Crate contents.
Sorry, its no suprise , seen it all before, the very same strategies and also silence in other games I have played who coincidentally at the time employed the same person ZoS has recently, its for me Deja-vu and sad thing is these were the reasons I left those other games.
Personally and looking at it from a business point of view Crates will be here before Xmas, I expect early December, it is the most profitable time of year for these kind of items to be available and I doubt very much a company would miss such a big opportunity for a big influx of revenue for zero outlay, which is what the Crates are all about.
Well due to your knowledge and given your experiences with other games you have played that implemented this same garbo. What are your thoughts on their (reworking of some of the contents)?
Its already changed so many times since they were first announced as 'Purely Cosmetic' (just like they were also advertised in other games), they also said they would contain random Consumables that were already available in game.
There is a link on Reddit to a video of their announcement, and already they are still not live yet so much as been changed (contrary to what they originally stated), all I can say is wait till there in the game and keep an eye out for more 'special' Crown Crate consumables and at the same time the in game equivalents seem to become rare.
It does not matter what they do, what they say they are going to do, seen and heard it all before, I know exactly where these are heading in the end and I'm sure there are many other players on the forums who know and have experience if this too.
I will have to check that video out for sure. Thank you for your feedback btw. These(special) consumables you mention, do you think, maybe perhaps would you be alluding to anything p2w. Like putting tempers and such in these crates?
All I can say, is think of it from their point of view, they said at first it would be mounts and rare pets etc, cosmetics, but things like those are, for most, one time purchases.
If you want people to keep buying a box of items you have to put in it items that they want or items that they need to progress.... so yeah once they are in the game, its pretty much fair game for anything to 'appear' in the crates, ALL they have to do is say there is an equivalent in the game, whether anybody actually ever see's this 'equivalent' is another matter, THEY say it is there
I am not saying it is going to go this way, but they are laying the foundations to make it very possible and very easy to do.
everything you have said as yet is very true indeed, and now with their announcement that they will be releasing these THIS WEEK: OMG however I wonder if the latter part of what you say ever comes to fruition i.e if they put wax, temps, etc in the crates if people will be accepting of them. Does make me wonder though, I have noticed the decrease of drop rates of such items in-game. btw sorry for the late response

Yes, I was starting to think they had dropped them in face of the massive criticism. I even bought crowns again, and was considering restarting the sub on my second account. Guess I won't do any of that again.
Evasion: Casting this ability and its morphs now requires that you wear 5 pieces of Medium Armor.
