Yes!! ZOS, make class change a thing.
my biggest problem though is how skill lines will be leveled, if it starts at 1 again then might as well start a new character.

Its also easier now to rerol with the removal of vet ranks.

I still think it should be an option, however it must be done smartly

Why are people so lazy. This game is just getting dumbed down to casual status. Leveling a character is extremely easy now so these threads are just mind boggling.

I don't want classes so things get easier. I just want more than 4 classes and 12 class skill lines interchangeable. No matter how deep the 4 are, it is mind-numbing re-rolling repeating the same story.

Yes!! ZOS, make class change a thing.
There are two things that require pointing out when talking about class changes.

    1. Classes are tied tightly to their skill lines. A class change would reset those skills and probably refund the skill points spent on them... but it can never make up for the lost experience points. Your class skill lines would all basically be reset to level 1, which means you'd be very weak and vulnerable during the time when you're leveling those skill lines. Unless you rely on weapons skills, this will be a huge drawback that makes class changes extremely complicated to balance.

Here is the fallacy to your argument......what if I'm a magkica player and change to stamina? OH LOOKIE, I'm leveling a new batch of skills! This happened to me...I went from full magicka to a full DW/Bow build and had TWO bars full of brand new skills to level! and guess what....I MANAGED JUST FINE.

Just don't expect to be doing trails or PvPing for a few days. Really no different than leveling a new character except it takes much less time.

Plus this could be JUST like being a vampire and curing yourself. Those skills could be there so if you decided to change back, the skills would still be leveled, just just have to re-invest back into them.
    3. You have eight character slots by default. You should be able to make a character from each class... twice. If you want to play a different class, why not just roll a new character of that class? Yes, you have to level them, but see point one... you have to level the class skills anyway, and it is probably more feasible to level class skills with the character.

So yeah, I can see why class changes aren't really something the devs are considering right now.

Why? Because many of us LIKE our characters and have a LOT more time invested in; achievements, fully leveled mounts, crafting, guild skills, PvP skills, world skills, etc. than simply leveling new class skills. I have only ONE "do everything" character and even if I had 10 other characters, I have zero desire to do all yjsy I have done even one more time.

So YES, there are excellent reasons to add class change.

No, I do not want a class change, if I wanted a new character of a different class, I would just make it... I would love an alliance change though, because one of my characters made questionable decisions in life, and I believe she should be able to follow her heart and join her friends in the dominion, or else she will be forced to spend eternity stood at elden root stables, feeding her horse and contemplating her vast mistakes in life

while I am personally very fine with my class (stam DK), I believe there are people, who aren`t and would want to change it to some other class. People talk about 'how easy it is to level a skill/skill line' but they DO NOT know what it's like to level a skill line when you're facing CP160 enemies and the only class skills you have are fresh single-digit skills. Even when One Tamriel comes out, people will be battle-leveled based upon CP... which means exactly what I said, facing CP160 enemies with ZERO leveled class skills. Now the ONLY saving grace would be if you've leveled your weapon, because those will remain leveled... so you'd basically be 100% dependent upon your weapon skills while only having a couple of class skills on your bar to level them through enemy kill XP.

While I'm not saying it would be impossible, but it would be very time consuming, and for those who already have poor combat skills, they would be on the forums crying that a class reset should come with maxed skill lines.

Yes I do, I have done it several times, with 1 daily and a few other quests you will be weapon skill 20-25 in 20mins. Just today I leveled from Light armor skill line 2-47 in 2 hours of playing.

Some people don't have the time to level more than one character effectively. Personally, I'm lucky to get more than 6 hours in a week. Even power leveling takes a while. For the more casual gamer, I think it would be a good change to see what the other classes have to offer and try it all out for yourself on one character rather than having to level all those characters by re-playing all the content.

*Ahem* And now little boys and girls, a story from Aesop:

"Driven by hunger, a fox tried to reach some grapes hanging high on the vine but was unable to, although he leaped with all his strength. As he went away, the fox remarked 'Oh, you aren't even ripe yet! I don't need any sour grapes.'

Moral: People who speak disparagingly of things that they cannot attain would do well to apply this story to themselves."

Yes!! ZOS, make class change a thing.
    Yes for class change.

Reasons? ZOS change class skills and class balance on a whim. The build you set out to make, which would have been decent and viable endgame, suddenly isn't any more, because the game changes so rapidly. Not only that, ZOS also seems to change flavour and feel of the classes. Had I been stamina DK last patch, I would probably have quit the game. I play a magicka DK and Dunmer, my entire build is based on fire, I have bought a fire pet and a fire horse from the crown store, and to suddenly have that changed to some kind of poison spitter would completely have ruined my experience in the game. At least being able to change my class would have amended this somewhat.

So why not make alts, people say. Well, have you ever considered the immense time an effort I have invested in my character? Everything from having all motifs learned (which cost a fortune), having 96 % of all achievements done (some of these would be a real pain to redo), titles, costumes unlocked, and not to mention the personality you've poured into your character while playing hours on end with your mates.
Simply making a new character from scratch is not an option if you're a completionist like me. At least with a class change available, I would be able to dodge some of the most stupid changes/nerfs/whatever that ZOS throws at me, while still retaining my old character and all her achievements and progress, albeit in another class.

Considering that you can change race and everything else now, I'm really surprised class change isn't an option. Having account-wide achievements and motifs would be another option.

Class change is better than faction change. Because for faction, we have to grind and get those titles "Grand overlord",again. Also, it will be toxic gameplay, if everyone could switch factions on the fly.

Precisely. People will just jump to winning factions all the time.
I don't know what One Tamriel will have in store for us pvp-wise, but we won't really need factions once the pve-barriers are lifted, thus rendering faction-change useless.

Of course we should get classes change ! I mean, look at the state of the game, seriously : leveling a new character to the maximum level (50) is soooo hard, it takes at least 2 days, including sleep time, meals and toilet breaks... so yeah, classe change is absolutely necessary !

No, seriously... I can't believe someone actually asked for that. We already got race change, wich is a total absurdity. Ideas like that are on the same level of ridiculous as the nerf requests that are already killing the game ("ye but iz two hard lel")

It may only take 2 days if someone has the tenacity, time, and will to do so. It can take someone like me about 5 days or 10 levels a day before I'm tired from grinding so much. I wanna do other stuff or have to do other stuff. And let's not forget if you put a lot of work into a character, i.e. horse training, crafting, guild lines, achievements, etc., and you aren't happy with the class you chose after awhile, you should have the choice to change it. Not a cheap choice, tho. I'd say class change tokens should cost more than race change ones.

That is what I want to see open up all the class skills, that would make the game exciting and play my way...

And if Your way would be the best You would see milion players playing the same way. That's the biggest problem of totally ,,play the way You want" mechanic. It works in single player games but in MMO soon You would realize that build diversity is even smaller then now , because there would be few certain setups that are the best. Creating classes force You to create setups based in the 1st place around things that class offers so not everyone is able to repeat this.

OMG 5 Days to lvl up a new main, jeez this is soooooooo long for an MMO. Too much grind ! Unbelievable... I hope you were joking.

If you put lot of work into a char, you like your class isn't it ? Example : I don't like to play as a DK, why would I waste my time on him (guild lines, undaunted, achievements, crafting style grind, ...) ? I would have rerolled way before getting "hard to get" achievements. Problem can be horse training, but you can already buy it from the crown store so problem solved (instead of putting money in class change you put money in horse training)...

If you want to play a new char with a different class, then create one, you admitted it's easy as hell to reach the lvl 50 (5 days to reach the lvl of your main as a reroll isn't long really...).

Ok, it may take you 5 days to level up a new character... but seriously, it could even take you 10 days or 15, it would still be too short. They already removed veteran ranks to make casual players happy, and you guys ask for more ?

I don't recall how I voted :/ so not sure it will line up with what I am thinking now, but...

Yes, I think we should be allowed to change class. With a huge but... But I do not think it should be crown store purchased. In the other TES games class didn't really mater except the with your starting stats, outside of that how ever you played determined what got leveled and thus what you became better at. I understand for balance reasons they would never open up all class skills to be picked and chosen for use, so allowing us to change class would be a good alternative/compromise.

I don't however think you should be able to just up and change at any time. If it was ever to be added then some sort of quest line, a long tedious one, should also be added.

I can't for the life of me understand those who are against it. It would be like telling someone they could not get any other job because when they were fresh out of high school they applied for Bag Boy and now they must spend the rest of their life doing only that.

The race and appearance change resistance some had, I could at least understand. Class? They are just learned skills.

And of course I have to assume all the people that KEEP bringing up just level a new character OVER AND OVER again, have only grinded all their characters and have no real vested interest in the game anyway. Because I dont give a *** who you are, you can't get all the achievements, mount training, researched traits back in 8-10 hours of grinding. Prove me wrong on that.

The only reason I would personally be swayed on the no side would be just knowing if it was added it would be a crown store item, and I really believe it shouldn't be that way.

All that said, I probably wouldn't change mine anyway.
