PvP ruined

So as the title says you finally did it! You finally completely ruined PvP.

Not directly though but by not focusing and maintaining the PvP aspect of the game enough. Because of that most of the entire organized PvP community has left the game because of other, in particular one, games. At least that seems to be the case on the European server on the Aldmeri Dominion side.

I have just this evening contacted all the well known good and organized PvP guilds that I could think of, which is quite a few, and the story is the same pretty much all around. Most of their members including officers and leaders have left the game. Will they come back eventually? No one can tell.

As soon as the PvP'ers had an alternative they took it, of course they did.

Honestly I do not blame them I do however blame you, developers. For far too long you have ignored their voices or simply done nothing about it.

But I guess you do not care. You just sold a ton of PvE DLC this week. You are happy. The PvP in this game has so much potential! But you do not care. Have you ever?

I'm fine if they shut it down and open IC and Cyrodil as PvE zones. Would be kind of cool.

its because there is no such thing as PvP in ESO. It's ZvZ (zerg vs zerg)
    its #'s vs #'s.
there is no goal, no reward, no mission. its an utter failure
and if you do see someone 1vX'ing, they run behind trees, around rocks, etc...

I really don't understand why people always bring up balance as a negative for the current state of PvP. If balance was the biggest issues, the PvP in ESO would be in a great place right now.

The problem is, balance is the least of their worries. They seem to have no way of preventing themselves from breaking more things than they fix. The unbearable lag has been around for about 2 years now. No discussion on AOE caps. Class balance is something that never perfect in any MMO, but the amount of bugs and lag the playerbase has put up with is astonishing.

I love this game and everything about it. Yes, it can become better, but PvP is quite fun. People leave games eventually and its sad, but then again, we are getting new people too.

I've played PvP in spurts including a recent bought before the last patch. I recall it being pretty fun. What am I overlooking? Also, speaking of players playing PvP or even the game in general there are certain factors to take into account; for example I took a hiatus when Fallout 4 came out: and with the new DLC out, I'm wondering how many PvP die-hards are running through Hew's Bane and doing missions for the Thieve's Guild. Any PvP players (play mostly PvP) care to weigh in?

    Lag is the biggest issue.

Besides being near unplayable, a lot of the wonky things that happen, like 20m wrecking blow, are due to lag.

The big fights are pretty epic in scope and visual effects, but the winner is often whoever has the least lag or uses skills least impacted by lag. AoE, for example, because it doesn't require a target.

What are you talking man. They opened a thread asking our opinion on AoE caps, 95% of the ppl told they want AoE caps removed. Next ESO live they tell like, naaaa we wont remove it because some random reason even they dont belive. Fact is they want these big groups, even though their servers cant handle it. Bottom line they are incompetent, latest example TG DLC, so many things broken and bugged its hilarious.

Ok so to re-cap; it's AOE caps that are really the point of contention (at the moment)? What are AOEs capped at in PvP? I do recall from one of the ESO live a discussion on implementing some changes to prevent things like some of the stack-on-crown AOE actions groups were doing.

    I agree totally.

Lag is the main issue. Yeh, the balance isn't there, it doesn't even matter currently who I'm fighting because as soon as more than 20 people are fighting you don't know what the hell is going on anyway. Skills don't go off, health desyncs, bar swap gets locked up... The whole fight turns into a flipbook.

Main reason I pvp in IC. There is no lag. Sadly, because there's not enough people there to cause lag.

I'm on xbox and already have 6 v16s as I have nothing better to do. After and hour of pvp I get sick of the lag so just grind up toons in the hope that one day they might actually fix lag and I'll have choices of how I want to pvp. Not sure if that day will ever come though.

I read most of the OP to we the "reason" or "reasoning" behind how Zos ruined PvP in this game.

Sadly I didn't find one other than several groups of people he knows are playing a different game. This happens. Players move on and sometime come back. Part of the life of an MMO.

With that, they ruined PvP before the game launched. Server performance and lack of attention to issues drove most of the best AvA leadership back to Guild Wars within 6 months of this game coming out.

My educated guess: EU PC has a high four figures number to very low five figures number of people playing PvP somewhat regularly and certainly not all of them would leave the game if Cyrodiil would be shut down ( personally I would be one of them though ). Compared to the entire playerbase that is miniscule.

ZOS would probably turn a profit abandoning PvP entirely unless there is a completely different picture on other platforms/NA.

The biggest issue is there is nothing to do!!! Its not even lag, I dont have lag. I just dont have anything to do. If the other aliances have your towers.. lmao!! good luck gtfo.. wtf is the point. spend 20 min traveling to fight, only to get ambushed by a zerg from stealth. WTF is the point of pvp in eso? There is no such thing. Its so dam lame and the community keeps saying, "eso pvp is not that bad'.. cmon man. its horrible. ther is nothing to do besides zerg up and aoe everything down.

Well alot of these people here are still playing. So I think the whole people quitting over aoe caps is a bit exaggerated. To be fair tho even if everyone who pvps quit tomorrow the game would still have a TON of players. probably would cost less to operate as well.
