First let me start by saying, I realize we don't even have the week 3 update in front of us yet and thus, we haven't had time to really sit down and test it ourselves... But this has been eating at me since the post was made by Zenimax devs.
Is there anyway we can make the WW glow a toggle, for those of us who may or may not like the glow? Let me explain how I envision it but first also preface by saying the current "Week 3" implementation isn't bad, per se.
Currently, how I have experienced the WW ult, I transform, build fury in the overland on menial monsters, creatures, and enemy NPCs, I want to enter a town and must transform back... But wait! My WW rage ult thingy is ready! Lemme activate it
before I enter town, since I can't change back from a WW to my character
unless I activate it! I wait however long for the ult to expire,
then I change back to my character and can enter town. But now (if I am understanding everything correctly), with the glowing effects tied to it, if I want the glowing effects permanently, I
CANNOT activate that ult ability or else I'll lose them! Thus, I have to choose between wanting the cool glowing runes on my WW permanently or getting stuff done in towns and cities and wait again before I can see them.
What I propose is this: we already have a three-way-toggle in the settings for things like input devices (keyboard only>automatic>controller only) and we already have effect toggles ("Toggle Ally Effects")... Can we just make this a three way toggle going "Glow Always On>Glow When Ult is Ready>Glow Always Off"? This way, you can satisfy
everyone at once such as folks like me who want the permanent glow and folks who don't want it at all. I feel this would be the most ideal solution and one that could just end the discussion surrounding it with simply saying "just go into settings and change it".
I am not a dev. I don't know the backend for this kind of stuff. I only studied Game
Art in college, not the development or coding parts. So I know it's easy for the devs to change the glow effects to be a conditional toggle, hence this is probably why they took this route (correct me if I am wrong). I am sure it's a little more complicated to implement this into the framework but we have some absolutely talented folks at Zenimax and I believe it can be done!

Edit: this is just an idea I wanted to throw out there while the devs worked on maintenance for the servers today. I've seen folks mention they'd like a toggle instead as well, across both Reddit and here in the forums, so I'd love to hear what others think about this implementation idea vs what we have now vs what is coming in Week 3, in the meantime.
