Honestly, OP the best thing I can suggest is actually to join a guild. But not an existing one. Your own. And recruit people that are available when you can play.

I also really liked Zerith and he was great to be around. Sharp as well.
I am presently trying to level Tanlorin but they are so grating to me. I haven't used Azander yet so I may drop them for him and see how that goes.
It baffles me how Zerith-var and Tanlorin were released at the exact same time. There is such a massive gap in overall quality between the two. Zerith-var despite not being the best companion in any statistical sense absolutely has some of the best writing character story and lines of any ESO NPC. Tanlorin... man I tried but she is just so annoying .
I actually think Zerith-var's story is one of the best side quests in the entire franchise and not just ESO.

As the end of a Season transitions to the start of a new one, a maximum of 2,000 Tome Points roll over to the next Tamriel Tome. These Tome Points are available immediately and provide a head start into the new Season."
I was under the impression that, unlike the event tickets that had a limit of 12 tickets, this new currency did not have a limit. But now we hear only 2000 points carry forward to the next season... that items will be auto-purchased with anything beyond that 2000 point limit, regardless if we want them or not.
Why can't I hold on to the points until I see something I want if nothing for that season fits?
And it's worse than that. If you are not paying for premium, then it you have to acquire 20,000 Tomes to unlock items on the last pages. But even if you buy every free item, it will still only cost 15,990 Tomes. With rolling over the extra 2,000 Tomes, that will mean, unless we want to pay to unlock premium, we have to earn an additional 2,010 Tomes that we will never be able to use or keep if there are things on the last page we want.
Why is the rollover cap not equal to the amount of Tomes needed to unlock the last page minus the number of Tomes need to buy everything? In this season, we should be able to rollover at least 4,010 Tomes. Or at least make one of the items with unlimited purchases, like the one for gold, so we don't have to earn something we can never use.

I miss the chapters, too. I'm currently trying to give the new system a chance and find my way around it, and it's not that everything is bad, but I really liked the old system and wish we could just return to it, or at least something similar.
I liked the predictability of knowing what we'll get and getting the big new zone to explore, with its own stories and activities.
The writing in newer chapters did indeed get weaker, with the notable exceptions that were excellent as always. I personally found it going back on the upswing in Solstice. I liked the main quest better again, with more interactivity and choice and feeling somewhat more serious again too, and there were the excellent side quests (I think many of us here have the same favourites, Corelanya, Zerith and so on
). Some parts landed...less well, granted.
But the biggest appeals of the Elder Scrolls universe to me have always been the world and the stories, with its particular storywriting style, as was already said above. The judgment-free mix of very alien cultures and the memorable characters that come from these cultures and interact with the world in their own ways, and it can lead to serious philosophical stories or those with an absurd humour.
In my eyes what we needed was simply a re-focus on the core writing style of the franchise and maybe a return to stricter editorial standards. You don't have to overturn the whole system for that. There was still good writing in the game, that's the thing, it's not broken, it just needs to be given the focus it deserves.

I'm really trying to stay optimistic. I do think some of the new features they are introducing are interesting, and I'm waiting to see how Winterhold will pan out. However, I also can't help but miss the large chapter releases. I know a lot of people complained about them being formulaic, but I like knowing what to expect with regards to the kind of content I'm getting. I liked pieces together clues about the new zone and looking forward to the big summer release.
I'm not a fan of the timed events/zones. I like to take my time and sometimes don't get to new content for years because I'm busy doing other things in the game. I don't want to feel pressured to constantly leave my current stories to check out the new content before it disappears.
I'm glad a lot of people who were unhappy with chapters seem to be excited about the changes, and morale seems a little better overall. I still have some reservations, personally.

Out of curiosity, where is it coming from that Urag is over 1000 years old in Skyrim?
Looking at the dialogue from Skyrim, he says “I try and make sure as much knowledge is available as possible. We've been keeping this collection since the Second Era.” Since the preceding line shows he doesn’t use the royal ‘we,’ we know that he is currently tending the library (“I try…”), but saying that the College as a whole (not only himself) has kept the collection for that length (“We have…”). It implies there were several people throughout history who have tended the library.
Even the UESP lore page mentioning that he is that old offers no references beyond assuming that single quote above means he alone is the “we” referred to, and thus he is the only librarian the College has ever had. I have my doubts about that interpretation (UESP is a fansite and is subject to fallacy if fans misinterpret) as it is reasonable to think he is not any older than a standard mage and simply the latest in a line of College loremasters.

Savos Aren does give some dates back to the late Second Era (which is also past ESO’s timeframe), but concedes that it is likely older so the College should exist, but likely be in its infancy. That does lead to a possible series of “go collect some books for us” quests (do I smell the potential for repeatable dailies that send you all over Tamriel?)

Getting it from the Impresario is the 'normal' way to get it, as it has been all along. It's not punishment.
The rare chance to get the fragment in the event before it is just that... I have no issue with it. I'll just give a little cheer if/when I get it and really never give it a second thought if I don't. I certainly don't get stressed if it doesn't show.

didnt get the fragment during jesters and bought it during this event but i did get this new fragment during anniversary through RNG...over time it will even out for you
