Tell us when Crown Crates are being released (Announced)

I stopped playing over a month ago now while I wait for new content, though I'll pop back for the New Life Festival. Cancelled my sub and given these are going in this week I have no desire to renew it.

Horrible choice of an addition to the game, having tested them on the PTS I disliked them then, even if they changed them with the feedback it won't change my opinion. They should never be introduced.

Odd how nearly every response to my post seems to imply that I think continuing to support the game financially in other ways is going to stop the deterioration of the game, which I don't think is a valid interpretation of my words. I don't think we can stop the process. I do think that cutting off funds from sources other than Crates speeds it up, though.

Well, it is about time that they make a decision, I need to free space on my hard drive and I am not likely to stay with these crown crates - haven't played since long and not going to either, did as well not buy Dishonered 2, same Zenimax family. This is the last opportunity for them to back off from scam, if they don't, so be it - never again a Zenimax product, screw them.

The decision to utilize "soft" gambling as a money-making mechanism for ESO has been made. I do not believe my continued subscription, nor anyone else's, will have ANY effect on any potential outcome. And no, I don't believe my continued sub will slow anything down. As I said in my post, it will only result in additional profit to the company.

And even if I did believe it, I will not continue to pay for my sub if I'm not getting any enjoyment from the game, just to postpone an inevitable consequence for the benefit of someone else. So yes, I read your statement, I understood it clearly, and I still disagree with it.

Look, I love this game. I've said easily a dozen times on this forum. My sub had not been canceled and I will continue to pay it as long as I enjoy this game. But why I love this game has everything to do with the world created by Bethesda and little to do with the game created by Zenimax. There is so much about this game that has become unenjoyable for me. Their revenue raising methods will just be one more item on a rapidly growing list.

And this is not about the moral high ground for me (this is not directed at you, @MasterSpatula). This is about an economic decision made by a company whose in-game RNG already has clearly identified problems. Moreover, even if they "disclose" the drop rate, whose to say they can't "adjust" it later? The problems they have had with the Aetheric Cipher alone is enough to warrant distrust and discourage participation.

If other players want to spend their money on these crates, that's their business, but I will never invest good money (and yes my sub fees - and the crowns I get with them - are still good money) on these crates.

So yes, the message I'm getting from Zenimax is that my sub will never change or even slow the direction this company is going. I was hopeful at one time it would. Clearly, I was wrong. I now sub for my own enjoyment and when that enjoyment is gone, I will be, too.

You can still stay and enjoy the game. I've put money into the game. I've never felt for a moment that anyone at ZOS appreciates me as a customer. I'm just a number to them. An upsell target. So I'll just appreciate what I already have in the game while I have access to it.

And every time I even think about giving ZOS any more money, I'll just visit heatherpowers.com and immediately feel better about not giving ZOS money. To best your enemy, you must know your enemy.

Bonus points if you kind of get the feeling that ZOS still has no idea who they're dealing with even after 10 months on the Bethesda payroll. I'm not going to stand for it. Because she's not just behind the crates. She's behind a whole lot more. She is going to break them and while they clean up the pieces, she'll already be leeching off yet another company or marriage counseling client to pay her health insurance and medical bills.

ZOS will be like wah conspiracy theory. That's not a conspiracy theory. That's her Go Fund Me summary.

I somewhat expect to start getting Housing information next week. Not loading it up on PTS, but at least a start.

The problem is that we don't get something really nice, we get a chance to risk money at the prospect of something really nice. You know what would actually be really nice? If the items were available for direct purchase, like everything else in the Crown Store. Gambling boxes are a bad service that encourage bad behavior, and the better alternative is incredibly obvious to everyone.

My decision stands on not purchasing the crown crates, no matter what the article says, they will not suddenly become monumentally interesting to me.

I know that some people are going to buy a bunch and put out videos. It will be interesting to see them from a variety of people.

And I wonder what will be happening in the forums tomorrow after people read the article. And again after release.

I've been speaking to a Developer of a game who has been raising money to finish it. The campaign ended and only just enough was raised to complete the game. Everyone who donated is rewarded someway or another and are kept in touch frequently, despite that fact it's only a small company.

Those are the people who will get my money (Also I'm excited as poop because I may be getting development access!)

The article? The one that's going to be hashed out by some PR person and then copy pasted to the forums? It will be filled with promises of what they won't do with the crates and what they will do with the crates. Try to make it sounding as positive as they can but in 4-6 months from now everything that will be posted tomorrow will be thrown out the window.

The article on crown crown crates will need to be a massive improvement over what was on pts for me to continue to support the game.

I'm not hopeful about that so I need to look for another silver lining in crown crates. I guess I might be able to free up a considerable portion of my PS4 hard drive.
