First, let me say that I am a member and intend to stay that way. It is right in my signature and has been for a while.

I am not seeing a lack of love for the PC platform. Honestly.
    • The game world will be the same.
    • The character abilities will be the same.
    • The quests will be the same.
    • The whole game will be largely the same.

Where the above is concerned, nothing special is happening in the Console arena that will not also be happening in the PC/Mac arena.

The console gets a console specific UI. There will be console specific features, like voice chat, that may or may not come to the PC. The PC gets add-ons and text chat. I would imagine that the console version is just slightly ahead of the PC version, simply due to the development work happening with consoles. I expect that to be corrected in the next Update since it is more development cost to maintain separate code bases, where not appropriate.

I honestly do not feel "like the PC players have been completely swept under the preverbal(sic) rug while they focus on the console" simply because there is console development that has occupied them for 5 months. I do not feel like a beta tester for the console version. Although the console benefits from the bugs fixed in the last year, so does PC/Mac. I also do not see anything that would make it sound like they intend to start sweeping the PC under the rug.
    • PTS will still be PC/Mac only
    • The PC/Mac will get content first, rather than waiting for the console approvals.
    • PC/Mac will likely be very popular with this game due to add-on support and traditional MMO platform bias.
    • Even the bugs in the game will be largely cross platform. Everything from lag to skills not firing or working properly, will probably be seen on all of the platforms.

    ESO Plus

A lot of people think that ESO Plus needs to be enhanced to make it more worth while. I generally do not agree with this, and am happily spending my money on membership. I want the 10% boost because I have no max level characters and all of my characters are currently leveling something. That right there is the #1 reason now, and the #2 reason overall. I have been spending the Crowns that come with it, but that is the #3 reason. Once DLC start coming out, those will be my #1 reason.

I really have little interest in most of the ideas that have come up for how to expand or improve ESO Plus. What I really want from ESO Plus is the potential to play the game without having to pay individually for features and function. This means DLC, but also anything else that they might add that would be appropriate to include in a subscription. I am not subscribing because I want a pet, or a discount, or a special mount, or the Trophy of the Month, or perks like that. I just want to play the game without having to think about spending Crowns on more than the sort of stuff that is currently in the store.

Now, if a player has max level characters already and does not need the Crowns, or wants to purchase them at a lower price, I can certainly see why ESO Plus would not be as attractive. I can certainly understand why people would not want to spend that money for 10% that they don't need, or for Crowns that can be purchased for less money. That might change when DLC comes out.

New console players should definitely consider ESO Plus just for the Crowns and 10%. I think that this will be a benefit early in the life of the game due to the transfers.

As mentioned Psycho - these are the main reasons I hear day in and day out.

I have also left a job for ethical reasons (ironic as I'm in recruitment a cynical person might say :)) - but certainly people who do that are in the minority. Rather un-surprisingly, this can change depending on the economic situation you/your country is in at the time. When times are hard, people are more fearful for their jobs and have dependencies, so are stuck between a rock and a hard place. When the market is buoyant, people grow stronger and stand more to their will.

The landscape is always changing in game development- not just MMOs. And Nick's been gone a while. Though the reasons are nebulous, using the same level of verification and reporting (linkedin apparently) you can see that he left in March, and started work with riot in May. That might imply... he was let go? And spent a couple of months looking for a job?

You get a 10% to XP gain, you get 1500 crowns every month, DLC access. The only aspect that would be remotely worth it right now is the 1500 crowns. However the items in the crown store aren’t anything but cosmetic items.

My words exactly. Stop with that convenience and cosmetic only nonsense and give us some proper P2W stuff. Yeah, I know some stuff is in fact P2W already, but with all that camouflage against P2W alarmists, how are we credit card warriors supposed to identify and buy it?

    That article was hilarious.

"The other reason I canceled my subscription is because there is no added perk benefits month to month. If you own the game you get all of the content that is available for free. Nothing is locked behind a pay wall, you’re experience gain isn’t slowed down."

So basically, that guy is complaining that when ZOS switched the game to B2P, they actually didn't switch it to P2W (or if-you-don't-hand-out-cash-you-can't-do-anything). Now that's the first time I've read that argument against a game.

Call it what ever you like. Problem is MMORPG hits a lot of PC/MAC users, this is NOT good for ZoS.

I've never heard of it, been gaming my whole life. Gamespot is my site of choice. And even their silly "7" score didn't deter me.

You're looking to justify yourself and your decision to quit the game. Bad news, tons of people are having fun in the game and you're missing out.

I canceled my sub the day they announced B2P and the cash store. It was overwhelmingly obvious that I had been paying $15/month to beta test for consoles since launch, and that made me want to throw up.

I frequent the forums just to see the current state of the game, and it's right where I thought it would be. Glad I jumped ship when I did.

I don't understand this. It's like people can't google for accurate statistics. ESO hit it's peak low in November/December and is now more popular than it was 1 year ago in June, and is well on its way to surpass its all-time popularity.

What about more people playing the game makes it any better? From what I gather it's still a worse game than when I quit, with nothing new added but a cash store, and Cyrodil performance is still completely screwed.

And did you just link Google search popularity for ESO? Like, when all of the buzz around B2P was coming out?

The best thing about an opinion is that I don't need other people to agree with it. I feel the game is taking off in an awful direction and decided to stop supporting it. Nothing so far has proved to me that I made the wrong decision.

And sure B2P/F2P/cash shop games get an influx of new players, because it's a low entry fee. That type of environment usually creates a terrible community that only sticks around for a month or two, spends some money in the cash store, and then moves on to the next F2P game that everyone is talking about.

My comment was less about your opinion and more about your statement "the game is right where I thought it would be", followed by a "glad I jumped ship". Essentially you foresaw a massive influx of new players and a recovery in the large decline of the game's player base and thought "I'd better get out while I can".

EDIT: It's totally fine if you want a practically single-player MMO due to the almost non-existent player base. If that's your preference, I encourage your leave.

The flaws in this article are

A ) All he talks about is ZOS talking about console. Yes, of course they are going to, because that's their big plans at the moment. He expects them to discuss PC related advancements, but there aren't any to be had. What exactly was he hoping they'd be doing? Isn't their horrific track record indication enough that if consoles weren't on the horizon it would still be worthless business as usual?

B ) Subscription is irrelevant to making his points. All of the fundamental flaws of ESO, affect everyone, subscribers and non plus members alike.

We're all in the crapper together.

One thing we should all agree with consoles, those players are more of a run and hit gamers. Sure a lot and I mean lot will buy and play then a new game will hit and boom ESOTU will be a ghost town. PC/MAC is where ZoS should be leaning toward for loyal players.

What a bull****. MMOs that are available for PC and consoles are making more money and are played more on console than on PC. And that's not an opinion, that's a fact based on numbers published by the developers of such MMOs. If you are such a frequent reader of sites like MMORPG.com, you would know that.

So you are really just a crybaby screaming for attention.

Watch out dude, recent mod crack downs on people with free thinking minds and opinions is still getting squashed.

I expect your comment will get removed for 'circumventing' the profanity filter by using asterisks ***, and also aiming an 'angry' comment at someone directly and personally.

Instead what you should do, is edit the post and spell the full world properly, so the filter blocks it. Then you should remove and use of the 'you' pronoun and say 'people' instead.

More people do not create a better game, they are the result of it. Or at least a reflection that a lot of people enjoy it...

So you think that the lack of content, lack of bug fixes, lack of performance improvements, overwhelming console focus and cash store focus are good for the longevity and the quality of the game?

Oh good. Even more whining. I wasn't tired of seeing it on the forums yet.

Who said I quit? I have supported them from beta to now, 2 days left on sub. Just can't justify to support them any more. Everything he stated is true only people that refuse to see the truth can't see it I guess.

If you haven't heard of MMORPG then you must not be very old. They been around a long time, pretty sure Gamespot was way after them. Guess you haven't heard of Massively op or even Kotaku. You need to game more.
