Could we increase maximum guild limit?

I don't understand people who complain that having more than one Guild means that people aren't loyal to their Guilds. I belong to a social Guild, a PvP Guild, two trading Guilds, and a small private Guild with friends.

I've been in two of these Guilds since the first day of pre-release, two more since mid-2014, and the last one for about nine months.

I would love to be in more Guilds. I'd like to be in a French-speaking Guild in an attempt to get my horrible French slightly less horrible. I'd like to be in a Trials progression Guild. I'd like to be in an LGBT social Guild. I'd like to be in another PvP Guild for a different Alliance and server. But I can't, because we're limited to five.

    I don't understand this either...
Even with the 5 guild limt, there have been times ingame where I feel horrible that I'm forced to leave a guild i've been with for a long time (but isn't any longer active & could still be saved) in order to add one that is more active& larger to my list.
I believe the opposite is true, the guild cap of 5 actually prevents you to be loyal to guilds who are dying because leaving one of the 5 rather inactive guilds is the only way if you want to expand your social network,if rarely anyone logs on in that guild you've been with for a long time.I believe 10 or so should be the cap

Can't those who request 1 guild limit see how much they'd shoot themselves in the foot?
Socially, thats like building a wall around yourself.
while we should be able to connect with more people, not less (so we need an increase of the max guild cap)
1 guild limit would cause even more guild hopping and dilemma.

PvE/PvP Guilds: I've seen so many "More Space 'x' Guild" (legitimately named as such) and they claim keeps in PvP. Not a big deal, but I think it's a bit ridiculous. I'd hazard a guess most full guilds don't have 100% active members. I feel it's the responsibility of guildmasters to do clean ups of non-active members to make room for more people. If, however, the guild is full then I feel it should be a case of one in when one leaves situation.

Trading Guilds: Despite being a member of two guilds that require gold each week, I don't agree with this method. I feel if you're actively selling then the guild cut should suffice. If all members are actively selling then enough money should be made.

If there was a way to actively search for Guilds to request to join then I think that would help a great deal too.

    Just my opinion though!

ZOS have had this asked before, as well increasing the member limits for guilds. They've been nixed as a logistical issue in relation to server performance

    They have server performance issues?

I'd like this as well...a recuiting board where leaders can write a message so players get an idea if they'd want to join.
Maybe the guild leader could set up a form of questions to get to know the ones a bit who request to join.
If the one who wants to join finds it unacceptable or stupid questions they can cancel the join.
If the guild leader doesn't like the form filled by the requester he/she could decline.
    Just some ideas about it

Exactly  Plus they can mention that there is a required fee each month so the person can decide if that's something they want to commit to. Guild info if often only found out after you join.

    2. geman pvp guild
    3. pve progression raid guild
    4. german pve raid guild
    5. trading guild
and I'd love to join a dueling guild as well as an international pvp guild.

I maybe be wrong now but is not PvE progression guild and PvE raid guild bascially same typ of guild both is focus on PvE for in all my life i been playing MMO PvE progression and PvE raid is same typ of guild both are try to progress in PvE.

The problem is that 99% of all people playing will only join trader guild i have small guild and we have try to get new member into guild but most of them stay for 1 day then just leave for we are no trader guild. We are try to get a social guild where we are focus on PvE thing and dungeon run and help each other but it is like people dont care about thing like that anymore.

@Wolfshead I would be interested if youre PC NA and is not required to be cp160+ with all gold gear etc.. My name is same as here- Vulsahdaal if you could send invite?
I am currently in a trade guild that I am very happy with and so have no reason to find another merchant guild*, and my other guild is more of a social one and has fun events, but we dont do dungeons, trials etc.. It sounds like it could be fun

    * On topic with thread, Im really not sure why more than 5 guilds would be needed? One trade guild, one social guild, then perhaps a PVE guild and a PVP guild as well and you still have an extra slot for another trade guild (if youre a really big seller) or another of any of the other guilds depending what you enjoy most.
What I often wish for though is not another trade guild, but I wouldnt mind extra sales slots on current trade guilds, even just 10 extra making it 40 slots would be nice..

What's this about Guild Loyalty? What's Loyalty?

I just go to the bank and deposit stuff to my different guilds (2 in EU and 2 in NA) and sometimes donate some funds.

    Is that wrong?

Always afraid to use my guild to group. They're too good! Don't want to make them look bad. :(

There is a place, the "Guild Recruitment" section of the main forum page. (All the way at the bottom). I have gotten several new members from this and you can read about a guild and what they do and what they are about before joining.
As far as the "Application" idea, I only do this for our guild website, and it is just for general info about the player.

@Vulsahdaal , We are NA/PC guild and love new players to veterans. Our only requirement is to have fun, and would be happy to have you if you are still wanting a new guild. You can read more about us here.

personally I dislike the guild recruitment section on the forum
as it looks disheveled and it doesn't make it easier at all to find a guild.
Plagued by double posts and " looking for's " with maybe 1 or 2 guilds here and there that might be cool(if they are not burried under messages that are not helpful to you at all...)
Its not enjoyful to browse the recruitment section.
While I believe ingame it could be more to the point, easy and fun
Ingame the 'looking for" would vanish with the introduction of forms/application.
A guild could only put itselves on the board once( 1 message/guild only)
& have to update their recruitment form if they want to change it.(pretty much like guild message)
Or perhaps the recruitment could also link to the location of the guildstore( if the guild has a guildstore, players could ask the merchant of that guildstore for directions where they can fill the application form)

perhaps there could be a content pack that allows a guild to go on a mobile recruiting tour with banners and all that..
maybe something to add to my topic about content packs for organizing guild events

Sadly, yes. I have 2 Trader guilds, 2 progression raid guilds and 1 friend guild. Realistically, i wish i had one more spot for a pvp guild since i like do organized and competent small group pvp rather than lfg in Cyrodiil.

Paying for an extra guild slot would be a welcome option imo.
Skye Cloude - Sorc DPS, Master Crafter. Main, the bestest
Lae Lenne - Templar Healer Trial grade.
Dromede - Stamina Nightblade, she's a newb and doesn't know what she's doing
V'oghatta - Stamplar pretending to be a tank
Ulville Thonvella - aspiring Fire Mage, be careful around her fire sticks!
Dromedaris - lost and not found. Named after a shoe, what else can you expect from her? A proper tank in her wildest dreams
Swims-Naked - too pretty to grind, too silly to quest.
Sun Flair - Dunmer Templar that can't spell for life. To bad she's too broke to afford a name change... Well, at least she's pretty...

I would like to see them separate the trading/commerce and more traditional guild functions. They could create Trader "Unions" for example and let you have membership in a specific number of these, and then a smaller limit of more traditional guilds (like 1 or 2 maybe). This would bring back some of the more traditional features that people expect from an organized guild (loyalty, guilds functions, voice chat, etc), and still allow players to belong to many trade/commerce groups that are more unstructured with the focus on trading.

I'd actually prefer they lower the limit. Let me sell more things per guild so I don't feel the need for multiple trade guilds for a start.

I'd like to have more than my 5 guilds.

    Atm I'm in:

-My social guild of real life friends, wich I know much longer then Eso exists.
    - 2 vet trading and pug raid guilds.
    - 1 casual trading and pve guild
    - a social german trading guild that I lead.

I don't get all your loyality argument. Personally I'm part of all my guilds for years! Same is true for many other posters here.

I really like to see 10 guilds, so I could join one argonian rp guild and a pvp guild.

Otherwise I would love to be able to create community chat channels, with and without privacy settings.
This way our guild alliances could interact much better.
EU - PC - Ebonheart Pact
Iggy Grabmoore - Argonian Magicka Templar | Nyctasha - Redguard Stamina Nightblade
Do-Ra'Zhar - Khajiit Stamina DK | Ashmedi - Dunmer Magicka DK
Vanya Darchow - AD Altmer Magicka Sorc | Malek gro'Kash - Orc Stam Sorc
GM of "Handelshaus von Riften" - Trading & PvX Community

Agree. OP can quit one guild. I guarantee he isn't doing much sigh at least one guild. They probably won't notice he left outside of checking who let and joined the guild if he is running with 5 guilds total.

More importantly, OP didn't think much of some of his guilds if he is a member of that many and wants to join more.
