Sadly, I know they are possible. I don't know about acceptable, but that's up to each person to decide.
The overall issue, is how you rectify the statements of "entire game" and "exclusive content" ... they're mutually exclusive. You cannot pay a subscription to access the "entire game" when they are also doing "exclusive content". It is just not possible.
That is what I have an issue with.

ZOS surprises us with an expansion to be released in 3 months. New players get the base game and the expansion for a low price of 29.99.
Current players still have to purchase the expansion for 29.99.
So now instead of a fluff pet, they're doing it with a whole expansions worth of content.
Should I be upset then?

Perhaps I am. But I only had the statements made, and what I thought of the game during the Beta sessions I was in, to decide on if I was going to get the game and subscribe.
When their actions are now going against the statements that were made, I believe that I should voice my opinion on it until the release a statement on what was meant when "you pay once per month after the first 30 days and the entire game is available to you" was said.
I mean, I know I may have strange definitions for some things, but "entire" seems pretty cut and dry to me.

Though most games actually do it that way.

Ahhh.... I think I see. You don't see the pets as game content. Or at least "real" content.con·tent

So, since the Pets are contained within the game, i.e. the models, etc... are on everyones machines, does that not make them content within the game?

So all of my exclusive preorder and collectors edition content should be made accessible to everyone?
The treasure maps... The pets... The imperial race...?
Those would fall in the scope of your definition of the "entire" game.

didn't you get a molag bal action figure for that?
I would love to have that thing, 100$ was just too much.
And since everyone is of course realistically able to attend said event that makes it fair...right. Tell the people in EU how their inability to attend a US event makes it OK to exclude them...We all pay the same rate for this game and really all things they make for it should be available as content, that if they give free to some, should be giving free to all, if it IS something they had the option to buy or not to buy, such as pre-orders. Anything they add later and only reward to some players is a slight to the rest of the base.sargon666777b14a_ESO wrote: »Releasing another dog really isn't the solution.. The problem here is they allowed someone to pay for a pet that isn't obtainable in game. It's the fact that the early supporters feel betrayed. They gave a unique pet out at Comic Con also (for free), and that I have absolutely no problem with.. It didn't come with purchase of the game.. it came from attending an event.
Is it against forum policy to say I think you are needlessly trolling? I think this is an issue that ought to be addressed and resolved post haste. Either we are paying a sub fee and getting all game content or we have to pay EXTRA for EXTRA content ala DLC, which is not the same as releasing an expansion. Tossing an overpriced stuffie or molded statue into the bargain doesn't make it OK to do in my book just to try and differentiate.smeeprocketnub19_ESO wrote: »I think you are just splitting hairs and playing semantics personally.
Malpherian wrote: »The problem is that ZOS is trying to use an F2P marketing system and Ideas with their content, while simultaneously Charging a "Forced" Subscription.
They need to pick one or the other and stick with it, Either go free to play, and all the guild restrictions, and exclusive pets then make sense, or Go sub and make everything available to everyone even if they have to pay a little extra for it from the store.
But you can not under any circumstance be successful with a system that states all content will be included with the Sub, then make a bunch of cosmetic/pets/guild content that isn't or that is exclusive to certain people.
Exclusivity comes with F2P, Entirety comes with Subscription based. You can't have both as they are mutually exclusive.

this is not at all the case. You have manufactured these expectations, and as such find yourself disappointed.

Oh, it isn't a matter of money. I just find myself not having a lot of time to dedicate to ESO like i would want to an MMO. Plus, truth be told, the class system takes some of the magic out of the Elder Scrolls world for me. That being said, I can easily see spellcrafting injecting enough of that classless flavor back that I may resub then.aisriyth_ESO wrote: »Well, I am saddened that they have not addressed this at all. You could also buy time codes.

I am a little shocked that you wrote this Amelia. It is quite obvious is it not that we are all aware of this?
