Pre-ordered Fallout 4. Not as huge a fan as some others, mostly because I remember Fallout 1 and 2 and how I liked them. Bethesda's redefnition has always seemed a little lame to me but I'll give it a second go.

I have 19+ hours in and I'll play it off and on for awhile, after the bugs are fixed. And yes, there are bugs. The UI alone ... just don't get me started.

FO4 works, Ive played like 16 hour now and absolutely no glitches, or bugs etc. Its kind of hard game to get into, but when you do its fun.

What game are you playing? Because it isn't Fallout 4.

Absolutely no bugs? My God, they released a patch YESTERDAY to fix bugs. Even the fanboi media reviewers are admitting there are bugs.

I haven't encountered more than two bugs in 20 hours of play time, one of them was a crash early on and the other was a UI glitch when I used alt+tab too much. I'd recommend updating graphics drivers, if you use nvidia then they usually put out GameReady drivers for new big game releases. I think the bugs are very different, like I know quite a few PC players that haven't had any problems at all, but I heard consoles were having it rough.

Loving Fallout 4 so far. Put in 6 hours on X1 and only ran into one little issue with the first group of settlers getting stuck at a car. A nudge with my power armor, however, can solve almost anything :)

After hitting V16 with my main on Monday I think I'll spend a bit more time in the wastelands right now. Still logging in on the weekends to do MA. And as some other poster already said, it's rather boring to only play one game.

Im having a blast in fallout4 during prime time, because pvp in cyrodiil during this time is futile due to lagg, I still love playing eso during early or late hours, just not during prime time.

Received Fallout 4 two days ago and must say that is pretty stable on launch (Xbox One). No problems whatsoever during the first 10 hours. But still needs a few adjustments though but nothing really bothering me at this point.

I've played about 20 hours in Fallout4, and haven't run into any major bugs. I'll alternate between the 2 games, because after 2 solid years, I'm starting to get burnt out on ESO even with Orsinium. People should note that this poll/question is a bit bias since the people who are playing FO4, are actually playing it and are not spending time on this forum.

Would you eat the same meal every day?

Sometimes i listen to the same song, over and over and over, when I go jogging. Usually around mile 8 is when i realize it, and switch to a different song.

Ya I am weird, and I only play one game right now.

So Fallout 4 no, not my thing.............

However one of my gorgeous children (well adult but still my kids) brought me DA Inquisition for my birthday this week........

He's coming round tonight so I thought I'd better open the box at least........

Which led to ''well I'll just install it'', which led to ''well I'll check out character selection''...........

Sooooo I have just restocked my Guild Stores and am now about to investigate the ''newish'' game further!!

Knew I should never have unwrapped that damn box. >:)

ESO was the only game i bought full price in 4 Years. Make sure you check into the game before spending your hard earned money, my advice is just wait for it to go on sale or a GOTY edition (ya never know) with all the dlc. You know theres going to be dlc and patches.

    I'm staying in ESO

I will continue playing ESO, GW2, and SWTOR. Fallout 4 is a fairly ugly game anyways, and the story is a bit too silly for me. Of course these are my opinions. Half the time I have trouble staying with ESO (the lag, fps drops, fairly ugly textures really hurts the game for me) so I'm not sure if I'll ever buy another game from this studio again.

I have been exclusively FO4 since Monday (vpn unlock), but I decided to log on today to clear out mail of sold item proceeds and to get hireling mats. Maybe I'll log on twice a week, but might not really play until the third DLC. I still need to finish off The Witcher 3 after FO4.

    Waiting
New games from Bethesda are always buggy as anything
I'll let the patches and the modding community fix the major issues before touching it

Besides my current pc wouldn't run it even at minimum specs

By the time I get my new pc (Jan/Feb) I'll maybe look at it but I prefer fantasy to post-apocalyptic settings so I won't devote all my time to it

I am happy that I have had zero bugs so far. I did find out from coworkers that there should have been a hard to kill deathclaw in one area that I cleared, so perhaps that bugged and didn't spawn for me. Otherwise, it has been smooth.

What's the fun in reading just one book at a time? Why not alternate between books each chapter?

    No thanks.

Yeah, I haven't seen anything major so far either (knock wood). I've heard about people having the usually funny physics issues, but nothing game-breaking. This is one of the smoothest Bethesda releases I've seen in a while.

I'm actually surprised when games like this release without a TON of bugs. As complex as games (especially open world games) are today, it amazes me that they're aren't way more bugs than there are. Even back when a game could be developed by one person and had only a few kilobytes of code, there were bugs even back then. Today, with games involving HUNDREDS of coders, artists, etc. working for YEARS to produce GIGS of code, it's amazing that these games come together at all.

I'm not sure why people are surprised by this. If there were known bugs in a game like Super Mario Brothers, that only had to work on one very specific platform and had only a few kilobytes of code, do you really think that a modern game isn't going to have them? You could QA test a modern game for years and some bugs would still inevitably slip through. There are just way too many variables in a modern game to ever predict everything that might happen. Some bugs can only be discovered when millions of people are playing. Who knew the game would freak out when player X (with specific computer setup Z) did Y? Our coders never expected a player with setup Z to do Y. None of our hundreds of testers thought to do Y, or had the exact setup Z. But at release, player X with setup Z did Y and found a bug.

I'm disappointed to find the same "stop and start" combat system from Fallout 3 has returned. I just want to shoot stuff!

You mean VATS. One of the signature features of the series since Fallout 1. Yeah, why ever would they include that? Maybe because it's an RPG an not a shooter?

You know it's optional, right? Howard even said they tightened up the mechanics so you can play it as a pure shooter.

There was no VATS in F1 and F2.

The name was different, but the probability based targeting was there.

I play both ESO and FO4, Wrothgar can get kinda boring if that's all you do. So I alternate between playing 2 or 3 days of one then I switch to the other.

Same here. I had a subtitle get stuck for a couple minutes. That's literally it in terms of bugs.

I can get people not liking the gameplay style, but the ones claiming to be big FO3/NV fans and bashing FO4 baffle me. Every aspect of the game has been upgraded and improved. From little stuff like multiple sorting options in every menu, to things like formerly bullet fodder enemies actually being fun. Molerats attack in groups and pop out of the ground behind you. Ghouls slither out of vents in rooms you thought you cleared. Got nailed the other day by a raider dropping a grenade down the stairwell I was in. They use cover and will flank you.

The graphics complaint are from people who don't get how games work. With a Bethesda world, all those movable barrels, bottles and chairs and cups and traffic cones take processor cycles. There has to be a trade off. They keep comparing it to other games that, while they may look prettier, are just fancy 3D paintings with zero interactivity.

ESO managed a good balance there, but Fallout is all about scavenging junk, especially with the vastly improved crafting where nearly everything has value.

I really wish the LOL button still exists. Two Fantasy Games and a Space Fantasy Game are 'pretty' and not silly story wise. But a story based on an alternate reality of Earth with a Nuclear Holocaust is ugly and silly? And if youre not playing Fallout 4....How do you know what the story is about?

I prefer my science fiction to be more positive in nature. I'm not into Dystopian or Post Apocalyptic scenarios.

I want to envision and play in a world where mankind got off it's collective butt and started working together, got on track with a matching wardrobe and rocked the galaxy as the most awesome species out there.

Personally, the whole "look you're a survivor of this awful thing" is usually horror not entertainment.

That's "Campbellian" science fiction, named after John Campbell, a SF editor from the Heinlein/Asimov era. He championed the idea of science and tech being triumphant. It's a favorite sub genre of mine as well. You don't see much of it these days, sadly.

I normally don't like dystopia fiction because I think we really are headed to a very dark future, but the Fallout world is a very well done example of it. There's also some hope- the civilization is destroyed, but humanity is crawling up from the rubble and reorganizing/rebuilding. Sometimes your choices in the game can help with this.
