Is eso better on pc or console reasons why

forgotten7377
Just was curious if eso is even worth playing on console. And if not reasons why? So can someone let me know the differences between console version? And pc version. I heard console players get treated bad compared to pc players.

    As they should. lol
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

I have a hard time not agreeing. Many elements on console feel lacking. Time to kill is really the only metric console has to track damage for example, and it's a poor substitute. I truly hope the updated UI ZOS is working on gives console players a lot more info to work with.

PC because of addons. Which addons?
    • Khajiit Speak (Character says "This one" instead of "I")
    • Advanced Filters (Armor is separated in categories like helmet, cuirass, etc.)
    • Immersive Mount Riding (1st person Horse!! WOO HOO!!)
    • Harven's Quest Journal (Journal looks like a journal... oh and it keeps track of completed quests)
    • No Interface Pins (pins on the compass but not floating over heads in the air)

I honestly couldn't play ESO without them... well I could play without Khajiit Speek, but I wouldn't play Khajiit.

While the PC version is having some nice advantages, I would not play it, but that's my own personal taste.

    Some difference to be aware:

    * Console, that's plug and play. With the PC version you have to do your research and 'trial and error' to fine tune the game to your specific machine. It can take hours. It's what you like of course.

    * On the PC you can use add-ons. Some of these add-ons are really nice, but most are pure crap. You have to do again some research. You could opt not to use the add-ons (like some players do), but then you have a competitive downside. It's certainly true that many people use different add-ons which makes the playfield not equal.

    * PC players using a gamepad have a serious disadvantage versus keyboard/mouse users. On the console we all fight with the same weapons.

    * It's a matter of taste as well. Some people prefer the mouse/keyboard combo way above the gamepad. In that case you have no other option as playing PC.

    * On the PC you have TextChat, on the Console it's replaced by VoiceChat. Some love/hate TextChat, others love/hate VoiceChat.

    * The Console updates of the game are way behind the PC updates.

    * Graphics on PC could be better. Could, because determined by your hardware.

    * Community on PC is older and at such in general better settled. The PC version is reaching its adult state, while the console version is more like a fresh teenager.

    Executive Summary:

While the PC version has clearly some advantages in terms of power, flexibility and functionality, the console version is more user-friendly and more balanced.

It's up to you what you prefer the most.

    My two main reasons:

    -Addons

Hey you really wanne play without crafting addons like CookeryWiz, CraftingStation or AIResearchgrid, or Wykkyd Toolbar or buffs displayed, or Destinations or Skyhards or Lorebooks ?

    - I don't want to downgrade my grafics.

I play this game in ultra+ on 3xxx × 2xxx resolution by Nvidia downsampling while running an i7 4790K and 2× Geforce Titan X. This is one of the very rare MMOs which deliver pretty decent visuals and I should downgrade that ?
Sometimes the prey turns and nips us... it's a small thing.

So let the snow flakes and unicorns dance alone until they melt or vanish from existence, we will finish up with those smart enough to stay in the glowing circle of love.

Selissi - CP 1k+ Redguard Stamina Nightblade (Ebonheart Pact)
Silmerel - CP 1k+ Breton Magicka Templar (Ebonheart Pact)
Sunja - CP 1k+ Dunmer Magicka Nightblade (Ebonheart Pact)
Suldreni - CP 1k+ Dunmer Magicka Dragonknight (Ebonheart Pact)
Sulhelka - CP 1k+ Altmer Magicka Sorcerer (Ebonheart Pact)
Sylundine - CP 1k+ Breton Magicka Warden (Ebonheart Pact)

Addons seem to be a big part of why everyone loves eso on pc. Plus better options to communicate with others like text chat for example. Thanks for your insight :)

The add-ons can be nice, but they have disadvantages as well:

    * Some are buggy and make the game crash
    * Some slow down the game
    * But the biggest disadvantage is a bit hidden: not all the people are using the same add-ons. As a result the battlefield is less balanced.

Gameplay wise, it's much better on PC, no matter what.
Performance wise though when it comes to PvP, consoles are better currently. Probably simply because the servers are emptier or so.

Console is behind the PC updates by several, painful miles.

Really. I play console and it's laggy as a drugged whorebat in a shedload of treacle. Mind you that could be due to the servers or my internet connection.
There are no addons at all. None. It's really basic and a pain sorting through your inventory.

Only good thing about it? Plug n play. That is it.

PC - afterall it's good to be a member of the masterrace.

Depends. Many people opt for more user-friendly and more balance above power, flexibility and functionality.

There's a reason why many PC players jumped to the Console version. Some regretted the jump, but some don't at all.

There is no 'master race', it's like you want.

Depends on what you want, play on PC and you can let the as on play the game for you then whine the game is too easy or you can play on console and actually play the game yourself;)

And then whine about the amount of bugs and glitches which I believe pertain to both versions.

Personally I hate the addons, except a rare few like Lorebooks and Skyshards - that's all I'll use these days. I got tired of the errors popping up on my screen during the most inopportune times from combat logs.
To be honest, you can just print out a map with the addons I do use and refer to them on your console version.
The thing that does it for me on PC is,

    - I enjoy using the keyboard and mouse. I feel more efficient. I love the controller for Mario.
    - Graphics are better
    - I get my crowns every month
    - The UI is exceedingly better
    - Text chat, and not having to hear squeaky adolescent teens raging, or people slurping ramen into the microphone
    - It's easier to find materials, gear, and things just seem to be more stocked in guild stores
    - Quicker updates. If there's a serious problem getting patched in the next update, PC will get it first.
    - PC mastur race

    • PC graphics are customizable and no, it doesn't take hours lol
    • Addons that make up for the hugely lacking UI and QOL in the game
    • PTS access
    • Ability to choose kb/m or controller
    • Text chat which allows Zone communication for grouping, selling/trading and quickly answered questions
    • Voice chat as well via Teamspeak or other programs for fast group or raid communication.
    • No obnoxious RL garbage (music, screaming kids, screaming parents, barking dogs, someone's TV)
    • Better graphics with the option to enhance them even more by using SweetFX if you choose
    • Established community that is knowledgeable and can Test things (with those add ons) so less rumor, myth and misinformation
    • Flexibility in how and where you play (we can play from the recliner, too :) )
    • We actually get to see our character names

    Average Joe Summary

Much more flexibility, ease of communication, choices, smoother gameplay and quality of life in-game.
