Sit with same feeling as a magicka/spellpower based NB wondering "did they just rob me of what little free will the morphs gave!?" ....What good is a stamina based ambush? For a magicka based NB ? Looking forward to see this on PTS/live ..Please tell me it aint as bad as this sounds, forced morph choice depended on choice of resource (yes i am aware that i can still use ambush ,but with zero stamina the damage of ambush will be close to non existent)

Hehe, now you know what I'VE been dealing with up until this point! MUAHAHAH

To elaborate, I run a stamina setup and have used ambush in my build for reasons specific to the manner of gap closer it is and the damage bonus of course.

All the while enduring the pitiful damage scaling with having like 1500 magicka and no spell power increases.

However, all joking aside, regardless of all I've just said that doesn't exactly make it fair. It really ends up being forced morph choices based on your resource pool as mentioned and that's pretty screwed up no matter how you look at it.

If lotus fan as a morph were any good, that would be one thing, but it's really not. And even then it's a very niche ability change tacked on to a very vital combat mechanic (gap closer).

An overhaul to lotus fan is needed (imo one that just makes it a simple single target damaging gap closer with an added effect of similar importance to the damage buff) for this particular change to not screw over magicka melee nightblades.

Yup. I ranted about this already. ZOS completed ruined the opportunity to offer MORE choice but instead nerfed some builds hard in order to give stam builds more options.

They failed to notice that a magicka based nightblade (and this can go for other classes too) actually doesn't have many options to take outside of class abilities. We only get 2 weapons to choose and one has no attack options. Every stamina weapon and skill outside of the class is near pointless to take because what stamina magicka builds has must be kept in reserve for dodge, block and sprint. Stamina builds do not have to worry about this and their base ability costs are cheaper.

What most do not understand is that magicka builds are heavily utility based because they can't use dodge, sprint and block effectively. ZOS just nerfed the shiite out of us when all they had to do was find a way for some class abilities to be useful to BOTH builds instead of one or the other.

ZOS just shifted the piles of Guar dung from one group of players to another.

This so far is my only major gripe. I do like many changes and some of what is lost can be made up elsewhere. Some will still be 100% screwed over by these changes with specific builds when it did not have to be this way.

    @templar_von_midgard‌

I don't really see how that build is hurt in any way? Ever nightblade ability you use has a stamina option other then dark cloak. Soul tether scales off what ever is higher between stam and magicka. The only thing you lose is the heal on sap essence but you will be gaining the ability to hit more targets with power extraction and the damage was increase on power extraction. Also Soul Tether now tethers up to 6 targets which will do more damage and provide a lot more healing.

This also free up your gear investment you have getting both spell power and weapon damage. You can drop spell power and invest in getting more raw stats or now sense there are no softcaps more weapon damage.

If anything your build got better. You should be happy for the buffs.

You got it all wrong, my build was a Magicka build, with weapon power to make Whirling Blades useful.
So I actually lost the spirit of my build. (Being a Nightblade lore-wise)

Biggest change is in consuming darkness

You either go bolstering and survive
or you go Veil and do a little bit of damage

Veil is now inferior in every way to bolstering.

If you use concealed weapon and impale your build would pretty much function the same. Depending on how often you use cloak you could move that to the second bar and take mark for the armor debuff and heal. That will heal more then the killer blades heal and give you the same debuff to there armor, plus you could take the morph that increase your damage for 8 sec after you kill the marked target.

I don't think it's too bad for magicka builds. I prefer impale and concealed weapon personally. The loss of ambush for magicka might be rough depending on personal preference and play style.

Use lotus fan! How i understand the change:

Ambush got a general nerf. Instead of boosting next attack by 36%, you get a minor berserk buff for next attack, which is an 8% increase.

So now magicka-based lotus fan is not so far behind. The actual damage of the 2 abilities is the same, only lotus fan deals half of it as a DOT(but the DOT is aoe). Instead of 8% boost to next attack, you apply an AOE snare.

The ambush->soul harvest combo is no longer as powerful as it used to be, even for stamina NB's

I saw nothing about Sap Essence losing it's heal. The only thing they said was that it will buff Spell Damage instead of Weapon Damage in 1.6. This is a GREAT thing for Magicka based Sap users.

EDIT: On PTS right now, Sap Essence does exactly what it did before but now also grants Spell Damage.

I'm worried that the listed change to Shadowy Disguise means that it now turns attacks into critical hits rather than simply buffing critical rate.

Would someone who can get on the PTS mind testing for me to see if using Shadowy Disguise in conjunction with Restoration Staff heals still results in criticals on the healing or not?
Could you also check if it still buffs the Spell and Weapon critical stats while invisible as it does on Live?

It was kind of the cornerstone of my PvP healer's build, but I don't have the enough download capacity to check it out on the PTS for myself.

I just tested the bolded with combat prayer. Shadowy Disquise appears to have a 100% chance to crit heal with combat prayer.

It also does buff the critical stats while invisible, but the numbers are a little wonky at the moment. For example: Spell crit reads as 401.6% unbuffed, 2410.4% buffed.

Edit; The wierd crit values were due to an addon (I assume the softcap addon.)

As far as i can tell stamina nb's just got hit hard in pvp. I can barely use a few of my skills before i'm drained of all stamina then dead in the dirt.

Considering adding some heavy armor, or making a magicka hybrid.

Bar 1 : DW Quick Cloak, Blood Crash, Ambush, Siphoning Strikes, Mass Hysteria, Soul Harvest
Bar 2 : Shadow Cloak, Poison Inject, Magnum Shot, Siphoning Strikes, Shadow Image, Flawless

Can't even seem to 1v1 anything, messing around with the build but as far as I can tell all stamina builds are going to need to change things up

One indeed has stamina regen, only 8 or 10 percent though I don't remember. The other increases the damage of the proc activation and adds a 40% movement speed reduction to said proc.
