Changes to Low pop bonus

Since the low population bonus only effects the score, and if you dont have enough people to get a keep, its pointless. Instead how about double the combat stats of the effected alliance? Or install a High pop debuff and reduce the stats of the alliance who conistntly has a higher pop? Make it OP so that players even themselves out, instead of everyone just joining one alliance.

Buffs like these are a bad way to balance population. The only way to go about it is dynamic population caps and designing the game to make losing fun (you don't want people to get run over 60v10 while they are already losing, they need to still find the fights fun while unsuccessfully defending their keeps). Buffs aren't the answer though - the game just needs to be well balanced on a large scale to still make fights enjoyable.

Any combat buff is a terrible idea, it will just get abused the hell out of. Personally I think they should remove weapon/spell dmg from scrolls also.

Dynamic pop caps would be ideal, but even within the last few months I recall a moderator specifically saying it is harder to implement then we are assuming so "tough titties" (direct quote) it won't happen.

I always liked the idea of the "enemy keep bonuses" working in reverse, you get less xp and AP the more you dominate.

That would be interesting but that would open a new way to exploit the mechanics. Wonder if they will ever actually implement anything close to resolving the pop inequalities.

But the people trying to exploit the mechanic will either occupy a lot of enemies or take a lot of keeps, thus encouraging exactly what should be encouraged for low pop alliance.

Went to my first PvP campaign on PC (EU, Trueflame), only to see my alliance getting run over time after time after time (EP). Often in a green alliance between blue and yellow. You know what, it's not really fun never having even a fighting chance to win a campaign, and always being pushed back to your last 2 keeps.

So I moved on, doing the non-CP campaign was fun, (Azura) at least you actually have a chance to kill people there, as not everyone is mitigating half your damage through CPs. However, low pop bonus was heavily exploited by the DC alliance. You know what, it kind of sucks having PVP'ed heavily in a campaign, owning pretty much all of the map most of the time, and still see your alliance losing the campaign due to low pop mechanism abuse. Like porting in friends from other campaigns, leaving thw campaign at strategic times etc.

So I moved on again, this time to a small and pretty much dead campaign. Sure it's dead most of the time, sure the minute EP got ahead in points, DC and AD pretty much just gave up and abandoned it. But it's the first time in my ESO pvp time that we actually stand to win a campaign.

So what I do is keep this as my home campaign for the end rewards, while having a guest campaign in Trueflame for when I need more action and farm AP.

Bottom line is the current system isn't working. Low pop bonus can be abused the hell out of (as it is in Azura), and the minute one alliance is going ahead in one of the smaller campaign, everyone leaves it (can't blame them I did so myself).

We don't need more low pop bonus mechanisms that can be abused even further. Instead we need mechanisms that don't favour this extreme segregation between populations. On PC EU, forcing some of the people out of Trueflame and into the smaller campaigns would be a start. And also better for lag I'm sure.
Hell, I know many of us EP would have stayed on Azura if DC weren't abusing the crabs out of the low pop bonus. Actually removing that bonus would have made us stick around that campaign instead.

Well then how about more npc's? and maybe give npc's the combat boost? or maybe mount a couple npc's using counter seige at a certain point? im not sure how possible that last one is, but it would be cool I think for maybe the 2 gate keeps?

When does the suggested buff wear off OP?

As soon as the lower pop faction gets enough to make it even? Hmmm...(I wouldn't do this, but it's what would happen)..Winning faction logs in a bunch of alts so that lower pop factions' buff goes away. Yeah, it's like that. With some people in this game. Sad but true =(

You could make it consistent. If people log on with alts it wears off, but as soon as they leave and go back to their home faction, the buff applies itself again. I doubt it would be as hard as dynamic pop locks, which they said wont happen, but could be a nice incentive to change factions.

Introducing dedric prince favors! While losing a campaign dedric princes will randomly give out quests to losing players, this will give them a delve/boss to kill quest (with a time limit). You then obtain a dedric artifact for a limited time. The severity of loss = how many Dedric artifacts in play. Artifacts give you a locked skill bar and give you fixed stats.
