This poll only gets you a demographic of the forums, nothing more. How many console kiddies use forums? For instance.

Absolutely true. For me, it was truly a just out of curiosity thing (and to help pass the time on a slow day at the office until I can get home and play tonight). It has succeeded though in letting me know that there are more gamers in my particular demo playing than I would have suspected going in.

First game I can remember playing is Spyro on the PS1.

Never fear friend. Middle aged demographic as been the dominating one in MMOs for a long time. :)

I've played other games on Nintendo, Sega, Playstation etc, but this is my first MMO. I wasn't much of a computer game player. I started playing Skyrim after my boyfriend introduced it to me when it came out. I loved it. Now we play ESO together  . Hopefully it won't be my last MMO. Trying to figure out what others I might like.

ESO used to be rated 16+ in Europe before Tamriel Unlimited. Anyhow, M rating doesn't mean younger people can't play. It isn't legally binding in most countries, it's just a guidance stores usually voluntarily adhere to. I know for a fact there are younger teenagers among us.

To answer your question: 22, PC, EU. My first game? I'm not sure,, but some of my earliest gaming memories include Jazz Jackrabbit, Tomb Raider 2 on my friend's Playstation and watching my cousin play GTA Vice City. How's that for "not suitable for children"? :p

Older than dirt here but didn't play computer/console games until I got my first Mac in 1993. My first real game was Myst for which I bought a CD drive and decent speakers along with the game. My first console game was Morrowind and i still prefer console to computer for action games.

There does seem to be a persistent interest in how old we all are since these polls keep reappearing. BTW, I'm also of the female persuasion.

First game was pong, my brother wouldn't let me play the Nes until I graduated on the atari, then moved to a Sega genesis.
Never owned a PC until this year when I bought an HP beats. Always aligned myself with Sony when it came to consoles, but I have a 360 account that has over 500 hours logged on oblivion. Sadly never got to really experience morrowind.

Damn I remember 'Outside' it was a wonderful place with Crab Apple fights , damming streams, building fires .... Those were the days.

Wonder if 'Outside' is ftp or sub based nowadays, I never hear much about it. :)

Expecting anyone below 18 to participate would've been foolish anyway considering how online gaming communities always berate younger audiences. This excludes anyone who may post as a reaction to my post.

The real problem is the lack of a functional UI. I mean, sure, I understand that it was designed with immersion in mind, but the result is that you have no idea what the stats are on anything without doing some serious data mining.

Very cool to see we have such a diverse age range in the game.

I myself am 25. Been playing since '93-'94, as soon as my dad let me get my grubby mitts on his old gray brick of a Gameboy where I would attempt to build and demolish walls in Tetris or get to be the second player in Super Mario World on the good ole' SNES. Thanks to OP for bringing back the great memories :)

    nearly 45 (sept.)

ColecoVision, Atari 2600, Commodore64 (ahh, what wonders could be achieved with only 64K of ram - FFW'ding the tape in the Old's hi-fi to find the program start), Amiga500 (with memory upgrade to a whopping 512K! - does anyone remember the days of demo disks?), Amiga1200, Amiga CD32 (with SX-1 expansion), PentiumPro180 (with a FireGL card), then a few more PC's i built after that. now looking towards my next build in anticipation of Squad being released.
played (PC) mainly shooters - quake, unreal, MoH, BF's and of course the best game ever Joint Operations (with all the mods).
also just managed to fix an ailing, original Donkey Kong game+watch! forgot how much of a challenge it was to get far, lols!
