Definitely too early to really tell, but initial impressions are that my FPS is way up, and I have yet to see any crashes, textures not loading, etc.

It used to be that on ultra setting I would average around 35 FPS (which is near the low end for smooth FPS - you want to always be at or above 30). Now so far I've been at 130-170 FPS.

130-170?! What does that look like?! I usually am at 65-80 some places slide show at 25 but not very often, usually in high population PvP.

I encountered a bug that seems to be related to the Ancient Orc light hat. It makes my character's face disappear. There is some weird textures on the Ancient Orc robes that were not there before either. When I tried to report them, the game crashed.

Edit: After I went back to the game after it crashed, my character was back to normal.

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I am on Windows 7, logged in using the 64-bit client, and it was clear sailing for me. Granted I've only run around a little bit, but EVERYTHING seems great so far... very fast game responses with everything I've tried to do. Feels like a brand new game all over again. (Yes, really!) ZOS I know you're hearing a lot of negative feedback right now, but I am one happy camper. Thank you. <3

I would like to thank ZOS for making this game worse. The new DLC should of not been released it was not ready. FPS 24 ping 135 to 2800, rubber banding, game freezing, shuttering sound issues. Of course you have noticed no comments from ZOS. Knew this was going to happen. Every update or new DLC more problems

In the patch notes fixes to performance ya right. The performance has gotten worse.

I'm wondering how much the differences have to do with what graphics cards people are using. I'm seeing a massive increase in FPS with my GTX 750 Ti.

Yes, I was wondering about this as well, I have a 760 GTX and I see not much of a difference at all - it seems to be more stable fps-wise in crowded areas though, but otherwise not much of a difference for me.

Edit: it could be a lot of things - like for example I do not use depth of field - which means distant terrrain has to be rendered in good quality - if with depth of field effect, it could be, that the engine is not rendering in such high detail but is using lower LOD, because it is blurred afterwards anyway - this could make a difference.

Are you using maximal drawing distance - I do.

32bit and 64bit have been crashing all night for me. Disabled all Addons. No help. Took FOR-EV-ER to get through FG Gold due to everyone crashing at different (very inopportune) times.

Going to try "Single Player" content for now. If that crashes on me too (which I expect it will), it looks like I'll actually have time this week to rewire the boat trailer.

Playing on late 2009 iMac i7 - Radeon HD 4850 512MB video card

Since beta, I have been struggling to find the settings to get the game to run smoothly. Sometimes it would be ok, sometimes it would be incredibly frustrating. After patching to the 64-bit client, here is my experience:
    • Load time of the character login is a bit longer - not a big deal
    • Loading of models and textures as I'm moving is MUCH more noticeable now - objects pop in and out of view seemingly randomly - hopefully they will finesse this
    • Frame rate is GREATLY improved - was able to reach 80 FPS in some areas with high settings/lower screen resolution, unheard of with 32-bit client
    • Was actually able to duel in Cyrodiil without crazy FPS drops - never been able to do this before!
    • Still had some FPS drops depending on my surroundings, but definitely improved overall
    • Menus and crafting stations where the FPS would drop now maintain high frame rates
    • The NPC facial animations are very cool!
    • Combat music is more exciting now
    • Combat text is cool and very helpful

All in all I think this a huge step in the right direction and I might just be falling in love with the game all over again!

    GOOD JOB ZOS! B)

Absolutely. The game went from running at about 40 fps with low draw distance on 1080 to 60 fps at 4k and full draw distance.

    Loving the 64 bit client.

I can't comment on smoothness of game or FPS because it seemed close to the same when I was running the 64 bit version earlier. However, I was getting a lot of pink textures that eventually made me give up and switch back to the 32 bit. If they fix that problem I will be fine with it, but I didn't see much of a difference.

How long in the dungeon until the first crash on x64? How long were you in the dungeon after you switched to x86?

    JW.

I had the same issue, but the crashes didn't stop for me (or my entire party) regardless of Client.

weird! this doesn't make any sense. the game is using much more than 2GB with the 64bit client, which means that it is working, but i get close to half of the frame rate that i get with the 32bit client.

Well as far as FPS and performance, it seems ok to me. I havent had any crashes yet either.. But the pink, so much pink lol
I mean at first it was amusing watching skeevers playing in the field

But then I saw what happened to the poor stablemaster in Rawl'kha :o

    64 bit stablemaster

Poor guy, bad enough he looks like he was kicked in the head by a pink horse (yes I did see those as well), but he also lost most of his shirt and it looks like his body may have been cut in half below the waist and not put back together right :(
So even though Im not experiencing any real performance issues, I switched back to 32 bit for now. As I think someone else said on this thread, right now 64 bit is a bit too much like a bad skooma trip..
