So people seriously think that the bad press will spur ZOS into action and all will be well?
Sorry I just don't buy it. The kind of press that we are talking about is not the kind of press ZOS will recover from. If it does by some miracle spur ZOS to fix things then every google search will have those articles or whatever lying there for potential new players to see that and not buy the game. Because even if the issue gets fixed nobody is going to report that as emphatically as the problem was. nobody will care it was fixed........just that it was there in the first place.
That doesn't punish ZOS that punishes us as players. ZOS will simply reduce investment and support in the face of reduced numbers accelerating the death of the game. They will still make money. We just wont have DLC and fixes will take even longer
I like this game and don't want it to die. Please think about the wider consequences.
Yep, I read one or two of these mags, but I had that impression as well.dtm_samuraib16_ESO wrote: »
Not really. I mean they're supposed to be neutral in what they report but they're not really taken seriously as they have a general bias towards certain developers and games. They may report 20x about Call of Duty and how great it is but not mention bigger, better or more recent games, as an example. IGN were one of the reasons I started my own gaming news company.
Odd, I'd thought it was more a a Charley Chaplin movie, or something similar.dtm_samuraib16_ESO wrote: »
its obviously an Xfile...

So instead of having a broken game the majority of the forum want an empty game. That seems like a sensible way forward (sarcasm).
Time is what is needed here. Its an issue.....they are aware. Putting topic after topic about it is not going to help. What exactly is the expectation here? That in a 24 hour period they can close the door to the hackers with a miracle patch. That's never going to happen. Look at the DLC's........months of development and always glitches etc.
So ZOS need to identify where the back door is. Find out how to close it. implement that close and identify what effect that has on game mechanics.......address that..... test. Go through approval processes and make the patch available. All in the 2 hours between topics. Seems like a realistic expectation (sarcasm)
Trying to get negative press on this will simply be counter productive. If that results in a mass gamer number drop then the revenue dries up. And sure you might think you are sticking it to ZOS but in reality all that will happen is that they will reduce staff levels and stop development of new content. They will still make money.......just that us playing the game will suffer more than now. If people didn't love this game then they wouldn't be getting so worked up about these issues. So with that in mind id urge people to consider the wider implications to the game in their desire to punish ZOS for there perceived wronging.
Everyone just needs to take a step back and think about what is important. At the end of the day this is just a game. But if it is so important to you that you need to take action then possibly consider this:
Instead of pointing a finger at ZOS and starting multiple hate threads demanding the impossible start a thread asking how this forum as a community can help them out getting to the bottom of the issue.
At the end of the day ZOS and the player base should be united against hackers. Having a ridiculous feud only results in the hackers winning.

So, not go there but look for more unbiassed ones, I'd say.
