New Classes

Rather than adding a new class, why not just add a new skill line for existing classes? Increase the number of possible builds for each one rather than make a new class and oversaturate the game with this class when it's released?

How about doing away with fixed classes all together. All characters to have the same basic skill line and if you want you can specialise. Specialisation would then be your class skills and you could retrain as necessary to suit your play style.
Retraining could be limited by a quest line, gold, or even time to prevent people changing their character specialisation too often. However once trained in a specialisation you would not need to relevel the skills just as with Vampire/werewolf.
However Speciallisation should not only bring advantages but limitations. example a sorcerer specialisation would mean fabric only clothes. A Templar would mean only heavy Armour etc.
Any class being too popular would definitely mean it was over powered however being available to all it would negate it's short term advantage.

Yeah, because FoTM isn't ruining this game already.... We need to make it even worse...

Although... I'd rather they 'balance' the current classes and fix the racial passives first before they try to add anything else to the game.

I'd rather have Spellcrafting and new skill lines (class specific ones?). I think the four classes are more than enough. All we need is more skills to work with.
    @Aerieth - PC EU Megaserver
Ilatria Shadowcore - Lv 50 Nord Vampire Nightblade - Tank / Stam DPS - Daggerfall Covenant
Maiine Shadowcore - Lv 50 Breton Vampire Nightblade - Magicka DPS - Daggerfall Covenant
Aerieth Shadowcore - Lv 50 Imperial Vampire Nightblade - Healer - Daggerfall Covenant
    From patch notes long forgotten:
"Fixed an issue if you had a summoned pet, it could potentially be grabbed by an invisible Molag-Bal and get stuck in a floating posture."
"Dogs can no longer teleport while chasing cats (much to the disappointment of the dogs)."

ZOS made a mistake by putting classes into ESO in the first place.
You do realize, that Skyrim and Redguard are the only Elder Scrolls titles that don't use a class system, right?

In fact, with some variation, Nightblade has been a playable class in every Elder Scrolls game except those two, and I think the Travels series.

If you ever actually played Morrowind you would know that "class" didn't limit skills, it just gave a boost to starting values and progression. Also you could make up your own class.

    Not like ESO at all
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Instead of new skill lines, expand on current ones such as mages guild. Bump it to level 20 with more skills to unlock, and same for every other as well including vamp and werewolf. Balance will come, it has been and always will be am issue with any mmo. Nerfs and buffs come and go, no point in getting worked up over it.

I want to see classes that bring tactics into PvP.

A Battle Engineer that excels in siege and repairs, good defence, but for the love of humanity don't put a sword in his hands as he'll end up cutting himself with it.

A Trapper, since there are several bottle necks in Cyrodiil, a couple of trappers could make going through them a terrifying experience, but if you do manage to get through, the only offence these guys have is bending on their knees and pleading for mercy.

A Scout, just can not be seen, You could set up a trebuchet right on top one, but as long as the scout doesn't attack, you wouldn't know he's there feeding intelligence to the rest of the faction.

Shaman. There are plenty of them already in game as enemy NPCs why not let us use those skills too?

Because that's something they shamelessly copied from world of warcraft and has never been in an elder scrolls game

And WoW shamelessly copied it from EQ.... your point?

Every good mmo copies what works in others. Wow is no exception. They copied from every failed mmo before them and made it better, I just feel they lost their way in the last couple years. Eso has a good thing going for itself right now. It offers almost something for everyone. I think the classes are fine we just need to expand on what we have and down the road add more skill lines. What other game can you take a mage and tank with if you wanted. That being said, if they do add more skills to a specific skill line (current or new) a person could claim the title of that skill line. For example if mage guild were to be increased to a 20 point line and most most of my skills were in that line I could have the title "mage" instead of "dragon knight" (on an unrelated issue, I wish eso would "steal" wow's trade system, guild traders suck)

Edit: I would also like to have the option to have a 4th "type" of class that everyone could spec into. As it is now templar is only the best healing class in my opinion because of the stanima regen they offer. So you would have a DPS, Tank, and healer obviously and 4th would be the battery.

    Dwemer Engineering skill line.
    Abilities:
    • Summon Dwemer Spider, morphs: Centurion or Sphere (all 3 roughly equal, just different play styles)
    • Overcharged Gyro - ground target AOE lightning damage - where it has a cast time as your character "cooks it" like a grenade before throwing it
    • Spellbreaker - a toggled ability which causes your block animation to hold up the infamous shield in front of you. Taking damage depletes your Magicka pool instead of Stamina (might be OP, eh, figure it out)
    • Control Rod - stick a Dwemer control rod in the ground (requires flat ground, cannot place multiples close together) that steals one useful buff every 5 seconds from a nearby enemy and grants it to the caster
Really we do it without like, the musical instruments. This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important.

Considering the current Game is essentially what I suggested except you are locked into a class right from the start without anyway of 'fixing' a class choice mistake other than making a new character I am having a little laugh at your comment.

i dont want new classes. I admit One new class is possible balanced. but It probably never will be.

    rock, scissors, paper, lizard, Spock
    tumblr_lk9i9xnuPd1qbrxslo1_500.png

but, why make a rock for your own back,

It would be much better to give existing classes more "skills" or more "morphs" to allow more diversity and ability to fulfill a "role" with any race. more stamina morph options and just generally more abilities. Introduce a new magicka and new stamina weapon option. and or weapon ultimates as some others have mentioned. so much to be done with out a wole new re-work

introduce a new skill line like fighters guild/mages guild/undaunted but for say darkbrotherhood or nightingales or w/e when appropriate DLC for that releases.

PSN - WarpPigeon - Guild: TheSyndicate - EU, Ebonheart Pact
    Dragon Knight [Magicka] - 720 - Stormproof
    Night Blade [Magicka] - 720 - Stormproof
    Sorcerer [Magicka] - 720 - Flawless Conqueror
    Templar [Magicka] - 720 - Stormproof
    Dragon Knight [Stamina] - 720 - Stormproof
    Night Blade [Stamina] - 720 - Stormproof
    Sorcerer [Stamina] - 720

It's pretty much between the beastmaster or the necro out of this list since I feel we have the ability to build the rest ourselves with the classes we got.
But more/better/purer beast handling could be added, although I am not interested in this myself.

Wasn't that just the original name for what became the Templar class?
