First of all, thank you for taking a look at the IA class sets… for the most part they’ve only been good for the glowy armor effects.
The primary non-starter with Aetheric Lancer has been the requirement to “go touch” the spear, which is often impossible to even locate if you have moderate amount of adds, or decides to drop in the middle of a large hit box enemy where it’s impossible to touch.
If you are reassessing the set, could you please make this function more similarly to Null Arca and just fire on cooldown? Perhaps a spear that comes down with a small dot in its low radius aoe?
Anything would be preferable to the current state which isn’t useable
I like that there are animation improvements in the works currently, I have been looking forward to something like that for years, and I think it is very necessary.
There seems to be, however, a possibility that the demand for improved animations has been slightly misinterpreted.
Animations in ESO are outdated, too stiff, wooden and unnatural. All of 'em, from walking and running, to combat skills.
They need to be made smoother, silkier, "natural" looking with more smooth transitions between animation states.
They should NOT be flashier with more colours, particles, backflips, anime moves, etc.
I know adding more flashy particles is less work than having to tweak realistic body movement while avoiding clipping of body and armor/cosmetics, but more grounded animation is in the spirit of The Elder Scrolls, while also looking higher quality than tacky mobile game flamboyance.
Just smoother and more natural.
