I like the difficulty but the rewards are underwhelming, i don't feel like i have anything worthwhile to grind for.

The difficulty is too high to be done solo by casual players but this is intended to be a group focused area, if this was a super casual overland questing area, where you can easily melt everything, the entire thing would be incredibly dull.

As a PvPer, congrats ZOS. You made me really enjoy a PvE environment. I had such a blast today with a group of PvP guildies just running around, killing stuff, dying constantly, figuring out the mechanics and puzzles, it was a blast.

This is not sarcasm either. My guildies enjoyed the heck out of it when we went in expecting a boring farm for the new mythic.

I watched the release video and must have yawned or something, because I didn't hear anything about this being a purely vet/trial type of place. If you enjoy it, I'm glad! Have fun!

In basically every piece of advertisement for the Night Market they say this or something similar:

Note that many of the event zone’s challenges were designed for groups in mind, so be prepared for a tough fight if you’re venturing into the zone solo.

If you're going to force account-wide factions, you should give us account-wide progression through these event zones.

correction, i was able to eat it on one character and then unable to eat it on the other, so these are account-wide. the character-bound descriptor confusingly intimates these fragments, and their related achievements, are character-specific.

I have more feedback trickling on in my mind.

It very clearly is experimental content and I think that’s a good thing. It felt like breaking from the boring mold of ESO. Carrying Factotum parts around in one of the Skirmishes was definitely giving GW2… I don’t particularly like it in GW2 but in this instance? It was great. Looking forward to more experimental content!

I forgot what else I was going to say, I’ll post again or edit this if I remember. I’ll be running again tomorrow as an open run and next week my dungeon trifecta group will be taking a crack at it. I’m sure I’ll have more feedback after seeing it in other group contexts.

Brazen + Brazen dead = Argent instantly spawns… but if you kill the Argent then the Brazen bosses don’t instantly respawn. We had to wait for what felt like 15 minutes for a brazen boss to respawn. Can it be instant like the Argent boss spawns are? It felt bad. I even thought it was bugged.

I’m back. I set up a guild run, intending to run for 2 hours. We peaked at 10 people and overall ran 5 and a half hours before the group disbanded entirely (my brain is turned to dust). We had about 3 people who already knew what Night Market was and the others knew nothing. Started with various levels of progress as some people had gone in earlier in the day. This was run in my guild which has a population of endgame dungeoneers, so we were all familiar of the returning boss mechanics I believe. We ran one tank (me), no healer, several dds, and companions to fill the group. Later it was one tank, one healer, and a handful (4 or so dps). We killed most of the trash we came by to make it easier for the group to stay together. We went in with intent to gather splinters for the relics, since we are dungeoneers and want our dungeons. I ran Archdruid/Lucent Echoes/Turning Tide on my pure class Sorc tank & pure class Plar tank. I used my trash setup exclusively (with scribed aoe pull, took off void bash for this).

It. Was. A. Blast. I was worried with the amount of people, we would steamroll the bosses. But Sellstrix steamrolled US. And then second pull we got her good for that. It was fun hearing people figure things out like Dunegorger’s fighting arena being its stomach and “hey, isn’t this the last boss in MoS” / “what boss in CoS is that? Oh, yeah, that one!” / etc.

Even with other premade groups joining fights, it was enjoyable. The tanks I ran into, we didnt get into taunt competitions too much. And I got to see people I know in other groups!

It was good to see splinters got buffed to be 100% drop rate from all sources… EXCEPT ONE… the three from daily reward coffers. This is already unbearable. I didn’t get one from my gold box, the blue boxes gave nothing but trash overland sets, and the question kept appearing in my group “can we do the dungeons yet?”. I’m running again tomorrow with almost entirely the same people and until more people get the relics, all we can do is run around in the overland portion. This is going to become a big problem later on when guilds run more groups intended to push through to the dungeons and/or trial… and people without the daily splinter are going to be left out unless they solo the drop.

My second problem is the rewards. I know rewards can’t be too good because the zone is unsoloable but it feels like only Calamitous bosses give good stuff. The dailies? I’ll be ignoring those completely once I get my relics done most likely because what’s the point? The chance at blue or purple upgrade mats? I do vet/HM dungeons, I’m swimming in purple upgrade mats. I like the furnishings and the potential to make gold from this (I didn’t check how much I made, oops) and even the dungeon motifs (another way to make more money woo). But a singular mothers sorrow destruction staff is meaningless to me.

My final problem for now is that the dailies have a really tiny range on them before you can see the marker over an item (both picking up items and to pick up quests). I appreciate that you can at least interact with the items in combat and whilst dead, but some of them were really painful to find. I also wish they were shareable. For the most part, the group was able to stay together and work together on the dailies, but some people had already done the dailies earlier and some people might’ve not picked up the dailies because I’m an antsy tank with no sense of direction…

Overall, great time even with my terrible sense of direction but I also don’t really know where to go from here. I can’t do the dungeons or trial because I’m missing a drop that could take me days or weeks to get, let alone a full group worth of people, let alone a full group of my friends. The rewards aren’t anything to be super excited about. So, like, run for enjoyment? I don’t want to get burnt out before I can even do the full gameplay loop of brazen to opulent.

I logged in and saw the quest starter in the crown store. Grabbed it and used a wayshrine to teleport to the event zone. Once inside, the compass marker showed me that I needed to head into a portal to get to the person the quest was asking me to speak to. Instead, the portal was actually the exit.

The person hadn't fully loaded with the lag in the zone before I had up and left so I returned and waited. The marker still showed me using the exit portal but by looking around I was able to find the person I needed and was able to complete the initial quest to unlock the house.

That is the full extent of "testing" and experience I will be doing with the Night Market zone. I don't do trials and only sometimes do dungeons and based on feedback already given, you pretty much need to have trial experience and groups in order to not play "die and run" over and over. That is not content, that is frustration.

On the house, there was no option to preview it by clicking on the map, clicking on the door, or anything else I could think of before I did the quest and acquired it. You should let people view it to see if they even want to bother with the initial quest. Adding to that, there is no way to see what the wings would look like to know if you are really missing out on something or not.

Since I cannot see what I am missing, I have no desire to try to form up with groups to even consider unlocking the wings.I think I will just use something to hide the doors so I don't even see them. I didn't try yet but I hope I can remove the wall safe and throw it away since I cannot use it. I'll just place my banker in the front area in the cage room for convenience.

my understanding is yes they will have alternate locations (at least for the mythic) but i dont know where the alternate locations would be
