Subclassing worse than U35?

why did you think so that endgame players will leave? Most concerns about subclassing are about pure classes not being strong enough. This can be easy fixed with a buff for pure classes, e.g. by an extra passive for not using other classes skill lines.

Endgame players play meta without such roleplay aspects of wanting pure classes. Or why do you think that "endgame" players nearly all shifted to arcanists dd? Because they like roleplaying of staying with their class?

I haven't done end game pve in a while. But even then, if things become stale the end game population suffers.
I was speaking mostly from a pvp perspective. You can say its anecdotal, but the amount long time pvpers not happy about multi-classing is very significant amongst the circle of people I play with.

I think long term it's going to be bad. New players already have to contend with daily mount training, and are overwhelmed when they look at build guides. I already thought most build guides were complicated, but with mythic grind, scrying grind, and subclassing, it's just gonna be a higher barrier to entry. Back in the day, the champion points used to be more complicated. The CP trees got simplified at some point.

If ZOS keeps adding more stuff, they need to simplify things. Instead of having more OP mythics introduced in the next patch, I would've loved to see old sets overhauled, like a set that boosts bow heavy attack, or 2H heavy attacks, to allow for more HA builds other than lightning staff. Since a huge part of PvE discontent is that the weaving mechanic is bad, and arcanist/sorc are the only anti-weaving viable specs, and arcanist has been the best DPS class for 2 years, and continues to be the easiest spec to play going into u46...

I feel like subclassing just seems lazy and without limitations, the endgame meta is going to be 7 DPS class of the same spec + 1 support DD, and healers/tanks having even more on their plate (they are the slave specs that have to do the hard work of proccing sets and debuffing and crowd control). I don't think this is healthy for the game. It's better to have other specs do other roles, like have DD do crowd control and buffing/debuffing instead of forcing the supports to do it. And I know it's the community that enforces the meta, but if the devs care, they can implement limitations so the party comps don't end up stale.

Definitely going to hurt the community more than U35 based off of what I am already seeing. Most of the people I have played with since COVID are going to be quitting the game.

The endgame meta is gonna shift in a way that a lot of people don’t enjoy and most of the more unique or interesting play styles and builds will be unplayable either bcs they aren’t needed anymore or they don’t do any damage compared to the new dps meta

    Hello
I am seeing my build nerfed in incoming patch it's okay, but w/ no buff within the xpack to compensate, as I see it now.

Generally it's a give and a take so it's okay, but I fear my magicka templar jabs and finisher are being nerfed without a compensation.

I am searching for the passives I get for free by ditching my healing skill line, and getting a dps skill line with dps passives, and it's not worth the exchange. What I am seeing, is the weakening of my templar to make subclassing somewhat work.

Subclassing changes are not final for sure, there will be tweaks in the next months, but it is not smelling good, yet. Not counting that the identity of a class can be altered by an urge to power. I am not like a RPer, but this also sounds bad.

Maybie the classes are toasted, we are coming back to the essence of TES, which is, being classless. Good point. In the meantime my class will probably now struggle in the infinite archive. I am just being pragmatical.

Subclassing seems to be a novelty that will touch some classes, the Dragon Knight is out, and a good idea for nerfing the current classes more, in the process.

I am rambling about this again, my bad. Well I bought the xpac since I started my internet rambling in the forums, and I am questioning now why I did that.

Looking for a way out obviously too, being optimistic as I am, everything has not been released and tested. The smelling is just not tasty yet.
