There is so much hate and intolerance among ESO players, its just sad.

That is pretty much 90% of the internet now. I was thinking about it the other day and when MMOs were first around there was still negativity and hate but nothing close to the scale you see now. I think that was because the internet was not nearly as common, people had not grown up with it yet and they were super happy to have it. People didn't *** about every detail of a game because the entire idea of having a massive online game was just awesome. Even the idea of being able to easily communicate with thousands of players on the boards was pretty awesome. Now people have just taken it for granted and pretty much just use it to vent and expect everything the way they want it now.
People that have grown up with being on the internet their whole lives don't value it, they expect it. They use it as a platform to complain about everything. Look at any famous persons twitter feed you will see people bash them for every single possible thing. Not everyone uses it like that but it seems way more common. People are far more likely to make a post about something they are mad about then something they are satisfied with.

Not so much the game, but the community. There is so much hate and intolerance among ESO players, its just sad. PVE players hate on PVP, solo gamers on group and everyone hates Roleplayers ...
Its so massive already that ,every new feature that doesn't fit the taste of specific people causes tons of "this is bad because..." threads.
Being a Designer for ESO must be a really tough job, its impossible to get your own ideas across with all the hate and doom saying.
Back in the days new features were judged when they came on the server and not months in advance.
If those new additions were not so good then this wasn't an issue either. People had a much thicker skin and didn't cry all the time about griefing, not enough content or silly vanity pets.
Playing back then was a together, today its everyone for himself

I miss the game rewarding you for the effort you put in...
I miss access to a basic mount not being an insane grind unless you pay extra...
I miss replayability of the content where endgame is just the beginning....
I miss bosses that actually require following tight mechanics to beat...
I miss having that one instance where you can chill out socialize with people...
I miss there being tons of things to do outside raiding or dungeon content...
I miss regular reoccurring events...
I miss I can make my character look how I want...
I miss dungeon queues actually popping...
I miss regular loyalty rewards given to subscribers rather than giving them the shaft...
There's probably a lot more I don't have time to add I probably miss too, in fact I'm having a hard time finding something that would keep me gripped to this game.

Everyone should read this before posting. NOW READ IT!

I do think the 5 guild thing really missed the mark. Being in a guild means nothing. Half the time you even try to get guildies to do anything they are busy doing something with a different guild. Being in a group of people that play together all the time is the reason I logged on to a lot of MMOs. I stayed in some a good amount of time after I would have left just because of the people I played with. This 5 guild system took away the idea of really being in a guild. I'm sure some people have found tight nit guilds that stick together and I'm happy for them but I have now been in like 7 that all played together, talked on voice chat etc and now I'm the only one who logs in to any of them. I big part of that was that no one could get people together for events. People just join a guild because "why not its one of five and I'll leave if I feel like it'.
As I was thinking about the answer to this I realize what I really miss.
I miss the "newness" of it all. I've been playing MMOs since 99. And back in 99 everything was new and trying to figure it all out (in UO back then). Now, 15 years later I don't have the patience to "figure it all out". Sure, I'll figure out quite a bit but if every single thing is a big chore, I'll move onto something else.
Yeah, I'm jaded.
I miss LoTRO from it's heyday Shadows of Angmar.. I used to love the game, and the kinship (guild) I was a part of.. Big up to Hope & Glory!
Many enjoyable days raiding 'The Rift' and Helegrod.. along with Carn Dum and Urugarth runs!
LoTRO must have had one of the friendliest and welcoming communities around as well! (Talking from a Codemaster's EU server standpoint).
I think any game would be hard pressed to beat those days in my eyes..
I still go back to it from time to time (I'm a Lifetime VIP) to play through the new content.. as despite it's age the art direction and storytelling are still first rate. I just don't spend an inordinate amount of time gearing up my toon, or raiding any longer.
I miss Warhammer Online every damn day. A great community and some great memories of battles.
