More frustrating than wasting a one-shot ultimate in an environmental creature, which is a valid target from the POV of the current targeting system, is to waste one without any target at all, like when looting an container.

I had to laugh at all the posts here, so glad I am not the only one that this happens to. Shoots a Crushing Shock to interrupt NPC attack, but instead hits rat....... ouch, at least I got this shiny 2-handed sword out of the rat, and his guts, for fishing.

At least Meteor is AOE. I've Jesus beamed rats in a few fights. That's a surprise.

I think what I hate most is when you use an AOE on a group at the shore and then you have 3 crabs join the mob, sucking up some of your attacks.

My sister runs into this problem more than I do, but we've both suffered it.

For all the grief those little rats and spiders and other little critters give us, though, I would almost rather keep it as-is just for the comedic factor...

Turning them into harvestables might be handy, but I kinda like how multiple people can get loot from them. Makes collecting those particular fishing baits in a party faster!

You are forgetting the trick of using a critter when someone stealths, by dropping a meteor on the rat and killing the stealthier. I have actually used this...

Rats and spiders... I miss again!

They are the reason why the environment feels "alive". They're the source of movement.

There are too few NPC/mobs to generate this feeling. Without all the critters, butterflies and all, we would have the feeling to be the only moving thing in a dead static landscape (feeling we experience in Cyrodiil for instance).

But my most hilarious fail was when my DK was approaching a dolmen with lot of action going on. I thought "nice, it's time to leap into fight like a boss". I leaped on rat instead, and it was far enough from mobs to negate all my impact

Change the key.

Accidentally using my ultimate when I wasn't even in combat made me remap the key. My ultimate is now 6. Weapon swap is 7. Going for the 1 key and hitting the ` instead got old just as fast as accidentally triggering the ultimate with R.

I just "tested" this on multiple occasions, and it isn't the case. I am in the heat of battle and SQUEAK! ... dead squirrel.

Today, earlier running along the beach in Hew's Bane fighting that ankylosaur-nock-off whatever its called, my nightblade got her Assassin's Will proc, turned, fired...

and a stupid, suicidal HERON had cut in between us and BLAMO HERON takes 20,324 damage (saved the cap from the after-action) saving the Anylo-whatchamacallit (for a few more seconds.)

HERON!!!

I consider this PROOF that dinos did spawn into birds in Hew's Bane evolutionary history and the HEROn sacrificed itself to save its master.

20k+ to kill a HERON!!!

What pisses me off about them... They will screw you over on your targeted hits, but they can't be hit with AOE attacks... If one is possible, both should be.
