Speedrunning is getting really old. I returned to the game recently, but I have played off and on since beta.
I agree with the original poster. Giving an option to join the encounter should be available. It takes nothing away from the speedrunner and might just give me a chuckle if they die.
Simply fake tanking to get in, and then speedrunning (most of the time the wrong way) means you're a very inconsiderate player and need to just be allowed to do your own thing.
Others should not have to sacrifice their gameplay style for your preferred way to play.

Can’t agree more.
But if you’re allowed to say nice words about @ZOS_Kevin about his amazing work as a forum moderator… are we also free to express some words about the other moderators? (Won’t be pretty for sure.)
Pretty words and praises should always reflect how happy customers are with the service. But those same customers should also be allowed to point out what’s wrong with the service. And oh boy… all the amazing work MOD @ZoS_Kevin does with the community and communication is, by far, erased by [SNIP][SNIP].

Re: What's So Fun About PvP?
I started playing ESO during beta, did a bunch of overland, got super bored and disappointed in "Skyrim 2," left.
Restarted in 2020, did some overland and was pleased that it wasn't anywhere near as awful as it was during beta, but then tried Cyrodiil, got the prompt so why not, as soon as I hit level 10 and basically haven't left lol. For a new player of a certain constitution, getting thrown into the chaos of getting completely obliterated a few times, but seeing that that kind of power and play is achievable, is intoxicating! By comparison, that first dungeon is almost always going to be popping into the instance, somebody sprints ahead, you die to adds a couple times, get blamed for it, then you're ported to a boss, it dies, and you have more exp than understanding of wth just happened. Even in better case scenarios, playing alongside good players in PvE just makes the game happen faster, while in PvP playing alongside good players lets you play the game longer. In short, I like playing ESO, but the better I get at PvE, the faster the PvE instances end and it's just boring. The better I get at PvP, the longer I stay alive and play and enjoy my time with my teammates.
I do dungeons, trials, IA, etc but there's no comparing the memorization rhythm game of PvE to the ever-shifting dynamics of PvP. Not only are many/most of the enemies boss-level difficult, but they don't have predictable mechanics or patterns and can switch it up on you any time. It's more engaging when every encounter creates that cautious tension. Who is this? What do they do? What do I have to do to defeat them? Every encounter is unique and that's very rewarding for a lot of people. Sometimes you start learning regular names and playstyles and get a kick out of getting the better of the guy that's been harassing your group for the past half hour. Making friends by killing each other over and over happens a lot! Forcing player interaction, even through conflict, makes it feel more like an MMO rather than an exercise in parallel play.
TL;DR, for a decent amount of players, it's more fun to compete against other people than set-mechanic AI that, in most cases, has been unchanged in years.

I wanted to give credit where it is due (assuming that its reported bugs get fixed, of course!) for the Living Corpse mechanical change! This is definitely the sort of change that moves the needle in terms of class quality of life and usability.
So I would like to officially petition that Grave Lord's Sacrifice get the same treatment as another self-targeted ability.
If we are to truly dream big, however, let us also apply this to targets of damage abilities such as Blighted Blastbones and Skulls. Necros currently do not have a true "sticky" DOT and that would allow them to append Siphon to a target even in mobile conditions or PvP (assuming that you remain close enough for the tether to continue), which would, again, be a significant quality-of-life win that helps to flesh-out the Necromancer toolkit.
It would be marvelous to be able to apply Living Corpse to a friendly target for the purposes of the healing tether but I am not really sure how that would work mechanically since the only remaining corpse-generating skills (Mender, principally) do not behave that way. Perhaps Mender could gain a target (reticle icon if on another player, otherwise defaults to self) and then to have Living Corpse applied that way?
TLDR; The Living Corpse change is huge and is a step in the right direction toward solving the issue of clunky corpse targeting system and increasing the quality-of-life for Necros. But it should be extended farther and applied to additional skills and skill types!

Class Auras: Working as Intended or Bugged?
I am making this post in hopes of getting an answer whether or not the strange behavior for the class set auras is intended or not. Class auras are supposed to appear when you equip five items of a class set, or when you equip five of the associated outfit styles. Ideally, at least. It seems like their behavior is inconsistent, and I have not seen any confirmation about whether not these behaviors are intended from my previous times mentioning these issues. Below are a few circumstances which stand out in terms of inconsistency, tested on PTS and confirmed to the best of my abilities on PC/NA:
Character select screen visibility;
Hide helmet workability;
Weapons contributing to an aura or not;
Beyond the initial question of if the above behavior is intended, I am left with a few additional questions:
TL;DR
Character select screen visibility;
- Auras from equipped gear do not appear on the character select screen, regardless of what bar they are on
- Auras from outfit styles do appear on the character select screen
Hide helmet workability;
- Equipped armor (with helmet being a class set piece) does apply an aura when you hide helmets
- Outfit styles do not apply an aura work when you hide a helmet that would total up to five class style pages
Weapons contributing to an aura or not;
- Equipped weapons do add to the aura total (But only when they are on the active bar)
- Class set weapon styles do not add to the aura total
Beyond the initial question of if the above behavior is intended, I am left with a few additional questions:
- Is the game coded to only look at armor pieces when considering outfit style auras?
- Does Hide Helmets technically remove the equipped style set in an Outfit/Dye Station, explaining why Hide Helmets removes the aura?
- Why don’t weapon styles apply to the aura total?
- With us not getting a new set of pages for the second wave of class sets, will we get a way to choose which aura to have active with applied class style pages?
