Do you feel second class if you are playing eso on console

Besides needing zone chat and the many QOL add-ons, I actually much prefer the console version.

I've watched many streams and seen many PC videos and have to say, the game looks terrible on PC. The screen is ruined with all the scrolling text and little icons for absolutely everything. I know you can opt out of all that noise but being at a distinct disadvantage being a big PvP player would make me feel forced into having all that junk clogging up what is a truly beautiful game.

    Exactly what I was saying

The sweeping generalizations of console gamers in this thread are not accurate.
I"ve got veteran characters on both PC & XB1 servers.
ESO is just as awesome on console.
Sure it could use txt , add ons, and a few communication tweeks, but time will provide.
I read these posts and get the feeling you could insert any game available on pc & consoles and the arguments wouldn't change.
All console gamers are not like your little snot-nosed CoD addict cousins.

For me, the pc + mods thing is over-rated. I've been a pc gamer for a number of years, my kids have a gaming rig each that they run WoW on. Personally though, I prefer console.

It just works. Not only that, but for online gaming it offers a level playing field - everyone you play against or with has exactly the same setup, if you do poorly then it's your own fault - not because they have a higher FPS, better cpu, 45 mods installed, a wall hack and aimbot installed etc

I just got sick of pc (mostly windows more than the hardware). Consoles just work and only need replacing every five years, not upgrading every 6 months like a gaming pc.

I really feel second class right now with the fact that PC and XB1 get the crown discount because the free play weekend and we aren't getting the same discount on PS4 even though we can't have the free play weekend because of Sony doesn't mean we should be excluded from the Crown Store discount.

    Thanks for nothing ZOS!!!

It's just you...I played on a nice PC from closed beta to release and months after.

I happily swapped to console and only play PTS occasionally now

The reality is...if your perspective is that PC is better, jump ship.

    It's not just him.

Then it's just a few of you cause no one is being forced to play on consoles as PC exists

Give me the option to switch all my things from console to pc then this would be a option

Well today is a great time considering the discounted price of the game and crowns...
Nothing is for free as I had to buy the game during the limited time PC to console xfer but my PC account is far behind. Considering your disgust with the feature desired, it makes sense to move on IMO.

This week is the best opportunity...the choice is yours

Plus, PC players are guinea pigs for new content and patches. They have to put up with more bugs and glitches, I think.

I disagree consoles are littered with bugs and glitches. If anything, PC gets them fixed sooner.
Consoles still get glitches and bugs, we just put up with them longer.

I have never played a TES game on console, but I remember reading about the Skyrim fiasco on PS3.

Fallout 4 has its own issues that can be worked around on PC, but can make the game unplayable on consoles.

Which platform will work better depends on how the game was developed. It is true though that a lot of console first games get half-assed PC ports with lame console graphics and a barely workable mouse UI.

But the 6 skills at a time setup was probably strongly influenced by the desire to make the game work with gamepads on consoles, so I wouldn't say that consoles are second class. It is just a lot harder to push updates when a developer doesn't have complete control over the platform.

I agree with you I reported I can't complete the long live the king quest with a bounty and they replied back telling me it will be fixed so I was like okay awesome it's going to be fixed on ps4 but then they updated my post saying it will be fixed on pc this Monday but not on console when in the title I said I was having this problem on ps4 ridiculous

It is not ZOS's fault that patches have to go through certification. That's Microsoft and Sony. I agree that it's frustrating, but they can't push weekly patches to console and instead have to cram multiple patches in one update for console. This is one of many reasons I prefer PC.

There is also no point in ZOS trying to hold back PC patches to wait for console.

Because of how many hoops they have to jump through for console updates, it also makes sense that they like having a few weeks of real world data before sending updates to consoles.

    First off this is silly.

1- Text chat should NOT come to consoles. THEY ARE CONSOLES . You are supposed to use voice chat like any other game on the consoles. Which EVERYONE uses. So if you don't like talking on a mic then you shouldn't own a console and expect text chat because it is very clunky like in final fantasy. Who wants text all over there screens ?

2- I used to play PC and literally bought an Xbox one to play ESO and love it 10 times better then the pc version.

3- The consoles (at least Xbox) are WAY MORE populated then PC is. When I logged in to the game on console I was very surprised .

4- The no add ons is a GOOD thing. You don't need to download 1000 add ons just to stay at even ground with people who have 1000.

5- Its more casual. The pvp is fun because not everyone is amazingly good with max cp (there are a good amount though)

6- the 30 fps doesn't bother me one bit considering this isn't a graphical game and on 60 fps on the PC I couldn't run it at max settings so I'd rather have a console version at max settings and 30 fps. Not that big of a deal. At all. I also don't have to adjust my settings and watch my fps every 30 minutes.

7 - Native controller support (You elites can thank us for that ;) with your PORTED controller support that's laggy.

So if you have an expensive rig , then good for you. It must be an extra bonus to have a little better performance but don't make people think they are less superior because of it.

Moral of the story is I played both versions, PC and Xbox One NA and I love the console version much more. That's just my opinion. Doesn't make it factual . The only thing I'd argue is there is more people on consoles which is pretty obvious just by checking the campaigns and being in starter cities and seeing all the people running around

Edit: I'll probably get hated on for what I said but it doesn't matter because like I said its what I enjoy and no matter how sarcastic, or snobby half these PC players are . (I say half because I used to be one and know plenty of people that don't care) It must make them feel better about themselves. Meanwhile I'm running massive 24 people groups with 100v100 battles in cyrodil , with HILARIOUS people in the group chat. It feels 10x more social with voice chat. If you haven't gave it a chance I recommend trying it. I used to always leave area chat (still do) and group chat but when I stopped being an anti social butterfly I actually have met so many friends through group chat in cyrodil, delves, dungeons and dolmens then I ever met on PC. So once again the text chat is not needed. Only a very smal minority that QQ on the forums actually want it. You go IN GAME and no one suggests they want text chat. It's just in HERE

Not hating just stating some facts here.

The Console game runs on low-medium settings. Not high. Large graphical difference imo

You don't need an expensive rig to play eso on pc, a 400 pound rig (same price as console) will run high settings at 60 fps.

Text chat has been requested by the majority, the issue with voice chat is no one uses it. I enter voice chat st the local enclave for daily pledges and no one is listening or in the channel. Therefor voice chat is uselsss since it can't help form a group in the first place.

Xbox and ps4 used to be more populated when it was new, many have moved on, I play on both platforms and pc is far busier, pvp has more activity and bars actually active, far more people at the enclaves doing vet pledges. Far more people competing in vma.

Even new areas are more populated on pc nowdays.

No addons isn't a good thing, it's a choice, you don't NEED them on pc, I know many good players that font on pc, they are a very good convenience item though. They are also the only way to test broken skills.

You don't hear people in game suggesting voice chat because you can't speak to anyone? Pretty obvious point that.

    My experience with voice chat.

Go to undaunted enclave , enter area chat, out of 20 people there 1 is in voice chat. Keep repeating "vr16 healer lf gold pledge" for half an hour for no one to respond.

Someone joins voice chat and is eating loudly/baby crying in background or screaming my ears off.

    No thanks

Id have to disagree. Everyone uses voice chat. I've ran into more people that use it then people who don't. You send someone a group invite and almost every time they have a mic. And also, my $500 computer couldn't run it at the high settings so unless you own a $400 rig that runs it at high settings 60 fps I don't think I believe that one. Also I don't go in area chat. I only talk in group chat. & im almost 100% sure the settings aren't low/med , the sub-sampling is atleast on high

Not sure about X1, but PS4 has very little in terms of voice chat population.
Im in a guild with an avg of 15-30 online at any given time, wanna know how many in guild chat? 1-3, 4-5 on a weekend.

No one really uses voice chat UNLESS already in a group. People will not hear you unless your in a voice chat.

I dont know if PS4 users are mostly PS3 users, but mics werent a thing for PS3 players, games were silent. Unlike X360 games were almost everyone used voice chat (to mostly bad effect).
So PS3 players moving to PS4 might not care about mics as much a X1 former X360 players.

Which is why we NEED text chat. Plus it would breath some life into ESO. Anyone remember Barrens chat? Never a dull moment. Haha

    1. EVERYONE does not use voice chat on console. For example in my guild of 500, about 150 are online at any given time. Guess how many people were in our main chat channel last night? 2.

    2. Who wants text all over their screen? Is the bottom left corner "all over" the screen? If you don't like it you can always close it

You must not of read what I said later. I never said that guild chat or area chat were good or ideal situations of communication with other players. Groups are. If you invite someone to your group 9/10 times they will have a mic. If you want to type text back in forth with your "guildies" while standing around in Wayrest then go to PC. If you want to talk to your group members efficiently then consoles are superior considering you don't have to download "TS" and have everyone asking "what's the TS server?"
It's like wanting text chat for battlefield. When you are in the middle of a battle you don't have time to type when your being shot at. Same thing with ESO, if your pvping or doing dungeons the most efficient way is voice chat. No way am I going to open click on the little window, wait for the Xbox keyboard to pop up, and individually click each letter until I make a half decent sentence and send it. Id be dead by then. No one will use it if it's implemented and you will see. That's why it's not there. So many people complain there's no text chat on console but no one complains why there's no native support for voice chat on PC ?

I think your missing the point. We dont need text chat to replace voice chat, we need both.

Eg: text chat to LFG, voice chat once group is formed.

I'm having a hard time understanding how you dont see how text chat can help consoles.

Its like having a car with only the gas gauge on the dashboard, sure you can still drive and knowning when you need to refill is more important than knowing your speed or if your headlights are still on during daylight. But all those other features help too.

ESO as a singleplayer game is fine, once you involve MMO into it, it fails.
