    yo...this patch is garbage.

enemy NPCs don't even show up so I hope you've got aoe's until they finally do pop into existence. I'm literally jabbing thin air. thank goodness for combat text for console!!!

even regular NPCs, no matter where you go, now spawn in the exact same way the undaunted quest-givers do when there's a million people chilling at the enclave.

I'm on occasion gap-closing off the map, hit a loading screen, then come back free falling through the map. then another load screen and BAM... I'm dead somewhere where completely random in mid air at a location completely off the grid.

and how about those gap closers? wow has taking keeps gotten a complete makeover.. why seige? anyone w/ a gap closer and just skip the first wall. just don't kill those mageguards!!!

grouping tool might as well not even be in the menu. "estimated >1hour". that's some incredible patience to sit around n wait for that to pop...

I'm holding my 2h like a bow, and my bow like a 2h. i can only "fix" that by wearing that assassin personality (which by the way runs around like some cliche superhero).

for the first time, in my own experience anyways, i'm even crashing to dashboard during load screens and even character select!!!

I skip to the lou in maelstrom. frame rates drop like its a new fad. 1 frame here, 1 frame there.. dead. i kept pushing through it though... btw thanks for the permafrost pieces.... <.<

unusually long load time is more op than it ever was. rushing to defend a keep under attack? good luck with that. by the time you get there, the few that made it will have already wiped, and the keep will have already turned.

some players still show up invisible on my screen. hope they don't die because I can't revive them.

health bars are a disaster in group pvp. they look like the NYC skyline. i burn through so much extra magicka thinking people are about to die. as a healer, its a friggin nightmare. oh man.. and those health desyncs? insta-death from 80% health, but kill feed is filled w/ a bunch 2-5k hits. i've grown accustomed to snipes doing that (which are still stacking and hitting me multiple times within the same second), but now it just happens on the regular regardless of the ability used.

entire groups are literally DC'ing during seige. we charged the final keep last night going for the depose, and I kid you not... 12 people DC'd at the exact same time. and thats only one of multiple mass dc's that happened throughout the night. I've even watched entire groups seemingly frozen in time while they get dumped on by those fortunate enough to still be in the game.

when we get back from mass dc's, we couldn't pass the crown back to the original leader. instead it played a never ending game of roulette, randomly passing crown around. and to top it off..whoever did have the crown, couldn't even disband it.

ah, and to my daggerfall brethren... how about that High Rock, huh? don't make any sudden movements.. you'll dashboard in a jiffy. it's always a risk turning in those bounties.

my character locks in place during dungeons, and then just starts to slide through the map to a location i was just at prior...then it just snaps back in place.

we all know the tragedy that is wrothgar (RIP). im literally in fear every time I have to turn in my writs. there's no guarantee I'm going to make it to that stable. in fact..I haven't even did any writs as of recently because there's so many cases of people stuck in the void.

theres so many other issues, it's downright depressing. I just had to let this out one good time so I'm sorry for the rant. I absolutely love this game. ive played it since its release on console, but in it's current state... this has got to be the WORST performance I've ever had to bare witness to. I'm legitimately considering just giving this all up purely out of frustration. all this solely on xbox, too. I've seen some much more crazy stuff going down on PC... limitless ulti's being dropped by anti-gravity players. my goodness... what have you done?

    Hey everyone,

We're still looking into this, and don't have an update beyond what we posted last week when these issues were first reported. We do have our Engineers and more working on this -- it's a priority and we're working to get it resolved as soon as possible. We know it's very frustrating. As soon as we have more info to give you, we'll post it in this thread.

I have experienced every problem described here...I am not much of a complainer, but I find myself quietly deciding I invested in the wrong game.

I'm only writing to say: add me to your list for crash monitoring. You'll see that I'm an incredibly patient chump through multiple crashes, until I give up to see what's on TV. I especially love that my mount can't run five steps without hitting a loading screen that essentially punishes me for maxing out its speed.

I get the whole business end of gaming; of course you're gonna dedicate the minimum amount of resources (servers, staff, etc) to keep the game running. You aimed too low. You're disrespecting loyal, paying customers. You don't have long to fix this.

I love the new content but I have to agree with OP and others that there is definitly something else besides lag going on. DB caused several CTD for me, but my other concern is that it now takes about 45 sec to a full minute to load NPC's in ANY zone. It seems the NPC Collison is in place but they are completely invisible otherwise for a good minute. In addition, the quest arrows/circles/etc helpers are also taking upwards of a minute or two to update as you proceed through quest phases. And when I pull up my map to look at the quest objectives they do not show up about half the time. Finally, I am finding that I will take a few steps after entering a zone and get the splash screen again sometimes two or three in a row again this is in ANY zone, not just gold Coast and high traffic areas. There was a definite spike in the previous issues during pri.e time yesterday, however these issues appear more bug related than lag related, it was no where near like this when TG released in March on day one. Thanks again for the great content, it is amazing work! Just wanted to let you guys be aware of possible bugs.

Thank you, @beepbrockb14_ESO. We're forwarding these additional call-outs to the Dev team to look into as well. It sounds like everything above started after the Dark Brotherhood update?

No. It did NOT start with the dark brotherhood update. It began before that, in a milder form, intermittently affecting some but not all.

Some people in one of my guilds were crashing in Elden root when trying to pick up or turn in undaunted pledges. At that time I saw long, then longer, then super long delays in the changing of black silhouettes to armor as well as the appearance of the banker npc's in the tree and in the rawl'ka bank taking long / longer / super long. As in, put the controller down for a bathroom break and the banker hasn't appeared yet when I return type of 'super long'. There were several times I saw horrible reductions in frames per second in the crafting area of Elden Root, when there were like 50 people spamming area effects.

This was weeks before the dark brotherhood hit the Xbox. So expand your consideration beyond just that update.

Add Methadone Man gamertag to the list of players who cannot play the game anymore. My main character, Kulel Oromon is perma-stuck at the Eldon Root wayshrine. Repeated loads and crashes 5 seconds later. I literally cannot play him anymore. And if I cannot play my main character, there is no point in playing ESO anymore, or subscribing to ESO plus, or buying any more crown store stuff.

I can add that I'm noticing crazy amounts of crashes, specifically in Orsinium. Even when there are no players around.

It's to the point where I can barely play through the content. so far today - maybe 3 hours of play time - I've crashed 6 times in Orsinium, which includes crashing while trying to sign back in from a crash, while in Orsinium.

Before the DB patch, there were still crashes, but it was manageable. Once maybe every 5-10 hours, now it's nearly impossible to navigate through the city without crashing either on your way to or at your destination (many of my crashes have been immediately after entering or exiting a conversation with an NPC).

I can also reinforce the issue with NPC pop-in and texture loading taking unreasonably long, and random loading screens while running across the world because of things not loading in fast enough.

Since I escaped the prison of doom in Elden Root on Sunday morning, I have had no problems. All day Sunday was great in the first 3 PvE zones in all alliances. Even the cities were okay though I made sure that I logged off in an open area and stayed very far away from Elden Root...in fact, once I escaped I did some set crafting in Grahtwood and then left and haven't been back. Load times were reasonable and there were no crashes. Of course things were really quiet on a holiday Sunday.

3 crashes in the last 10 minutes. This is ridiculous. I've power cycled and it hasn't done anything. And what happens now is I'll be fast travelling somewhere and in the middle of the load screen it crashes so I log back on, it's taken my gold and transported me nowhere and then wants 800-900 gold to fast travel as if I just fast traveled.

This was weeks before the dark brotherhood hit the Xbox. So expand your consideration beyond just that update.

To add to this... I have been playing since January, and my timeline:

Wrothgar has always crashed for me since I gained access to it via ESO+. It was only an occasional issue until the Thieves Guild, which is when I became cautious about traveling there because I always crashed at least once per visit. Since Dark Brotherhood it's because impossible to navigate.

Elden Root has always been laggy as all get out, and as soon as I gained access to Marbruk I made that my base of operations instead. The undaunted enclave has always been an issue, but it was only a chance of disconnect until Thieves Guild. After Thieves Guild I have been guaranteed to crash either while waiting for the undaunted quest givers to load, or more commonly, right when I go to turn in the quest (so many lost keys...) Since Dark Brotherhood I now have to teleport out immediately after getting the quests; I am guaranteed to crash a second time if I try to walk away from the enclave instead.

Don't even get me started on Elden Root. I haven't finished the Mages or Fighters guild quest lines (on my 403+ character, only lvl 50 I have) because I can't get to the quests because of the lag and the crashing. My lower level AD characters skip the main questline in Grahtwoot for the same reason.

Before Dark Brotherhood, all towns aside from Elden Root worked just fine, excluding the occasional loading screen in Rawl'ka starting around the Thieves Guild update. Since Dark Brotherhood the only main town in AD (I define main town as "somewhere with all guilds and crafting stations") that doesn't fill up with multiple loading screens and occasional crashes is the first town in Malabar Tor (probably because part of it is instanced, since you have to free it for the main questline).

The Cadwell's Gold and Silver towns are laggy, but no loading screens yet, so at the current rate they will be bearable until the next DLC release, and then impossible two releases from now. They were not laggy at all before the Dark Brotherhood. The lag is worse the closer I am to a Wayshrine.

Enemies are periodically invisible, I get loading screens in the middle of fights, and I find myself playing against the server issues more than I play against the NPC enemies. When people ask for bigger challenges, that's not what they mean! :p

I have weird lag spikes in dungeons of all levels. It's worse in Trials because there are more people, I presume. Periodically, I get locked into heavy attacks I can't break free from, which started as an annoyance with Thieves Guild but is now turning into an issue. The red doesn't always appear on the floor, or shows up too late to react to it now, or shows for everyone except the person being targeted. Also about 50% of the time someone in my group will get booted from the game during the boss fight with the AoE poison on the ground in normal Darkshade Caverns (and it seems to choose mostly at random who that will be). This started with Thieves Guild.

Every update the instability has gotten worse. Wrothgar has threads on the lag dating back to when it was first released, this is not a new issue, it's something we have been working around since its launch. But with each new DLC the Wrothgar problems have been spreading throughout the game until it's impossible to avoid it now. At the rate it is spreading, in about two more DLC releases nobody on Xbox will be able to play.

I understand how everyone feels about the crashing issues. :s Let's see I've crashed about... 67 times (Maybe more; I lost count) since The Dark Brotherhood update came out.
For some odd reason it only crashes on my Champion Rank 160 characters, but never on my characters under level 50. Every time I try to get on my Woodelf Nightblade it crashes no matter what, and I can't play her at all.
The other odd thing is I keep getting a "Champion Rank 160 Reward" mail spammed to all my characters after I crash, so I literally have to delete my mail several times.

    TL:DR

Just wanted to post what might be helpful to other players, but didn't want to wade through all the posts.

Something I discovered that helped me get my main to load in Orsinium, and has since helped me every time I've had a crash to dashboard:

    1. Reset the console (which I know everyone has been trying) - this step is optional, and I haven't always had to complete this step.
    2. Log in with a different character. If they load, then try going back to the character that won't load.
    3. Delete the local save file (I found these instructions in the Support Forum - not sure why these instructions haven't been posted here yet:

To delete save data on the Xbox One
•From the Xbox Home Menu, navigate to My games & apps.
    •Go to Games.
•Highlight The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited tile and press the [Menu] button of the controller.
•Select Manage Game. Highlight and select Save Data for the desired user.
    •Select Delete.
Please be aware that deleting the save data will only reset your options settings, and that no character data will be affected.

    4. Usually, deleting the local save file would fix the problem, if switching to another character didn't.

The first time I used this method, I was able to get my main out of Orsinium. But, it took several tries. The first time, she actually loaded, but then crashed after a few seconds. This happened a couple more times before she then wouldn't load at all. I then repeated the steps and managed to get her to load after a couple more tries. Now, I complete all her writs in Craglorn before porting to the Shatul wayshrine and riding to the writ turn-in location. I haven't ventured any further into Orsinium than the writ drop-off, for fear of her crashing in there and having to spend 30 minutes getting her out.

I've also had other characters crash. Most notably, my two that were in Elden Root. I managed to get them both out, using the above method, and now park them back in Vulkhel Guard, where they complete their writs, port to the Elden Root Temple wayshrine, and ride to the writ drop-off location.

I've also had a few crashes this past weekend in Rivenspire - took several attempts using the above method to get that character to load again. Also had a few crashes in Mournhold, where I haven't had much issue before.

To ZOS - this is just a WORKAROUND; it is NOT A SOLUTION to the problem. You still have a lot of work to do to make this game playable for us on XB. You cannot expect us to keep going through these hoops just to be able to play the game. Spending 15-20 minutes in load screens for every hour or so of actual gameplay will lead many of us to look to other games to play.

Agreed. I started having issues when TG came out in regards to random crashes, but when DB was released, the crashes, glitches and unnecessary re-loads became much worse and more widespread.

Orsinium city has been crashing on me a lot since TG was released.

Same here on all counts. I actually hadn't really played since TG and coming back for DB I had my fingers crossed, but this is a joke now. I'm willing to give some leeway in major cities like Elden Root, but I've gone to camping my toons in Haven and I still get random (yet frequent) dc's and dashboards. The notion that this began with DB or TG is ridiculous! For me it started in earnest with Orsinium and they haven't made the smallest dent in that knightmare. If anything it's gotten progressively worse. I will say that Cyrodiil seems to have less disconnect issues but the lag is crazy in heavily populated campaigns.
Also, please, please, please fix the gap closer issues. Not only is the ability to go all Superman on a keep wall ridiculous, but even in PvE it leads to complete breaks in the game play like falling through the map, getting stuck in rocks/walls, and the targeted enemy suddenly being behind you.

ZOS, do what you have to do, but get this fixed, PLEASE!

    I have no technical expertise.
But one would think, with the bad performance so widespread, that this company should have tested its product more thoroughly before the release.

This all leads me to think that hype trumps quality.
Leads me to think they are just fulfilling commitments half-baked.
Leads me to think the announcement of Skyrim at E3 is bad news for ESO and its players.

I've got thousands of hours in on the XB1.

entire groups are literally DC'ing during seige. we charged the final keep last night going for the depose, and I kid you not...

This sums up my experience as well. The gap closing into load screens/death are inexcusable. Same with invisible mobs and players and NPCs. Pvp is challenging enough without being attacked by people that are seemingly running underground.

I can understand a little lag on loading into a new zone for the first minute maybe but this is absolutely insane. Seamless gameplay is non existent.

Luckily I have no characters stuck as I own no DLC but you'll be pleased to know the "updates" the base game are still ridden with similar issues.

To be constructive, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom I seem to crash the most when using wayshrines. After I port to a new zone and the load screen finishes I'm left standing around unable to weapon swap or see anyone else for a minute roughly. If I mount and ride off I hit a load screen or two. The crashes seem equally spread between pve and pvp for me. I'd say one crash an hour is about my average. Usually they are accompanied by a skipping or frozen game sound immediately prior to crashing. Like you can feel it happening.

Thanks...I would say "A for effort" but I'm not sure it applies...

Cool. So are you going to issue a credit or a free ESO plus month for the broken game? Like any other reputable MMO developer?

Subscribers are paying for this broken Patch. Its not the DLC, it the base patch you are forced to install. You should credit subs a free month.
