Does anyone miss their previous MMO?

This game is fantastic, especially compared to what else is out there. My favorite features are the minimalist ui, the graphics are amazing, the combat feels realistic, the crafting is worth while, the story is solid, and the pvp is a whole lot of fun.

I would however like to see the stamina builds match the magika builds, and the bugs with losing control of my toon, not being able to loot a mob I killed, and the skill bar responsiveness get taken care of but I'm sure it will be.

Overall great game and I will keep subbing as long as the improvements keep rolling out the way they have been. Now to just get my guild mates from other mmo's to play!

Since this is the only MMO I have ever played I would have to say no
That which we obtain to cheap we esteem to lightly, it is dearness only that gives everything its value.

All I really miss is my guild. Fun people to play with or just sit and chat with. Other than that I'm good. I'm sure I'll find another guild here that has those qualities.

I kinda miss DDO, the first MMO I was nagged into playing. Explorer areas, instanced quests, the loot system, 12 player raids, a real LFM system, a ton of build variety, and guilds that actually mattered. No real pvp but that didn't matter to me, pvp to me was always a fps. Eventually it just turned into soloing raids to see if you can do it, and creating builds that made no sense to see if you could survive with them, and it got boring.

I don't miss SWTOR. Having each class have it's own story was nice, and the daily pvp was fine, but it's instancing was worse the ESO's, and there was just way too much driving in that game.

I keep wanting to try Star Wars, but I don't like any of the species; I think I'll wait until they add Wookiees - hasn't anyone over there asked, begged and pleaded for playable Wookiees?!

I mean, come on. Chewie was the one who did all the grunt work, took all the crap, and never got thanked, just insulted with names like "Walking Carpet" and stuff. He didn't even get a medal at the end of the first movie!! He's MY Star Wars hero.

(Got my hands on copies of the ORIGINAL movies, before Lucas started messing with them in the 1990s! Squee!)

You could play wookies in Star Wars Galaxies but the license for SWTOR took SWG offline :(

I do miss SoA LotRO - when Carn Dum was considered end game and people didn't know how to cheese Mordirith. Also just after Rift was released, one of the best designed dungeons I've experienced in most MMOs.

I miss running Sky in FFXI and even exp parties with friends.

I miss (probably masochisticly) the runs back from dragon wipes in EQ, my guild was a ton of fun.

I miss learning MC and BWL in wow with my guild, and for some reason I have really fond memories of running Stratholm in vanilla to get a friend a specific rare drop.

I miss setting ambushes in darkness falls in daoc and - yes - laughing hysterically at CC mechanics.

Why the hell did they leave 'em out of TOR, then? I never even heard of some of these other people. Oh well, at least they don't have gumdums, or whatever jar-jar binks' people were called.

You know what you're all right, why should I keep playing if I'm missing those things? Why should I even attempt to get my point of view across that this game is generally lacking the things that made previous MMO's I played enjoyable to play when everyone else would rather eat out of the same old trough and not strive for any change? I should I myself push to make this game something it quite frankly is not?

Therefore I am going to follow everyone's advice and vote with my wallet, I had hoped for this thread to be a feedback thread rather than un subbing one but there's nothing keeping me here...

I am now going to go and enjoy a real MMO.

I pretty much had to end one of my threads in the same manner as you because of this community. Most here have blinders on and don't realize a forum is to discuss.

Best outcome you could've come to really, wasted effort here IMO. Hope you find enjoyment in your next game.

I wouldn't say "miss." I found older games are best left as nostalgia. Logging into outdated graphics and game play diminishes the sweetness of the memories.
Some of my favorite memories are:
-Running to Highpass on my Necro for the first time in EQ
    -Paladin gameplay in FFXI
    -The Shroud raid in DDO
-Seeing off the Fellowship of the Ring as they left Rivendale in LOTRO
    -Karazhan raid in WOW
    -Fatalities and boobs in AOC

If I missed my old game I'd play it, not complain on the forums.. but that's just me.

Given I was playing Wakfu before ESO I can't say I miss it a great deal.. and it's becoming F2P soon which sucks.

I miss Daoc. Great game with its 3 faction organised RvR.
60,70 or 80 people in vent being directed and having so much fun.
But... this game will be better in the end I think, although Daoc is still way ahead in its abilities, coding etc. Its an old game but the best ever developed,(so far) but I'm still hopeful that this game might catch up in a couple of years or so.
Only my opinion, others may have different opinions and that's ok.
Having said all that, I really like this game and even though I get mad at it now and again, it will improve, it can't help but improve.
I hope it will eventually become a better game than Daoc is.

Not really, most of the time when I leave a game I am done with it, other than LOTRO, I almost never return to them again, I had good times with freinds and guildies, maybe the game took a turn I did not like or went free to play, I like to preserve the good memories. :)

I don't understand the concept of a previous MMO.

I still play 7 of the 8 I have ever done, only GW1 is now 'gone' for me. I still have active accounts in FFXI, WOW, LoTRO, Rift, GW2 and FFXIV in addition to ESO.

So you spend about $105 a month on game subs?

Play some Dark Age of Camelot....you will cancel them all.

I occasionally play Planetside 2 and I'm going back to World of Warcraft for the new expansion and see how much they changed my Bear-Tank. I don't like tanking in this game, I don't feel like its contributing anything and more of a hindrance than beneficial role for the most part. My favorite roles to play are being the Tank or Healer primarily, being pushed into DPS is a pain in my ass.
