I am a veteran with 8000+ hours in ESO. I am afraid to say this is very confusion. Always in the past you could pick new things up instantly.

I have started many quests, not sure which group to join to help with my quests. If only the Night Market quests were visibly divided to help sort them so i know where to go. Yes you have to use the Group Finder, but what is happening is the blind leading the blind.

To run salt in the wounds (trust me I never have anything bad to say) the Golden Pursuit has the worst end reward (in my eyes), even a bigger reason why to be disheartened.

Good luck, it is more the the elite organised that get together through guilds.

2nd day, and my main takeaway is that this not not actually group content, it's just content you can't solo.

Group content has shared objectives. If me and several of my friends (or randos) are dealing with the evil machinations of Marv the Inept, we are all sharing the same intent regarding the dungeon/world boss/trial/incursion that we are participating in. We are here to defeat Marv and his minions.

These zones? Everyone has different objectives because everyone has different quests. The only shared objective is "kill stuff". It's trash pack after trash pack that give nothing but a repair bill, with occasional bosses.

I did my time in bleeding-edge content in another game years ago. I'm casual now. I do some group content, I do a lot of solo content, and I consider myself an "acceptably geared and mid-range competent PvE player". This content is not meant for me. It feels like alternate content for the folks who enjoy trials.

Which would be fine, if it weren't promoted as "here's something for everyone!", because it's just not. I really wanted to like this, and I don't. I'm not enjoying repeated ghost runs to try to tag my quest objectives, because the group in the area isn't heading over to the circle I need. I'm not enjoying endless trash fights. I'm not enjoying rewards of blue coffers with overland set gear that I a) already have, and b) could easily get in overland zones without all this <waves hands at the angry hordes>. I'm not enjoying daily quests scattered all over the zones so that I have to traverse each zone multiple times.

It doesn't feel fun and engaging. It feels like an artificially inflated time sink.

The house is lovely.

My initial experience with night market has not been good. It took me a while to figure out where the tunnel was leading to the zone. The existing tunnels are marked on the map with dotted lines. It could have used an added dotted line from the tunnel branch point to the night market.

The quest said to talk to the curator. There was a curator stood outside the portal, but no quest icon above his head. I talked to him, went through the dialog finding out about the factions and the night market, but it did not advance the quest. I went in the portal, and the curator was there near the entrance. He had the same dialogs, but this time there was a way to advance the quest.

It would be less jarring if the curator stood outside advanced the quest and sent me inside. Or even if there was just a marker above the portal, and just one curator, that would have been fine.

The main plaza feels a bit empty, and big. I noticed there were a bunch of crafting stations, but no crafting quests. That was a bit odd. It would have been nice to be able to mount in the plaza.

The different factions seem a bit unbalanced. It looks like most of the players chose thousand eyes, which was my natural choice. A big part of ESO is the exploration for me, and I'm sure it is for many other players. If you were hoping to have a fairly even mix of players picking factions, the faction themes were poorly chosen.

When I finally went through the initial quests and went into the first zone, it was over fairly quickly. Twice. I expected the difficulty to be like a public dungeon. I died very quickly on the first pull. There was no res at my body with cooldown, the only option was back to the wayshrine. That was annoying.

When I got back to the zone, another player was pulling the mobs. I figured the two of us should be able to handle the mobs. Wrong. We both died pretty quickly.

The closest overland contrast I might give is Craglorn. However craglorn has a main zone quest that can be easily completed solo. The group content is very clearly labeled on the map, and a big message comes up "You are entering a group area". That is entirely missing from this zone. It does not appear that I can complete any quests solo.

It looks like the usual zone completion statistics are missing. All the icons appear to be discovered at the start. I like working through the zones completing them.

I'm sorry if this offends people, but the level of quality in this game feels like you are either not testing it, or outsourcing testing. I am now getting a sense that there is less investment going into the game, and I'm not getting the value for money that I once got.

The only possible saving grace might be the cross play that might happen next year. I understand cross play is probably where console and PC players are on the same server. I'm hoping that it'll mean that the NA and EU servers are also merged. I swapped servers last year, and I have a lot of progress on the NA server. It's hard to repeat a lot of that on EU in the games present state.

I really hope you guys get the game back on track. I actually liked getting an expansion every year. This season thing/new experiment doesn't work for me.

Ironically, and I'm sure this will amuse a few people, I'm going to be playing Starfield instead for now

I am stoked to see the different ways to start the quest featured in the recent news article- usually it says "from the crown store" and I have to spend time looking overland how to get there more organically. Thank you thank you for including this in the article, I might never have found blackwood on my own!

I'm fine with the bosses being difficult content for groups. Trash mobs being difficult, though, is just a massive nuisance that slows you down when you're trying to get from A to B. Whether you're just questing or trying to get from boss to boss.

Played it mostly solo tonight and joined a pug that randomly invited me at one point.

Overall it's not great nor is it terrible. I find it mostly just tedious. I went in with my run-of-the-mill PvP build and it was slow going. Not much was threatening me but it takes forever to kill stuff. If a random meta arc walks by though they just instantly melt everything's face off in a second or two so I'd say it feels about on par with a vet dungeon maybe? The only thing that got annoying was that between the random lag spikes (of which there seems to be many!) and the overabundance of screen-filling AoE effects, it's pretty annoying to just drop over dead from something that hits for 100k+ damage even when blocking just because you didn't know there was something heading toward you that needed to be dodged. From a boss I'd get that, but this just seems to come from some of the pack champions. I'd rather they just hit me for like 99% of my health instead of a must-dodge-or-die attack.

The bosses are probably the best part. They have some fun mechs and really require at least a couple people with good builds that know how to play a role in a team.

Overall I'd say it's far more engaging than anything I've seen ZoS release since... well... Craglorn! But I suspect that once the curiosity fades then people will come to it less and less. Having a limited window of time to do so will stave that off while a while I'm sure. But eventually it will just be another dead zone that you need to gather up guildies if you want to do it as a team.

group finder is the way, its literally the only reason i was able to do anything in the parch which is sad because the district is my fav lol but people only want to do the other two faction related ones.

It's really, really hard to get around the Parch without the relic. I'm trying to get the splinters for it now and it's painful with no one around.

Edit: I've also been wandering around Sorrow and there's no one there either.

Not a fan of these type of riddles in multiplayer areas as I think they just kill the gameflow

Yes, 95% suffer and 95% will leave and say why am I doing this? To receive cheap rewards and get sucked into FOMO golden pursuits. Looking at this from a third person perspective ZOS are clearly in chaos and have bad leadership and are frantically trying to save a dying horse but during their twitch streams they seem so positive and happy... which is a lie. Everything is fake because they all know the truth, ESO is on it's last legs and ZOS will now hunt down and manipulate new players because they are blind to their ugly truths. You and I Sir Crowley are considered old players who have been around since 2015 and know how this organization operates. I, personally have been flogging this dead horse (ESO) and I have finally realized that it is time to walk away and focus on real life and ignore this blatant manipulation and extortion from this company. The greed tactics are obvious, ESO used to be a beautiful and a fun game where communities supported each other because we felt secure in a structured environment, it's now chaos, the same chaos of a dying system. "SEASONS" is just a word to say we are in maintenance mode and following from maintenance it will go into administration and will end. ESO's death is on every member leading and directing from ZOS, it's on them entirely. After 11 years, having capped CP, having many experiences good and bad in ESO I have unsubscribed and uninstalled. WE THE PEOPLE have the POWER to walk away and to realize we are not going to be "played" by this organization any longer. Without us - your player base - You ZOS will cease to be anything but the real identity of your real life personalities that being living under this motto - we actually despise our player base and go out of our way to be supremely toxic to them by creating content which makes them unhappy. Night Market is an embarrassment as was last years "Solstice" and it will continue going down until it's completely destroyed.
