Fast forward at 15:00. "I don't see why it is lagging, only using 50% CPU". Sounds promising.
He also mentions "nearly 600 people" and they were all CLUSTERED in ONE AREA with at least 30 FPS.
Now how does that look like in ESO?
The graphics look like Nintendo 8bits (Not complaining - I know this is Alpha). Of course you can get 600 players on the screen using mario bros 3 animations.

Try setting ESO to mario bros 3 animations (low on everything) and tell me again how much better it is.
It is with great sadness this day that we announce Zazeer has decided to end GoS's run as a competitive PvP guild. While you may still see some of us on the battlefield, GoS as an entity is no longer how we will likely define ourselves.
For two years we terrorized your buff servers and PRAISED THE ONE MOST HIGH BATZAZ THE FIRST GRANDSLAM EMPEROR NA (sorry crown, he was first, you en peasant)
But yeah, this is serious, and we will see you all in Camelot Unchained.
This is not a goodbye thread, most of the members are staying, but the guild is going casual, so break out some music, dingdong the witch is dead. Or is it?
CU has just begun to increase their visuals and designs. I get emails from them at the very least 3 times a week (aside from holiday times) describing what they are doing, any new employees they are hiring, what new alpha tests will be conducted, and the results from the alpha tests conducted in the past.
When you log into the alpha test you can talk directly to the people creating the game, including Mark.
The only reply I will see from Zos is likely a warning for this post.

CU and ARK have the best communication with their devs to the player base of any game imo. With CU, you can log into the chat from your computer/phone/tablet and talk to anyone including devs in the game right now too.
For those complaining about how it looks, a lot of animations and artwork are placeholders. They are focusing on performance first, as every game should. You probably will want to check back around Beta 3 for a more in depth on how it will look and run at launch.
CU has said performance comes first, I prefer performance over visuals and would rather not be sliding across my screen everywhere not hitting abilities. If you want a studio who focuses more on a great looking game instead, ESO is there for you.
I'm not really sure what has changed to cause such general malaise. So Zazeer went casual and there will be one less Zerg running around. Isn't this a good thing and generally what we want? Groups are getting smaller and smaller (With some exceptions) which is good.
It seems the majority of the players in GoS are still playing so the impact really should be minor. Plenty of Red ball groups rolling around still as I fought them all weekend.

Where in my post did I say that ESO was good at optimizing their game?
ZOS does a good job optimizing their game.

HYPE INTENSIFYING!!!!

^^ Very much this. While timezones mean I miss US primetime a lot, the last two weeks have been a blast so thanks Rylana for all the time and effort you've put in.Thanks Rylana. You're a great player and even better leader. You've sacrificed a lot of time to hold the guild together for this long. The state of PVP and the game in general is a bigger monster than any 24 man raid we've faced in Cyrodill.

No. GoS was not a mindless Zerg, but a collection of talented players who typically actually tried to make the campaigns they played on better for the entire PvP community. We need more guilds with such accountability and a sense of responsibility, not less.
And you don't seem to have recognzied that with the exodus of many of the more talented players and guilds - Alacrity, Havoc, No Mercy, et al, - all I presume you are happy to see gone as that's one less zergblob - they simply get replaced by other guilds who try to mimic what made them successful and just wind up tanking the ping because ZoS's incompetence and failure to work with the PvP community have fostered a meta where such lag-inducing tactics are rewarded.
The departure of GoS is a real loss and I am sorry I won't be playing with or against them.

My recollection of fighting them doesn't make them quite so benevolent as you seem to recall but my intent wasn't to insult them in any way, just to state the obvious from my PoV.
Do you honestly thing the farming Ball groups of Alacrity, No Mercy, and Havok has been a good thing for this game? How many thousands of players got farmed over and over by these elite crews with no chance at all to compete and ended up never coming back?
One guy leaving didn't change PvP in any way, IMO it may have helped it in more ways than it hurt it. That's no an insult at any of them, Zazeer is a nice guy and I enjoyed fighting with and speaking to him, but I think that playstyle in this game has had a detrimental effect more than it helped the enjoyment of the players who contributed to it.
If GoS becoming casual means no more blobs then perhaps I'll get a chance to experience some PvP from its members in a far more "Casual" manner and that's a good thing to me yes. /shrug
