Patch v1.5.3 – What happened?

Must have missed said bug, yesterday my xp bar was at 8%, today it bumped up to 35%.

I do indeed know someone who stopped playing ESO after reaching veteran rank cause he found it too grindy... Well it was slow when compared to the "normal" levels but i for one actually enjoy questing and never really considered quests to be a grind, so for me it was perfect the way it was before 1.5 was out. And no, i dont have any V14 toon, currently at V4.

With that said i have trouble understanding whats the hurry to reach V14, i mean ive had no trouble finding groups and doing the daily undaunted pledges, Cyro etc and im not being left out cause of my level/gear.

But i can understand some people might have less time to play than me (and yes i do have a job and a real life), but what i fear is that those complaining how slow it was, soon will be V14s complaining they have nothing else to do...

I see, well in your previous post you were talking about a 3-day period. Since patch hit yesterday (today for me in EU) you couldn't have experienced the 1.5.4 patch for 3 days, could you?

Who knows maybe your char is bugged indeed.

Alright, all I've wanted lately is for them to fix the damn xp issues. I can live with the rest of the bugs for now when I can at least gain levels.

The problem here is that, that which was supposed to be did not translate to that which actually was. The intention was that it should go faster, but the actuality was that it went slower following 1.5.2. I think it's too early to say yet whether 1.5.4 has restored this to the intended "slightly faster".

Aah, I see. That's probably because they lowered the exp required to level from 1.5 mil to 1 mil and you could have made like 1+ level's worth of exp in 3 days easy I guess, if you play a lot. I hear they're aiming for 12-15 hours to be needed to level at vr.

Far as I can tell, Taunt still broken, Volatile Familiar still broken.

Many CC's don't seem to function on cue (not regarding the now-CC-immune critters).

Anyone else still having issue with this?

This didn't happen to me until Thursday's update. Earlier this week, I did some more questing in Rivenspire, closed some dolmens, and did some world bosses and went from around 500,000 XP to 855,000 XP and thought - yeah...I'm over halfway to V4!

Then, last night (Thursday), I logged in and suddenly I'm less that a quarter of the way to V4. Still have my 855,000 XP, but now I need to get over 3M more XP instead of around 600,000 XP? WTF!

This didn't happen to me until Thursday's update. Earlier this week, I did some more questing in Rivenspire, closed some dolmens, and did some world bosses and went from around 500,000 XP to 855,000 XP and thought - yeah...I'm over halfway to V4!

Then, last night (Thursday), I logged in and suddenly I'm less that a quarter of the way to V4. Still have my 855,000 XP, but now I need to get over 3M more XP instead of around 600,000 XP? WTF!

The 4M per rank is an UI error. You WILL get the next rank at 1M already.
4M per rank is to much. Zenimax said so. 1M is way to little. They are looking at exp gains atm.

Your report looks like mine. About 300k-400k exp per evening. Those who just do quests and kill bosses will not get this though. Zenimax said very, very kindly to ask people to try a different playstyle.

Good advice.

Dolmens are an awesome way to get exp btw. I wonder how many vet players who camps lower level dolmens instead of doing Vet area dolmens?

Cyrodiil is full of dolmens! All pretty much active.

Thanks, Cogo! I posted this comment after seeing someone else's post about the same issue, but after reading through more of the thread, I learned that it's a UI issue.

Incidentally, I think I only closed one dolmen and did one, maybe two, world bosses - the rest was actually from quests, and killing lots of mobs while harvesting. I usually travel off-road hunting for ore and the like, so I tend to encounter a lot of mobs.

I soloed a V9 dolmen last night and from the start through the end I received just over 5200 xp. Opening a treasure chest gives me 915 xp, killing a troll 835 xp. Killing a group of three humanoids gets 1235 xp.

I've been here since the start. The launch was terrible but they quickly fixed it up and made it much, much, much more better! The game is after all not even officially a year old... So, give it time guys. They're releasing the new Champion System bits by bits to not overwhelm you with large changes and a big patch. So, be patient, small bits can cause major issues or small issues. But overall, yes the patch was iffy and annoyed most of us.... But, I know that they will be working hard to fix this. I am much appreciated of their time.

Some may be raging over this, some may have issues over this..... But HEY! its a game, and all games have their iffy moments when they release bits by bits, or try and alter something for the better of players.

Ex:I mean look at Windows 9 (Its skipping because they can't fix the coding failure that happened.)

You all have your own thoughts, many are angry. I just started a new character in the mean time. No harm done.

** I know the VR system is screwed at the moment, but we are part 2 of 5 of removing VR 100%.... So yah!

** I hope they fix it because my Vet won't level until then!

Has anyone seen the bug where if you have the Darkshade Caverns quest along with the "undaunted daily" quest, you cannot complete both quest simultaneously? I reproduced this bug about twice on different toons and had to get everyone in my group to drop the dungeon quest, complete the pledge, then go back and complete the Darkshade Caverns quest separately.

Just reached V4 this weekend. And I can confirm that it's only 1M needed to reach the next level. Even though I was 990K (or so) of 4M (according to the UI), I still leveled up to V4 when I turned in a quest.

Also, all I really did was continue with the quests in Rivenspire, complete a few delves, killed enemies/mobs as I was harvesting, as well as my daily crafting writs. I didn't even really have to grind, but I guess the way I play - doing a variety of things and liking to take my time/explore - is too slow/boring for others.

Maybe the XP gain is still broken, but I'm now V4 and still haven't finished Rivenspire (I still have Northpoint and then dealing with Montclair and whatever else is left).
