2) The difficulty level is too much overall; this is coming from someone who regularly does vet DLC HMs (not trials, granted). Most of my group did OK, but we're mostly-organized (not sweaty, but serious casuals). The random casual players that we picked up got absolutely wrecked and what little chatter I saw in zone chat was not positive. I think of the casual player by default (because we need them to keep the game going) and I'm totally dumbfounded at the difficulty that ZOS landed on after the PTS feedback (I suppose I really shouldn't be surprised);
3) Groups are being put in different instances;
4) The rewards are garbage: Mother's Sorrow, Plague Doctor, etc...really? I couldn't care less about a gold Mother's Sorrow Bow. Come on, ZOS. The occasional piece of trial gear is at least a little different - the casual players may not have much of that stuff, but overland gear? Giving "casual rewards" for Vet-Level content is insulting;
5) It's a bloody confusing mess overall: starting the dang thing, what quests can be shared and why or why not, the seemingly random quests (dailies?) that some group members are seeing and other not seeing, and even just placing--in my case--the Lamp to unlock one of the little closet rooms in the house was silly to figure out until I finally saw it in the in-game mail. The lack of information, as usual, is quite frustrating. The players will figure it out over the next few weeks, but by then the damage will be done and our opinions solidified (remember The Wall event);
6) The desire to have some friendly competition amongst the factions is understandable, but is also silly: it was pretty much immediately obvious who will win, as PC NA players jumped on "Team Teal" because...well, look at the ridiculous score.
I honestly feel bad for the casual players at work right now, impatient to get home and jump in the Market only to find that when they do, the hour or two they have to play is going to be frustrating, unnecessarily time consuming/confusing, and overly difficult.
After sleeping on it, perhaps I'll feel differently. For now though, Night Market leaves a less-than-pleasant taste.
It's fine in a group when you have it, which is not always going to be the case. I, of course, cannot solo those bosses, but I can do the trash packs solo. However, they are way too grindy and do not drop anything (same issue as in IA). In addition they are placed too close to each other, so kiting often engages the next group. Which means going to various objectives inside the district is too tedious (for me at least).
I am a casual player - former hardcore player.
I am completely overwhelmed by the difficulty of the night market. Even with a full 12 person trial group we really got our behinds handed to us.
ESO is my comfort game, as my job is extremely stressful. So far I enjoyed questing, dungeons, vet dungeons and trials. I dont mind higher difficulty if we can opt in or opt out. Folks need to mind that most people are casual about gaming. If you want hard content you should be able to opt in.
Please make Night Market easier. So far I will not try it again.
My big complaint is that the respawn rate is too quick in some spots. A large group ran through and before we even finished off the last enemy the whole group of them respawned on top of us. Multiple times.
Everyone plays DK. And that class is *** OP and destroys the fun in this game. IAM not playing before they nerf flame lash and heart of flame or what it's called. In one BG there was like 10 DKs
This class is just silly. @ZOS_Kevin
In my experience, the Night Market is a total chaotic mess and I LOVE IT XD. Recycling dungeon bosses is a bit lazy, but it’s so much fun at the same time. I’m having a blast playing it, I just wish it gave more XP, tho
It's really group-dependent, which can make things difficult if you don't have someone to play with, but there are plenty of groups in the group finder now. I hope it stays this way.
As a solo player, it is sort of disheartening to not be able to kill *anything*. Like, yeah, I knew I was going to get slaughtered, if I didn't group, but I was hoping to be able to kill at least some of the outer mobs, but once you aggro them, they all descend on you, and I couldn't even get one kill.
It doesn't help that when you ask for a group, it is just silence.
Earlier, I DID see a group of players killing things, so I joined them (and got 75 kills with them, even before I started using my weapon) and got some quests, completed some quests, but then I had to leave so hopefully I will be able to get back in and find a group killing things again.
So, my conclusion is that, if there are people there it can be fun! But, it seems dead. Most of the time I would see one or two people, and even with the group, it was only like 6 people, with companions, yet the night stats on the side says that there should be 100K+ users who joined.
