How about doing away with fixed classes all together. All characters to have the same basic skill line and if you want you can specialise. Specialisation would then be your class skills and you could retrain as necessary to suit your play style.

In fact, with some variation, Nightblade has been a playable class in every Elder Scrolls game except those two, and I think the Travels series.

Considering the current Game is essentially what I suggested except you are locked into a class right from the start without anyway of 'fixing' a class choice mistake other than making a new character I am having a little laugh at your comment.
Yeah, because FoTM isn't ruining this game already.... We need to make it even worse...
