Is there a way to *NOT* accumulate Tel Var stones?

Basically, what I'm trying to do is enjoy questing and grinding in the IC without the hassle and drama of carrying a stash of TV stones. I tried turning off "auto-loot" in Gameplay Settings, but it doesn't work. Is there any way to prevent TV stones from accumulating when you kill IC mobs?

By the way, there doesn't seem to be a way to destroy your TV stones, either. This is also really annoying, so if anybody knows how to do it, please tell!

I don't understand why you wouldn't want to collect them... It's like saying I don't want to collect gold from random loot drops....why?

What does collecting them matter if you don't care about using them? Just ignore them. People will kill you no matter how many TV stones you have.

0 or 1000... You're still going to die the same. If you ignore having them, there's no hassle.

They are currency so they won't clog your inventory. There is absolutely no reason to not want them.

This would be a nice feature to have, especially if you are only grinding mobs for drops. No need to reward gankers and random zergs. You don't earn any stones, and they can't take any from you either. It's not the same as not wanting to earn gold or AP, as those cannot be taken from you.

I'd like to be able to not collect them also. Then if I am killed no one gets them so no reason to kill my character trying to PVE.

I believe this is not an option because they wanted that feeling of fear when in imperial city. As well, I think they did not want people just farming for mats - they wanted the new mats/drop to be difficult to get, and without PvP I don't think they would be.

As much as I die in PvP, I'm cool with the stones. As mentioned prior, if I'm on a questing mission I'll just ignore the fact they exist. Of course people will still kill me, but then at least I'm not angry I lost them.

I don't have a problem with getting killed, because it's just a minor inconvenience due to the proximity of respawn points. What I detest is the feeling that some ganker profited by my death and is happily counting my loot while I try to figure out what the heck just happened!

There is still plenty to do in the Imperial City that doesn't revolve around Tel Var stones. I would like a chance to enjoy that content without feeling like a chump.

So, basically, you want a PvP-less experience in Imperial City.

And they would know that by??
You want a super big sign over your head saying: "NO TELVAR STONE ON THIS GUY"?
You REALLY think players would not kill your toon if it was flagged as "not collecting stones"?

I don't even know where to start.

This is the ol I'm a poor sport mindset at its finest imo. Who cares. You're going to get attacked anyway. Stop trying to spoil someone else's fun while you are playing games in their back yard. :p
Go collect stones so someone can kill you and fuel the new economic market already. ha-ha.

Ah, the days of oblivion when you could just pull something from your inventory and drop it on the ground to despawn.

I see what you're going for here, and I understand it. They should have to be looted, same as any other gear.

You'd then have the option to simply not pick them up.

Your idea of a "poor sport" is extremely warped. Tel Var stone looting is the equivalent of jumping over the net in a tennis match and hitting the other player over the head with your racquet so you can steal his wallet!

    I'm not even a PvP'er.
But the idea of trying to remove some enjoyment to those PvPers, who were LONG DUE some content and fun, and for whom this expansion was clearly the focus SINCE THE VERY BEGINNING, is really weird.

    @Casdha, the 50's no longer a minimum.

However, you'll spend more time going to and from the bank (Inventory Mini-game Version 2.1.4) than actually being out and about.

Sure there is a reason to have 0. So those who kill you get 0. Won't stop anyone from killing you, but it should definitely be an option to not take them or not carry any on you. If you want to gank me fine, but the game should not force me to take the loot and guarantee you get a reward for ganking me.

It's like they actually designed it intentionally to maximize "gank" and "zerg" behavior. Hilarious.

Hadn't kept up with that one, Noted. I was just trying to offer up something . The other alternative if you want to play and not let them get anything is to die often enough that they don't get much. I don't think that is a good one either.

Edit: or figure out a God build :)

Its not like people actually take the time to count the TV stones from your ONE death. Its minimal. Not even rewarding unless you're walking around with 10k stones.

So.... You basically want to deny other players part of the content just because you feel its dumb they can profit from killing you?
