But not anymore, they want the $$$. More people playing, more $$$.

Well some new games are hard to complete, but eso is a mmorpg and they want as many players as possible, cover up everyone.
Of course same goes for other games, but unlike eso they're mostly single player and you can decide if you want to play on hard mode or not.
Witcher 3 hardest mode is a joke tho.

Simply increasing dmg or health of mobs won't do the thing, I want more mechanics, more ways to react in a combat..

What about reactive blocking? oh, and what about dodge rolling attacks that are really deadly! yeah dodge rolling would have to cost more than blocking to be fair...

I really enjoyed the combat in Witcher 3 on Hardest. The humanoid fights were dumb and boring but many of the monster fights, especially when they way out leveled you were fun and a challenge and unlike most games it felt that every monster fight was different and you had to approach them with different tactics (once again when they out levelled you).

Honestly though, no AI in a game is going to compare to real players in a PvP environment. ESO up until now had so many ways to do anything you want and be effective at it that it kept me coming back. I'm going to give IC a chance and try to keep an open mind but if I end up having to rejoin the zerg to be relevant I'm going to go back and finish the Witcher 3 (and all the new DLC etc) while I'm looking for a replacement.

The Elder Scrolls series have been dumbed down since TES4: Oblivion.

-Adds marker to show you EXACTLY where to go
-The world evolves with you (No more "I'm not supposed to be here" factor)
    -Removed skills
    -Removed spellcrafting
    -etc...

Some games are "made" to be tough. But in a ridiculously way, like Dark Souls and such.

I'm actually a fan of the markers given how completely boring the majority of the quests are. Can you imagine having to listen to and read every quest you had to complete in ESO? I'd have quit by level 30....

Until you got that Ekhidna decoction ;)

Witcher 3 on hardest was great in the beginning, a lot of wiping and learning, but its like the game made no adjustments for when you gained levels/skills/oils/gear, so that by half way through the game, it was like rolling through on easy mode. God knows how boring it must have been to play through the whole thing on easy.

But you know MOST people played that game on normal difficulty because MOST people don't like wiping and don't like learning. Same thing we see in ESO.

I can only agree for ESO since there is no real "wow factor" and yes the quests are boring, but it's a developper problem not ours. My point was making a reference to actual good content and dumbing it down to make almost everyone likes it. I remember when I had to actually use my head to find something in a game that was worth the effort. Real RPGs elements in a breath-taking storyline is what I miss since TES3: Morrowind.

Making a game that everyone will like is impossible. If you please to the hardcore player, the casual will suffer. Same thing the other way around.

I'm better get used to it. Video games are not what they used to be. Maybe I can finally go out and find a life.

Mechanics I'm not getting punished for using it, while people who spent more time grinding will just stand in front of me and spam their attacks one after another.
    That's what I mean.
I used bad wording but I also mean something like being able to interrupt heavy attacks, WB and so on.
Also counters to skills like BoL or barrier would be awesome and by counters I don't mean stuff to totally negate them, but helping small groups.

If you really want reactive, strategic combat I always felt games with locked animations like the Witcher or the Soul series is the way to go. Dueling in the souls games is fantastic. (Before anyone chimes in yes I know there were some exploits and broken dueling builds for a while in those games). Basically, with animation canceling you remove the damage/animation time ratio wherein a skill is high damage but requires wind up and thus requires an opening to land. That change would never happen in this game but one can dream.

FENGRUSH never read quests because he did not speak with others in the TES series on his journey to Lordship.
