No, because everyone who is playing doomsayer and crying out that this is the end of ESO... they ARE pessimistic. Just a fact. They are taking every little addition to the game as p2w and are freaking out.
How about just... seeing what happens. Doubt it will be as bad as you think.
Either way, things aren't going to change. I will bet money on that, regardless of all the doomsaying and complaints. People will leave, and 20 more that don't care will replace them.
I, for one, will continue to enjoy the game, ragardless of the changes. Because I still find it fun, and I'm not going to let something this insignificant ruin my enjoyment.
And this is why these companies will always go down the P2W route.1 -

No.I alredy have all of them unlockd so no. If i didn't unlock motifs however and crafting were playing more important role in this game then yes i'd purchase rare motifs at least. In any case for the moment it'd be a waste of money cuz best gear comes from drops, and those few parts that you have to craft...well it doesnt matter how they look. You gotta cover it up with a costume anyway usually.0 -

I don't plan on doing so.
But if I see some armour/clothing that I like and I need to buy a Motif to get it I might just do so (I'm a bit on impulse buyer, especially with things like Crowns awarded because I have a Sub).
But I won't be spending real money on extra Crowns, if I can't afford it with my "free" Crowns then I'll go without.

My vote is, as the motif situation stands, no. However, this is only because I already have every available motif in game currently unlocked on my crafter. If new styles were to be added, it is a firm maybe

I am actually really unhappy that after all of that time and effort, the racial motifs can now just be bought from the crown store. I feel I have wasted all of that time for nothing...

✭I won't now since I already have all of them. I might if there are new ones in the future. I don't really mind either way, I work 40-60 hours a week for $. Might as well spend some of that so I don't have to do the boring stuffs in my free time.
I can see why they did it and I'm OK with it, it will still be the same to get it in game and it's expensive enough that people who have time to farm it probably won't buy for $. But good for those who don't spend 26/7 in game and still want a specific style.0 -

It's really not like that. Plus plenty of us would miss you and you contributions to this forum...well...I would certainly.
Stuff like this should be for sale. Plus it makes sense that they'd offer for sale first those things:
1. They have already and...
2. Don't require a lot of implementation work, unlike Race Change Tokens or Scrolls, makeover scrolls, character slots...things that require you to edit the core character data file and change their account data files.
Again, personally my concern is strictly price and its effect on building the community.
The basic blue motifs are going from 50-200 gold now. If a new player buys them for high RM prices, albeit through virtual currency, only to find that they're available in game for a few minutes worth of corpse loot, how relationship building would that be?
It's quite the opposite of elitism actually.
ZOS is learning as they go. Remember they have no experience in this. Topics like this reveal the mixed concerns that need to go into their calculations and may help inform them as they build this part of their business.
