NA PC BWB second attempt

@dashima , as an AD I'll say this: about a two months ago literally every morning I woke up I would find an entirely DC map and AD at our gates. AD finished last in most of those campaigns. Simply put, there is a large amount of AD that does not logout when they are frustrated or we lack map. I think that many of these people are used to PvPing as the underdog and they realize that the AP is certainly best when you are the underdog.

Nobody's blaming EP/DC for logging off when they can't fight the AD zerg (actually, I'm more liable to logoff when we start zerging super hard). I think there have been some changes in AD that have let us really push back. First off, along with @DeadlyRecluse I started a guild that runs pretty regularly and is always 100% in TS. We've made friends with all the other zone guilds, many of their leaders are in our guild too, so it's been pretty easy for AD to coordinate on a large scale. I don't know that EP/DC have had many new groups with this sort of organization, or this measure of alliance-wide organization. Certainly, I've been impressed and proud as hell of AD for the changes it has made.

Believe me, I'd love to have a higher server population than keep getting more campaign rewards for a first or second place finish.

TheDink: it's true a few of us were salty to you (facetiously or otherwise). I, for one, made a light comment or two - I'll cop to that, but I think our collective point to you during the whine-n-cheese fest was that even you - a temporary, if not honorary EP member - had an excuse for not initially jumping into the foray - lack of suitable gear. You'd have to acknowledge there was a reason for suitable gear? AD numbers? Skill? Etc? Eventually you joined in, but even you had reluctance with the lack of momentum the few of us experience repeatedly due to the overwhelming numbers on the AD night crew. As resident fool, I'll still rush in and get killed with swiss timepiece precision - it's almost an art... almost. But, aside from the complaining and whining, there are many EP that stick on and push off both DC and AD (as in the time preceding your jumping on to your EP toon that evening). So - EP is trying, but it's difficult and frustrating at that part of the evening. And we've attempted the loose coalition or two with DC, but that night you played with us DC showed up on our doorstep along side AD in a rather w-t-f moment.

So it is hard to know what to do with DC. I would think it is a better idea to try to take back ash when EP is trying to take back or keep BRK, or even trying to dislodge the AD emp. *shrugs* Logic - go figure. It was a tactic. It didn't work, but it was a tactic. I begrudge no one here, and although it's seemingly unfair and frustrating, eventually it will even out again, or perhaps the current AD guilds will get bored with the lack of any real competition and move to other campaigns. And no, i don't want anyone specific to move on, I only want a leveling of populations so we are more focused on heavy competition rather than heavy imbalance.

Oh I was just hesitant because I did not want to p off anyone in my guild for fighting them on a different faction (i didnt want to say this in zone) and partly because i did not have any good armor to fully complete my build so i wasnt doing nearly enough damage. I went anyways because i realized my guild wasnt there.

Also every time i tried helping EP in zone and try to give you guys ideas, i usually get blocked out by some specific people (not naming)

Word in zone was that they have an AD alt chaining them in (and that apparently still works with the BB terrain).

While it is really annoying, it is *kind of* funny seeing AD zonechat whenever it happens.

This happens (for/by/to) all factions all the time. AD hits EP when there's a DC emp, DC hits AD when there is an EP emp, etc. My guess is that people get sick of smashing their heads into an Emp group for an hour or two. So they swing around the map where they will likely meet with more success. Whether or not that makes sense, I do think it is understandable, especially for more casual players.

@DeadlyRecluse, true, I've seen other factions battle for the same keep - sometimes swiss-cheesing from opposite ends; we have even tried seiging along side DC at one point which failed when members of EP not with the group came up and saw DC or got caught in NPC/DC area damage and decided to fight DC even though we yelled for them to leave DC alone.

But the time i mentioned in the previous post, EP was in the keep seiging out when the inner collapsed and AD ran in, and DC was with them (literally in the doorway with them) - both sizable forces and rushing EP, not each other. I had people behind me asking, "Didn't the chat chatter say AD was seiging?" when the DC poured through. I think DC got wiped because they stayed below and eventually got caught between EP and AD, AD had already rushed to the top, they had a bit of an advantage at that point. I could be wrong, I am sure I died. It was that time of night, and it's law at that point.

A simple suggestion when faced with that option again: let opposition run in; you siege from outside and aim at the flags - aim at anything that moves; wipe the remaining survivors of all opposition up rather than rush in with said opposition. Unless, it was truly a coalition attack, then, well, yeah.

Most of us old Sotha members have moved on from BwB, making new toons every few weeks is tiring. EP needs a more worthy successor to Sotha if it wants to be consistently competitive again, and a more consistent player base.

Many of the guild officers left sotha last year after a big guild infight. Several of us rolled ad chars to counter the continuous zerg that EP was doing. Sotha run groups would push to enemy gates then hold them there. I did many double scrollman runs while a member of sotha.

But, after the officers that rolled AD toons were kicked. The guild started its rapid fall. Most of us that rolled AD though have either stoped playing the game or moved onto vet PVP.

The current state of BWB is just a phase. I don't know if most of you seasoned players remember but this isn't the first time alliances have "died out". A long time ago, AD died out because EP overran everything and gate camped for weeks. Same with DC. This is just a turn of events for EP and DC now. Populations rise and fall and opposing alliances gain power for a long time but eventually people come back and life flows through the campaign again.

Arguing or pitying one faction for being dead won't solve problems, unfortunately. I'd like to thank those who discourage pushing others to the gates but during these times it doesn't matter. One day, Alliances will assemble and push back the map to what it should be. Until then though, it's a waiting game.

Pretty neat that Cola had the video. Fun, albeit fast, fights with RD! I felt bad that the group had to make do with my crummy off-heals.

This is exactly right. I was here through all of that. AD then and AD now : )) I have mad respect for those of us who have stuck it all out and stay loyal to our factions.

i must say.... that fight at Alessia last night was INTENSE!!! completely fun fight and you guys (AD) held on strong..... decided to take a complete night break from that "fun" CP grind that i've been oh so much enjoying

To me the Alessia fight was just Stupid(DC) Vs. Stupid(EP).

It may have been fun, but it was the most messed up fight I have seen in awhile. DC and EP killing each other off. I wish group leaders and guild leaders from both factions would put their differences away and work together to fight AD.

Sorry for the *** camera angle, people kept knocking me off the tower while I was trying to film so I had to sit in 3rd person and make sure no one threw me off in the middle of the fights. Next Fight Night I will get everyone to stop being *** and then I can record in 1st person.

I was there for the extended 3-way (not the dethrone fight itself, but all the fighting leading up to that) and I have to agree with you a bit Emily. At one point I just started laughing and told my group to just tag kills, because red and blue were wiping each other in the inner, leaving us to just sweep up survivors and ticks.

Would it have made more sense for one faction to wait or make a different hole or something like that? Probably. But pugs (with an "s") will be pugs.

Yeah, I finally got tired of the self-loathing associated with using windows movie maker and got a year sub to Premiere. So I will finally get around to putting together all the pvp clips I've been recording for the last few months.

I really enjoyed it, it seemed more balanced. I was actually shocked EP almost got Emp last night. I didn't even see it coming, until all they needed was Ales.

I like it when BwB is balanced, even if we lose.

looking forward to my cp grind being done lol....def would rather be playing more in BwB then running around killing bears, hagraven's and spiders .... ... If i knew i would 100% be not running anything PvE at all id just say F*** it and just stay in BwB like i did with Fang of Blackwater

How many CP are you plan on grinding?

@vamp_emily I agree - not because EP was gaining ground, but because it was highly more competitive between all three factions. It was a lot more fun. DC flattened me several times at chal mine and bleakers and it was not discouraging. I typically stay at night even when the imbalance occurs, but it's been challenging (in a fun) way to deal with the opposing factions on two fronts.
