Rich has been with ESO for longer than some of the players were alive. This is a lifetime achievement on this own. Congratulations to Rich, after 18 years he for sure tenfold the 10000 hours rule to master a craft. I was ESO players since 2021, I joined bit late to the party but I the world that he and his team manage to created is one of the kind, so thank you!
That being said, I strongly believe in looking on problems with fresh set of eyes - and we can all agree that ESO has many. I don't feel like community and ZoS always seen eye to eye, and often our concerns were reflected by major buff called "We have the data". As someone who is professionally works with data that directly impacts people I can tell you that data not always shows you the true picture about people behind it. Sometimes mechanisms put in place didn't allow for another result. So Nick, always have an eye on the data, but I wish you will be able to see eye to eye with the people behind it!

In the real world the punishment should fit the crime.
If you show your middle finger to someone, no matter how annoying that is, you should not lose your property and your money.
Teabagging is pretty much the same in the virtual world. It's a juvenile expression and nothing more. The current rule where it is allowed, but if someone asks you to stop you should stop is sufficient in my opinion. Losing your whole account where you have poured hundreds, maybe thousands of hours and dollars over what is an equivalent of a middle finger is a bit harsh.
I don't teabag myself because it's cringe, but if someone does it to me I don't really care. To me that tells more about them than about me.

in the real world when you break the law and go to jail you lose property and money, usually to pay restitution. seems reasonable to me that when you are banned from the game that you lose access to in game property and money. you pay restitution..

ZOS can fix cyrodiil performance without dumbed down vengeance mode.
There are two routes to solve the "problem". They/we do not know what the "Problem" is exactly. So you can either take the current system and take out or test one system at a time. Even if you do this it'll be 10+ week long tests(that people are complaining about losing a week already) Where there is no guarantee you even make a dent in the problem because it could be a mix of systems interacting instead of just one. Or you go the other more guaranteed route and tackle it from the ground up rewriting everything in a simplistic way. Which at least guarantees you are certain how the interactions happen between systems.
I thought they would have given up on vengeance because they are essentially writing an entire game from the ground up all over again. Now you say it is dumbed down.....but vengeance so far is just eso combat with unmorphed skills. If we took live eso and disabled things one by one until we had unmorphed skills which is better? Which is more dumbed down? Really neither, they would probably play very similarly except that with vengeance the spaghetti code is not entangled with 15 years of handfuls of devs tugging on it.
I assume they probably have a 4 man team at best rewriting the whole combat system essentially, so realistically we will probably expect another 2 or 3 vengeance tests before we see any stat choices. My test order would probably involve doing more combat tests before adding in stats.
- Aoe cap tests, DMG aoe have higher caps and healing aoe have lower caps? Maybe effects could also have their own cap like proc sets?
- Effect stacking is limited. Hots, dots, and proc effects cannot stack on the same player multiple times or a limited number of instances.
- Cross healing outside of group
- Smarthealing removed/introduced
- Then we get into race, mundus, food, basic armor/jewelry and their enchants
- Then skills start having scaling based on stats (remember right now they are just dummy flat values and not equations.)
- then finally you would see basic stat sets like hundings
- Stat proc sets like clever alch
- Proc effect sets like RoA, VD, RallyingCry

i am def in the no teabagging camp so i won't support allowing teabagging. people should stop teabagging and if they won't then they can't stay if zos says they can't stay. sad as that is, people should behave betterand not put the onus on the rest of the community. ty.
Re: The 10% max stam/mag proc condition on Blood Magic passive is a joke and needs to be removed
ZOS regularly talks about making performative changes, then makes a horrible change to a class and adds in more checks for the combat system. Makes sense to me. May as well just be when you use a dark magic skill or just be a flat buff since the skill line is already dumpster tier anyways.

I lived on the U46 PTS the entire 6 weeks. I’m curious if the vision for the game and plans for the future have changed significantly with these leadership changes. Will we ever get info on that?
Nick and team still need some time to get that info together. You will hear more about long term planning next year.
