    castle????

    castle????

i don't want a castle... i want a shack on a beach. with a fishing hole and crafting stations and a garden.

and somewhere for my big cat mount.

and..... erm, perhaps that bit would be considered inappropriate.

Ah...If only that fit one of the racial styles...!

I also wouldn't mind a place in Glenumbra but I'm really not fond of Breton housing style. I'd be much more interested in one of the circular hag houses. Or maybe one of the many abandoned towers or lighthouses. :) Wishful thinking, but I hope they consider homes that are more of a hideout than a large family home.

I like that actually, something like 'claim yer own bandit cave" :) Hopefully something like OBLIVION's "VILE LAIR" will become available.

More seriously, given the fact that Rawl'kha is shopping mall of Tamriel, I am thinking about places in Reaper's March, not including the one above. I am particularly thinking along the lines of the one in S'ren-ja (http://en.uesp.net/wiki/File:ON-place-S'ren-ja_House.jpg) since it is far enough from Rawl'kha be away from the mall crowds while not as far as the one in Dune.

    "toast" LOL!

Am I wrong for just wanting to BMX the hell outta that?

Yeah it's possible that the "largest" Altmeri one hasn't been added yet, as the one in Mathiisen does seem to be smaller than the other large ones. The large Breton (the castle near Daggerfall), Khajiiti (near S'ren-ja), and Colovian (near Arenthia) ones particularly look like they'd be good as guildhalls for player guilds, and the Mathiisen one doesn't really seem to match those.

I really do hope there will be player homes in DLC zones, I'd pay good amount of crowns for a mansion or apparent in Orsinium. My Orc is a city Orc, not a stronghold Orc, after all.

A house on the Gold Coast would be perfect for my Imperial as well.

I'm also hoping for class specific homes, such as assassin homes or mages home, though I'm willing to bet they will introduce homes like that as stand alone crown store purchases later on.

Check the Bosmeri one out if you can, Northwest of Cormount. It is really secluded and we can't see much, but it looks pretty big in there too.

What it looks like the "castles" have in common is the large courtyard, which the Mathiisen one seemingly lacks, unless it is on the back of it and we just can't see it from outside.

If they are going to add a bigger house to Auridon, I hope it is near Skywatch. I love that city so much! Ideally, I would like it to be near Firsthold, but ZOS would have to repair the city first. Maybe one day we will have some changes being made to existing maps like that, rebuilding cities and such, since with One Tamriel old maps are relevant to higher level people again.

But now I'm just rambling. Did you see the Stonefalls one near Ebonheart? It's not only huge, it looks like an evil lair!

Khajiit she is interested yes. Is the castle within easy travel distance of The Rosy Lion?

This one she is torn between wanting to live at The Rosy Lion itself and wanting an impressive home somewhere a little warmer and with more sand.

This one she wonders also will her apprentices be able to purchase their own homes or will they all have to live under the paws of Santie? This is a significant consideration for the sort of place khajiit may wish to settle yes.

    Yours with paws
    Santie Claws

So is it safe to assume that when you have non Khajiit guests over, you will be wearing a flea collar? And no hair balls to step in?

I know that there was some datamining, and some homes cost crowns, some cost in game gold.

I'm going to be the first of the economy class to say 5k crowns seems a bit much... Looks cool haven't seen the interior yet, but for being a stone wall thus far I'm not about to price it past 2k... Or a 5k alliance house pack.

Even Elam Drals finds Rivenspire depressing. But the main quest line is really great. That and the Reaper's March final quest are my favorite ones in the base game.

Why must ZOS make me love a character, and then take them from me? What is this, a TellTale game?

We do not know, but we expect there will be a "hook" to get people to buy them. Crafting stations are requested, and while I think this is generally a bad idea (especially if it includes set crafting stations), my feeling is that ZOS considers crafting to be a non-essential side distraction. If it includes the expenditure of Crowns, it is virtually assured.

Although I can't help but feeling sad every time I go to Rivenspire (I don't think I'll get over Verandis) :(
Rivenspire might have been my favorite zone storyline of the original 16 zones... I'd love to get a home somewhere there.

Yeah, but Rivenspire is not exactly the Garden of Eden. I am not sure I would really want to spend a lot of time there.

Even Elam Drals finds Rivenspire depressing. But the main quest line is really great. That and the Reaper's March final quest are my favorite ones in the base game.

Why must ZOS make me love a character, and then take them from me? What is this, a TellTale game?
It could be worse: Joss Whedon could be creating the storylines, and then we'd all be constantly crying about the sudden unexpected (often senseless) loss of beloved characters...

Gah, I could go on but now I'm depressed.

Can someone just explain me quick what does it mean the houses are "instanced"? Im a noob to those things and dont want to make a thread just for that...does it mean that there will be a house somewhere and everybody can reach to the gate but once you enter its like entering a "solo quest"?

I was checking out all the houses yesterday (from afar of course). Each faction has at least one huge house/estate. EP's is just outside Ebonheart (Stonefalls) and AD's in Matheson (Auridon). All are huge.

I saw the one in Mathiisen, but it seems to be rather small in comparison to the Reaper's March and the Stonefalls ones, looking from outside.

The one in Stonefalls looks amazing.

You're right the AD one seems a bit smaller than DC's and EP's. That Stonefalls one does look amazing and from the outside the biggest as well.

I found a house north of Bankorai that seems to be about the size of the Mathiisen one. They are probably on the same tier, while the Glenumbra and the Stonefalls big ones are most likely a tier above.

By the way... No Orc longhouse so far. I would like to see one in Wrothgar, so I hope ZOS has plans of adding houses to DLC areas too. I would be happy with one anywhere near my Orc's original clan (Morkul).

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.
