I am confused as to what the point will be in leveling up if everything everywhere is scaled? I don't think there is enough information regarding this, also I may be reading it wrong, but it seems like there will be zero motive to level up or create new characters (unless you RP). Also, while I get dungeons, trials, etc... for having a wider range of grouping options, I am confused why people need better grouping options for the rest of the zones regular Pve (minus Craglorn, of course)?

The same reason why you wouldn't want some one who's under 160 in your veteran dungeon group. Scaling doesn't really mean anything when they don't have any attribute points from those levels. Some who is ACTUALLY 160cp could have, say, 3000 magicka from putting points into it. But some one who is scaled wont have that, because they never got the attribute points. They're also going to have garbage gear.

I've made a thread about my thoughts because I didn't want to clutter this discussion with a wild giant wall of text :P

But if anyone is curious, this is the link:
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en-GB/discussion/271459/one-tamriel-why-is-it-both-exciting-and-scary

    To summarize it:
I think it's very nice and exciting but I really fear that the game's immersion and narratives (all the connected stories and characters) will be butchered by this change.

Disappointing. I have already explored all the zones & done all the PVE content. I don't want to do it again with a noob or a player from another faction.

My friends all dealt with the 'can't PVE with different factions' issue a long time ago by re-rolling common faction characters.

For me this will mean less grouping with friends... not more. There will be no need for low level chars to group together for higher level zones to get the skyshards. With battle levelling, I will be able to solo all the skyshards in all the zones.

all they are doing is effectively removing 1-50 and making it all based around champion points, which i believe would be their long term goal. I 100% agree with it
Wait so @Nifty2g it seems like everyone will just be CP 150 when you start the game.If everyone battled level what the point of that? Also wouldn't that make people want to use the grouping tool less since you can now be in a group with a level one during Vet Dungeons?
Can't expect the grouping to be perfect, never will be. But I assume people would have a lot more skillpoints or something

They aren't giving away skill and stat points. Matt F specifically mentioned this.

It's just opening up the world....nothing more or less.
Peoples behaviors will continue but now ppl can group without some existing restrictions.

Imagine each town regardless of you're starting faction, being a hub.
    Imagine guilds being....Guilds.

This basically sets up the game to be what it should've been day 1.

An open sandbox and while I know ppl don't realize how much good this brings, even if nothing else is changed in the fall, this announcement is the best thing. I actually would've preferred this over the silly VR to CP conversion but not to be confused. Levels 1-49 matter still

I feel like it's not even that - people do not oppose easier grouping, it's just we all expected something more. We all knew that this was going to happeb eventually since new dlc's are battle leveled, and noone seems to have a problem with that))
Skye Cloude - Sorc DPS, Master Crafter. Main, the bestest
Lae Lenne - Templar Healer Trial grade.
Dromede - Stamina Nightblade, she's a newb and doesn't know what she's doing
V'oghatta - Stamplar pretending to be a tank
Ulville Thonvella - aspiring Fire Mage, be careful around her fire sticks!
Dromedaris - lost and not found. Named after a shoe, what else can you expect from her? A proper tank in her wildest dreams
Swims-Naked - too pretty to grind, too silly to quest.
Sun Flair - Dunmer Templar that can't spell for life. To bad she's too broke to afford a name change... Well, at least she's pretty...

So my instant guess is this may just be all zones scaled and removing req to finish mmain plot to go anywhere.

Not that exciting except for scsled drops and nodes.

    But teasers just tease.

Requirement to finish main plot has already been removed, at present once you hit level 50 you get a wayshrine in the starting city of the remaining 2 factions discovered and can travel to them, no real need to do the main quest (or, indeed, any quest) at all except for skillpoints.

You can currently go into Cyro at level 10, get to level 50 and all alliances are available without having to quest at all.

the players population is decreasing and now its at a critical condition and splitted across 3 factions.. why not just group these low population together? thats whats happening in ESO.
1 year/many months ago there was so many players in ESO that there was no need in doing such "social features" like cross faction grouping for a pledge, however, as the population dropped,, it became quite hard to find a group to pledge, then with some magic, you get cross faction grouping..
    thats whats happening
as PvP players are decreasing aswell, its matter of time before PvP is totally reworked that "Cyrodiil" will be no Cyrodiil anymore, players population will be so low that all 3 factions will sign a peace agreement (LOL) and PvP in ESO will become 16vs 16 players like COD or BF session xD

No more PvE faction . No more PVE restrictions on grouping . Everyone gets battle leveled to the zone content . No more boarders between AD , DC and EP players in PVE . One big happy family all in the same house , Tamriel .

Cyrodiil remains the same . Faction only counts in Cyrodiil . So after the battles every can cozy next to the fire place an drink a Ale together an call each other names .

Who isn't happy about that ?

That is such a surreal image. Gonna be strange.

This change will make the game more like single-player TES games. And this is a nice change imo, since TES fans are their target audience and for many people ESO is their first mmo.
But this doesnt change much for long-time players (except RPers I guess for them cross-faction zones would make things more convenient). Scaled trials are great, and I'm especially looking forward to cp160 scaled DSA, but I was also waiting for the new content previews...

So they went with the idea of "journey to the endgame then the game turns into open world game" This was the idea we threw around at pre PC-launch. I like the idea after you've finished the journey, the zones are transformed into endgame zones.

I think when someone says "worth doing", they mean more in terms of XP and rewards. I am happy doing Craglorn quests with my friends for fun, but there's nothing worthwhile out of it in terms of rewards. If it gets scaled up to 160 with decent XP for mobs, delves, and quests, with decent rewards, then it will be more 'worth doing' than it is now, where it is only completionists that feel an urge to play there.

But yeah they should also get rid of the requirement for x number in a group to stand on pressure pads to advance the quest.

Journey to the endgame and then game turns into open world game was much better idea.

Im kind of disappointed this game only has 7 mill players, Destiny rocks at 30+ mill, but I suppose theres lots of players still to come, well there must be.

Please add FOG to the game too, just like Skyrim has. That gives ESO nice unique twist and makes exploration much more exciting.

    I'm not keen on this.

All I can see is more lag, more spamming in cramped cities, more crashing, more zone wars, more trolling, more grinders fighting over the same spots, more questers fighting over the same quest items.

It's gonna be bad. It's bad enough now with 1 alliance, I cannot imagine all 3 sharing the same instance. There'll be no escaping to 'vet' zones anymore to escape the lag, it'll be everywhere.
