-"Barbershop" Character modification and name changes

I disagree with this, this should not be something you have to spend real money for. It would be great instead for a gold sink in game. Please don't sell characters modifications! :/

    +1

"The history of the barber pole is intertwined with the history of barbers and their bloodletting practices. Patients would tightly grasp a rod or staff tightly so their veins would show, and the barbers would cut open their arms and bleed them until they fainted. Later, when leech therapy became popular (they allowed for more controlled bleeding), leeches were applied directly to the vein areas.
After the procedure, the barbers "washed" the bandages which were hung outside on a pole to dry, and to advertise the therapeutic specialities offered in the barbershop. Flapping in the wind, the long strips of bandages would twist around the pole in the spiral pattern we now associate with barbers"

historically haircuts were just something "Barbers" did to get at wounds or locations to cut someone open.
although i kind of wish you could get ur vamp/WW cure from being barbed ;)

Why? Porting to a wayshrine costs pittance anyway, and walking to one (they're not really very far apart) is free.

Because people would buy them.

    * Unique hairstyles or different colors (e.g. you can't dye Khajiit mohawks the same hue as Razum-Dar's).

    * Battle flags tour can wear similar to those worn in DSA.

    * The ability to re-craft armor (and let me change the motif and trait). As a Khajiit, I only wear Khajiiti armor... but almost no set/drops come in that flavor.

    WHAT I DO NOT WANT
    * No "jet black" or neon dyes. As a former UO player and staffer, this drove me crazy. It murders immersion. Coldharbour Black is pretty good. A little darker? Maybe. But not jet black.

    * Anything that gives another player an edge or boost UNLESS the person has met a certain req. Aka, you completely maxed out a character to VR14 and want an alt leveled, too. Rather than grind, grind, grind... a boost could be viable here.

I can tell you what we DON'T want: gear/consumables superior to what we can get in-game.

Please, keep that out of the cash shop.

Telling us what you don't want to see is fine as well. :)

With that in mind, please either kindly remove the uber-soul gems now offered on the Crown Store which have no level requirement, or offer similar soul gems in game. As far as I know, there are no soul gems in game that do not have a level requirement. I have played the PTS a good bit, and have gotten all the standard soul gems. Thanks.

Race change! Perhaps even incorporate it trough face sculptor including sex change and visual changes ofcourse!
Yes, I agree. Tokens, or similar would be great for:
    • Race
    • Gender
    • Name
They're fairly common in such game stores, and for very good reason.

I would love to be able to convert all my looted sets (warlock, adroitness etc) into my racial style. In-character I dont like wearing other racials styles. And maybe also turn them into a tunic/skirt instead of it being a robe. I dont like wearing dresses.
What a wonderful idea. The mechanics are already in-game for those of us whom have the imperial edition of the game. So some token that would unlock the ability to do it for another racial style would be superb. They could have a token for each racial style in the store that we'd unlock for our account. You could purchase your altmer and I my redguard.
    Great idea!

You can't buy triple pots in the in-game shops, so I don't think they'll put them in the Crown Store. They said that it won't include anything better than craftables, and tri-pots are only craftable. None of the current Convenience items are replicas of craftable-only items, and I think it should stay that way.

i belive ur a crafter player, good for u. I dont have patience to pass hours colecting flowers, and i pass 6h/day in cyro so i spent near 50k every day in potions buying them from other player.
Give to crafter players the monopoly of the triple potion is raise the price to much in game.
And like i said, they dont need to be as good as the crafted potions, but the potions they put in crown store now are useless with that cooldown time and the Q system.
U dont need be that greedy in this game, nothing to do with the gold anyway so far, so why raise so much the pots if u get a bank full of gold and nothing to buy with it?

My point was not based on tri-pots themselves, but the general notion that the Crown Store should not sell items that are only obtainable through crafting, as you would then be paying for a crafted item (whether its stats are lower or not). If you could buy tri-pots from vendors in-game - and I would have no issue with that - then I would also have no issue with them being on sale in the Crown Store. But until tri-pots are available to buy from vendors, they should not be in the Crown Store.

if i could add one more thing, on the wish list:

make our monthly crown loyalties -count-. Most games, your monthly stipend is not enough for nearly anything of note, so you always need to buy more. And more, and more crowns. Which evidently leads you to drop your sub, because let's face it, it is a rip off. Please do not go there :)

I couldn't agree more! I'm not super concerned with what all ends up in the crown store as long as the items never make the game pay-to-win in the slightest or become lore breaking. But I really want to feel like my monthly crown stipend is worth it if I sub! Obviously I shouldn't be able to buy the whole store-worth of items with one month's stipend but on the same token I don't want the only thing I can buy to be those darn potions that I don't appreciate being in the store either.

If I had to place something on the wish list though... I have a few ideas:

RP: I don't personally do this but anything that further encourages role playing in game such as a Bard costume that comes with new bard-themed emotes or songs and anything non-pvp/pve effecting along those lines.

Arrow skins: even if they don't effect how firing the arrows looks I'd like to be able to look at my quiver and see arrows made of something cooler than the standard iron!

Achievement based items: aka crown store items that unlock for you to buy ONLY after you've completed some major achievement in-game (or honestly you could just put more of these in-game, as much as I love the extra titles/dyes I think achievements should be able to unlock more than those)

Skins that show player devotion to a specific Daedric Prince or to one or all of the Divines.

More Vampire/Werewolf Skins: note I feel this could just be a game addition also rather than a crown store item depending on whether or not it would effect gameplay.

Skins for crafting stations: maybe we want to see more epic looking alchemy tables?

And just like everyone else has stated w/ "barber shops" to make name/appearance changes.

More "clothing" I've noticed throughout this game, unlike TES games in the past, we have no options to simply wear non-enhancement related clothes. I gather that costumes are meant to replace those but we could definitely use more than just the crafter and jester costumes if that is indeed the case.

So, there are a few of my ideas, I hope they were helpful!

an in-game store where you can purchase customization and convenience items.
    1con·ve·nience
    noun \kən-ˈvēn-yən(t)s\

: a quality or situation that makes something easy or useful for someone by reducing the amount of work or time required to do something
A boost to VR14 would clearly fall into that category, wouldn't it and since F2P means there's no extra revenue for you by making people take longer than they want to then there's no reason not to offer this, is there?

    game
    /ɡām/

    noun
    1. a form of play or sport, especially a competitive one played according to rules and decided by skill, strength, or luck.
synonyms: pastime, diversion, entertainment, amusement, distraction, divertissement, recreation, sport, activity

    en·ter·tain·ment
    /en(t)ərˈtānmənt/

    noun
the action of providing or being provided with amusement or enjoyment.
"everyone just sits in front of the TV for entertainment"
    synonyms:
amusement, pleasure, leisure, recreation, relaxation, fun, enjoyment, interest, diversion
    "he reads for entertainment"

ESO, like any other MMO, is a game generally played for entertainment. If at any time, you feel that logging on is going to work, it's probably time to find another pastime. Every day I see people trying to power-level characters, and at the same time other people trying to complete low level content with over-leveled characters because they missed it when power-leveling. There seems to be some belief that life begins at VR14. Then when people get there, they wander around complaining about doing the same dailies or dungeons, or they're clueless about how to really play their characters because they didn't learn how while leveling.

Yes, I understand once you've leveled one character and done the quests, in order to do the same for another you have to do the same thing. That's one of the things about the game design. I will say, without any spoilers for those who haven't experienced it, that ZOS has modified its Coldharbour quest arc when starting new characters in Update 1.6. They've introduced gradual changes with each Veteran dungeon, which adds to the storyline so it's not just the same dungeon with the same monsters with the same mechanics plus one or two extra abilities.

My point is, there's more to be had than just jumping to the end, even if you've done it before. It's not like WoW, where you have 50 character slots. After all, who can go through the same stuff 50 times? You've got 8 slots, 16 if you're playing both NA and EU megaservers. And only an infinitesimal number of players are max-leveling 8 characters.

It's a game. It's here for entertainment. If you're not enjoying it, you're not seeing the same stuff I'm seeing, and I don't think you're playing the same game, because I'm not working. I'm playing.

    Costumes:
    1. 5 companions costumes, other than Mannimarco which we already have (Lyris, Prophet, Sai Sahan, Abnur Tharn).
    2. Yokudan invader/conqueror costume as shown on the Ash'abah quest, The Initiation, when we play as Prince Haqmir.
    3. Lich costume.

It would also be great if you can make costumes become available on parts...you know, we can mixmatch costume parts with other costume parts of different part and/or armor motifs to create a uniqe look and more in-depth immersion.

    Mount:
    Warhorse with armour.

    Dye:
    Weapon dye
    Shield dye

    Misc:
    1. Ring of Mara specialized to marry some NPC that won't break quests and not to become a follower on battle (at most behave like a pet).
    2. House.

I would actually really like to see rare or green motifs come into gameplay eventually, just further customizations to existing motifs for example:

Remember how people were mad about the change to the redguard's light armor helm? Make that a green motif variant that can be added to a blue redguard motif book, make them easier to find but enough of them to make it difficult to collect them all. I would be okay with green or MAYBE blue motif books or pages being in the crown store but NOTHING purple or better

    This.

Again, Lord of the Rings Online used their "VIP" monthly virtual currency allowance to subscribers the way drug dealers offer you a "taste" of whatever drug they're pushing.

Click the buy more shinies button and you're presented you with a best deal quantity price of 400 bucks.

But Gina, you asked for what we want, not our MMO trauma flashbacks.

I'd like to see some of items that have zero tactical value but are ludicrously rare in the game. Two examples come to mind:

    1. Hood of the Voidguide - the Ashlander headpiece. A novelty or roleplaying piece of clothing.

    AndalaAshlander_zps36a39c32.png

    3. Encasement of Anguish. The Anguish set is the Dark Seducer costume broken into pieces as armor rather than as a costume. This is the chest piece.

    What%20Type%20of%20Daedric%202_zpstbtc6xgr.png

Okay, so I have a third that does not exist in the game:

    3. Costumes that show some leg.....a skirt or a slit in a long skirt. A slit in a skirt can't hurt.

This game doesn't care if you show cleavage or bare bellies while walking like you're advertising your services as a Nightflower. Why this thing with covering legs? You can't expose most everything else and still call it armor. It's clothing.

Closest we have is this and it's meant for Argonians....and has that strange strap around the thigh:

    Andala%20Argonian_zps5r4flii4.png

    Many thanks

Also, since we have cleavage baring clothing, can we PLEASE have some that does NOT also have some huge awkward-looking neck and/or shoulder covering? It's pointless as armor on these styles to begin with and really just looks pretty silly. Let's have some stuff that does away with it please!

And while you're at it, PLEASE get rid of those ridiculous-looking floating "hip guards!" We hate them! We really, REALLY do!

Those damned tassets, I hates them. They're ugly and so out of place on anything that's not heavy armor. I actually tried keeping a lvl 20ish (26 I think) chestpiece well into the Vet levels because the tassets are so awful. Seriously, I go all Golem about them... "Take it off! It burns us!" If you're character has slim hips it's so much worse, there's a lot of daylight between the body and those pieces or retread tires they painted up as armor.

My request for Crown Store is a "Create your own Costume". You put on all the pieces, color them as you like and have it preserved as a costume. Then the high level armor can be as ugly as ZOS wants and my character can still look good.

NO! No no no no, a thousand times no! That's the first step to making the game Pay-to-win and ushering a massive inflation of the price of items in guild shops. If they do something like that it means that a few high-spenders will just be able to throw loads and loads of cash in the game in order to gain the upper hand. That's pay-to-win for you. It would completely break the game, and it would lead to so many of us cancelling our subscriptions and moving to different games.

As I would like ZOS to have all the income necessary for a very long and happy TESO life, I will add a "killer" suggestion (to me) : FINISHERS !.

On dead bodies, you can "F" interact (like werewolf devour) and perform custom moves with blade, dagger, or anything else...

With 2H weapons, when you kill an humanoid enemy he has 10% of standing one second motion less in front of you to "F" decapitate him...

Things like this... like in the Skyrim universe / Mortal Kombat franchise.

It"s a cosmetic feature that has the advantage not to give P2W advantages and offers unlimited possibilities of crown items for each Skill Line.

You could also propose alternative animations of our moves : flurry, uppercut... etc. (but still less sexy than finishers).
