After playing ESO for 2 years now, I've come to this conclusion; PvP was suppost to be very niche activity in the overall world of ESO with a few people participating in. It took the ESO dev by surprise that so many people wanted to be in PvP. And the ESO devs have been trying to fix that problem ever since. They've been running the trial and error approach to see what works in PvP for so long now, that it really seems like they had no clue what they were doing. This observation comes from someone who mainly PvEs, I can't imagine how frustraiting it is for full time PvPers.

Basically ZOS is saying that PvP players will be penalized for having played PvP. As if the abysmal state that PvP has been in for so long isn't enough of a penalty already. @Wrobel and @ZOS_BrianWheeler, you cannot be serious about saying that having played PvP and having accumulated AP is something that has be penalized by not upgrading the PvP vendors and even remotely thinking of something as ludicrous as an 'AP cap'. Please say it was just a bad joke like Proximity Detonation being a zergbuster skill.

Also, will there be a gold cap for people who have accumulated a lot of gold?

Sometimes I get this creepy feeling, like he's in my TS and crafting his decisions based on what will make me give up on this game.

That or he's just terrible at his job, I guess.

It continually boggles my mind how a team can make a beautiful game like this with so much potential and than go, "What if we stabbed it with a screwdriver? Would that make it even BETTER??!"

I couldn't make that up if I tried.

Bingo! You are right! I have never carry a scroll before, I better try out with that new meta well fitted build on my full healer Templar to get my achievement as scroll bearer.... Oh wait!.... There's no such achievement! Bummer! ....

Who the hell cares if people can buy all the gear right away? I'd be willing to bet that the players with a ton of AP saved up already have the best gear, so its not like its giving them any additional advantage over players who don't have much AP. Who are you doing this for, ZOS? The players with lots of AP definitely want this change, and I haven't heard any indication that players without much AP care at all whatsoever (considering this is an MMO, most people realize it takes currency to buy stuff, and wouldn't expect the developers to not sell things just because some people don't have enough currency to buy it...)

Looks like this is just another case of ZOS doing something that their playerbase doesn't like in order to follow the money trail. I get it, as a business you need to do things to make profit, but if you continue to make decisions that completely go against what the players want, eventually you're not going to even have a business to make money off of anymore.

Players playing for large AP gain as a goal has led to a lot of cheese play.

It should have been nerfed (soft capped) long ago.

That said, AP gain was not fixed long ago, so players amassing huge amounts of AP should be rewarded with something. A costume hat perhaps.

Really though, ZOS needs either better management or a larger staff to prioritizing addressing and communicating on these kinds of issues A LOT sooner.

It seems to me that Eric thinks he can some how slow down the rate to which players obtain items to match their production speed in creating them. Which never ends well, developers can not keep up with the rate players consume content. There is always going to be those players who for whatever reason have a large amount of free time and decide to use it to play the game.

Also it seems that he doesn't understand that the whole reason people have so much ap is because he and the itemization team never placed items on the vendors that people really want. Most the consumables for example are completely inferior to what players can craft. Another thing they didn't do was place upgrade materials tempers, tannin, rosin, etc on the ap vendor. They could have made them bind on pick up to keep them flooding the in-game economy; but it gives those who don't like to pve options to advance by using their ap from pvp.

I spent about two weeks farming materials to craft and upgrade a new set of gear, and would have gladly burned my ap to get those materials without having to click on hundreds of resource nodes. Players aren't going to spend their ap on garbage, the developers need to place items for sell on vendors that players would really want and in some cases only can get from the ap vendor.

This just in..Wrobel is confused about Mudflation in terms of Currency and how to deal with it....

Its almost as if he hasn't examined bloody 20 years of MMO gameplay and seen the way to get rid of Currency in an MMO isn't via caps but ya know..stuff to spend Currency on.
