Based on what we're currently seeing, I predict that the order of winning factions will be:
The Thousand Eyes -> The Glittering Goad -> The Ruckus
There's no way The Thousand Eyes will lose this first campaign. They're so far ahead of everyone that it's not a competition. It's basically Vengeance with the faction stacking all over again. It's only fun if you're on the winning team.
We managed to get a full group of one tank, 3 healers and rest dps tonight from the guild I am in. Saw only few others running around. so this is terrible for ppl who don't get ppl to pre-plan groups.
goods:
- It felt like PvP but in PvE, witch I loved alot.
- As a healer it was really satisfying to be actually useful and I felt my participation mattered.
- Tank had a blast as well.
- The Market looks nice and has wide areas for comfortable combat.
not so good:
- As soon as we dropped few damage dealers when they left to do other stuff, the fights weren't as enjoyable.
- The worm is confusing as hell. If half of the group gets in they are easily at the other side of the map when they get out and then you are left with half of the group to try to get back together. Fighting the way to each other takes long as is annoying, when we just want to play as a team.
the terrible:
- spawnpoints. We need more of them. Also if you join the group and port to your friend, it still ports you to the market and you have to run alone through the enemies to get to them. You most likely die, and then spawn at the closest, near the entrance, and it doesn't help at all. As a healing main, I ain't killing heck in that place alone.
- the separate quests. You can share some, that is nice, but again, if you join a bit later, you are missing stuff, you can't just expect whole 11 other ppl to go where just you need to.
- if you want just pop in and do some quests, it is really hard to do that without a group. The mobs at the entrance alone will get you killed, not to mention to "kill bosses". i want to see a person who easily soloes all bosses. In like an hour.
Overall, I see where you were going with it, I like it _when the conditions are optimal_. But we all know gaming is dynamic. People come and go, and after ppl have gotten what they want, curated overland/dungeon sets are not gonna bring them back, and the sands will rattle with frustrated teeth, when handful of late farmers tries to get things done.
Far be it from me to say "I told you so" when we were testing during the U49 cycle, but .... well, I told you so. You can kinda sorta run solo, but it doesn't work well and the single respawn point mostly results in being chewed up and spit out over and over by respawning trash packs.
Nothing is explained properly so it's very confusing, especially how to get started. Also too difficult, a lower difficulty setting is really needed, our group just kept dying over and over again, very boring. We did manage to finish the faction quest in the end but it took ages and the rewards were rubbish. Altogether we received two reward boxes each and both contained one piece of armour that was already collected. Probably won't bother with it any more but thanks for the house.
When choosing a faction, everyone is just choosing the faction leading. Thousand eyes is so far in the lead PS5 NA ATM.
I joined Gold and I hardly ever see anyone. I can solo just fine but everything takes so long to kill without anyone else around.
I assume everyone is doing the Thousand faction.
Also, how does one leave the Night Market zone? I go to the wayshrine and can only scroll through the different sections of the Night Market, but I can't port to Blackwood or anywhere else. I just port to a fellow guild members location to leave zone.
The set items that drop and can be bought through the vendors. Does these change weekly like how IA does it or are we stuck with the same 5 or so sets for the next 49 days?
I'm really surprised that Zos failed to mention from the get-go that this was a group zone. I was really looking forward to a new area, but as a first and foremost solo player, I'm disappointed. I was wondering why the area wasn't packed with players. Now I know why! I understand this game is an MMO, but there are a ton of solo players that this content will not appeal to. Oh well.
(PS-NA) Apparently there is no way to leave the Night Market outside of traveling to a home outside of Fargrave from your Collections tab. I should be able to use the wayshrine in the plaza to do so.
Also, as many before have said, if you are solo or even two-player co-oping with a friend, there is pretty much no chance at getting much of anything done. Even running something as inane as repairing the wards means I am dying constantly, cannot outrun/hide the mobs, and most of my gear is broken within five minutes. Two or three hits take out any of the companions I have active, so there's no real help there, either. I swear I was alone in the Parch for a while today because either no other players were given quests to go into the area or they just aren't playing.
Yes, I know this is Day One, but reading that a lot of the same issues I'm having were brought up during PTS is just not a great look and don't entice me to come back to this area, no matter how much I'd love to fully unlock the Night Den. Which is horrible knowing that I'll probably never unlock the three wings or get access to the new safe.
Hmm... After seeing these posts about the difficulty, I'm actually now curious how the difficulty compares to, say, a normal group dungeon (base game, not DLC) or IA cycle-wise.
