I wouldn't want them to attack people, but I would like them to add another category of "creatures" to houses. Not target dummies, but also not mounts. More like House Guests, but creatures. There are so many creatures in Tamriel, and we should be able to add more then just whatever mount we have, or the giant target dummy monsters they released.

We could set them to appear 100% of the time someone enters, or 10% of the time, etc. With our players becoming notable throughout Tamriel, it wouldn’t be strange to be attacked in our own homes by enemies that we’ve crossed in the past occasionally, for example. City of Heroes had a dungeon creator, I think it was called Architect, that was so neat like that.
Regarding someone abusing it by putting a super hard monster at the entrance just to annoy people, it could be that if a mob is placed anywhere in your home there is an automatic warning on the listing that this house contains enemy mobs so enter at your own risk.

The problem is too many people expecting to have everything handed to them and to not have to earn anything. Yes, PvP is challenging. That's the point. If you don't want a challenge, there is always PvE.
The fact is it's the legacy players such as myself that spend the most on the game. We have to if we want the latest, greatest gears to compete. It's the veteran legacy players such as myself that are holding the game together, not the casuals who stop by a few times/month and never spend any money.
