Well, those motifs from packs are not bind on pickup, so there is some room... Will see.
*curious when master's weapons and high-end sets will be available in crown store*
I find it hard to take anything you post seriously anymore, just feels as if you're looking for things to pick at now. Who cares if motifs are on the crown store, it's just as Zenimax said small convenience items, stop posting stuff like oh I fear such and such gear will be on the crown store, it obviously wont the general response is against it.Attorneyatlawl wrote: »CombatBeard wrote: »CombatBeard wrote: »This is bad news. Armor and weapons and damage boosters would be bad news. I don't see how these cosmetics are anywhere near bad news.jamesharv2005ub17_ESO wrote: »CombatBeard wrote: »This is bad news. Might as well just put vr14 characters in there while they're at it.
What? All a motif does is let you make armor that looks cosmetically a certain way. It does nothing to add to the stats on the armor.
It affects the game economy and the ability for players to earn gold. Also it's simply the begging of a barrage of crown store items that will eventually lead to being able to purchase anything with real money.
This. It's rather obvious what this trend is going towards. And I'd also point out that gold can buy top end gear in ESO, so saving 200k gold that you'd have otherwise spent directly benefits your character power as you can go buy a nice set item instead. Add in that it hits the game economy by devaluing ways to earn gold while also inflating the economy some since you can get skill respecs too. I'm pretty sure we're going to see EXP potions that boost your champion xp soon and then it's game over, outright pay to win directly (champion points boost your stats, passives, and character strength, so earning at a high rate would give you a huge boost over others who don't pay up to win in a very short time, and within matter of weeks to a couple of months the gap would become huge).
As for EXP Potions, you're going to use them, you know you will, everyone else will too. Zenimax knows you, you and I know it so don't bother with the same old P2W comment, you get 1500 crowns for subscribing each month that will be used on EXP Potions, Zenimax need a certain item to keep people subscribed don't they?
Same old boring argument annoying to read now

Of course it is.
Cash shop is where they will get their profit from now on,,,so just sit back and "enjoy" the ride ;/
(wtb subscription based mmo....)
Considering how vehemently ZOS insisted that free/buy to play was so much worse than a subscription model and the basically would never consider doing it, I was hopeful this game wouldn't go to it and the pay to win model. Guess I was wrong... I'll have to take a closer look at CU's progress since I was a kickstarter alpha backer in 2013 for them. Maybe it won't end up as good a game or maybe it will, but at least it won't be pay to winand you know someone didn't just buy that awesome gear and looks for cash but actually played the game to get it.
What is CU? I may be in the market for something else.

Woohoo I am all in, especially if it would get me a new "greedy green" dye I can pair with slaughterfish pink on my armor!Awesome idea! Oh and now that ZOS is in the business of putting the items needed for in-game achievements in the crown store, when should we expect to see creature collectibles available for purchase so we can unlock those achievement dyes too?Now anyone can buy the Rare Style Master achievement! Why not skip to the chase and just add crown store purchases to the achievements? After 1000 purchases we could unlock the "greedy green" armor color!
Gasp! Yes!! Ooooh, and and how about adding for crown purchase the rare fish for the fishing achievements?! Heck, why not go really crazy and offer auto-completion tokens for any and all of the achievements?!
I think it's amusing how many people think that this will ruin the motif economy. How many people do you think will be willing to spend $50 on a motif, when it's so easy to get gold or just farm them in game? Not to mention they give absolutely no advantage. It's 16,500 crown to buy all motifs from the crown store, that's $165. If someone is lazy enough to fork out that much money, let them.
I doubt it will change prices by more than 10%, if it does at all.

Your attempts at baiting is pretty bad, considering I have bragging rights anyway, but no point to boast around my achievements that you don't have or will get.Attorneyatlawl wrote: »I find it hard to take anything you post seriously anymore, just feels as if you're looking for things to pick at now. Coming from someone who posted to complain about the sanctum ophidia speed run achievement being easier now and that you were upset it didn't mean much to show off for bragging rights, that's an interesting position you take here not caring at all about real money just buying that kind of thing. I don't think you've tried an mmo before that went b2p and the inevitable p2w slide from the look of it. Coming soon to a crown store near you we'll see achievements for dyes and gear sets up too.
