I use the "ESO Helper" app (on Android) to help with the surveys and treasure maps. Not as smooth as having an actual icon in the game, but definitely quicker than searching on Google every time.
I like the way that you can filter what comes up on your map through the map menu. The way the skyshards appear black when you are close, and turn white when collected but you can toggle them on and off in the filter is nice.
If the treasure maps and surveys worked this way (in that they only appear black when you have the related survey/treasure map), then when collected they go white, I think this would be a great addition.
I also agree with you Bammlschwamml, the problems arise from lack if inventory space. Personally I'd be happy with further pack merchant upgrades to increase storage capacity, even if the price gets ridiculously huge by doubling the price each time up to a maximum of 500 inventory space (which would cost an absolute fortune in gold), I think people would still do it.

To those players who are EU based, and have Android system, there's an app that has been updated regularly and has everything you need to know.

I can confirm that this is the case on Xbox Series X as well. I play on a small 28in monitor, and can barely see the map as it is. You're right, it certainly does make treasure maps and surveys a pain when I can zoom in further on my 5in phone screen using the ESO Helper app to see where I'm going (great app by the way, I recommend it). I'm pretty sure the graphics for the app must have been pulled from the source data somehow, so the quality of the map is definitely there in the background already.

I have a very good recommendation for all players who want to track their character progress outside the game. You need a smartphone, though.
Go to the play store and download the ESO Helper app.
There you can create characters and manually check their progress, e.g. which lorebook you've found, which skyshard you've unlocked etc. You can even create timers for professions and riding skills. On top of that you have a full list of skills, sets, in game maps with all the locations (of books, shards and all the other stuff) and a lot more things.
I just found this app today and it's a glorious piece of work for every ESO player. I am using it now to track progress for my new characters.
I am not working for the app nor am I developing it by the way - it's just a fantastic application that improves your ESO life on consoles.

@OmenRIP If you're on console you can keep a track of all skyshards (collected and uncollected), ect, with an app called ESO Helper.

Re: Why do you target low-level recipes? How do you know when you are done?
My alt chars all have different levels of provisioning, despite the fact they're all at level 50 of provisioning, to make sure I can collect all the rare recipes for my main char - a specific provisioning level is always related to a certain amount of recipes.FlopsyPrince wrote: »The argument was made against having all recipes fall at the high level because some of you target specific recipes at specific levels.
Can someone explain why you would know what you were targeting? If it is being complete, how do you know when you have all the recipes at that level?
I do not want to reargue the issue, I just want to understand the reasoning in this point.
On PC is much easier to keep a track of all your known recipes, for that I use the Master Recipe List.
For PS4 I once made a google doc to keep the records of my main char, using the recipe listings from the lists of:
