I don't have enough time to complete the quest in the group dungeons!

Party members do not want to wait when I complete the quest, they all leave despite requests to wait. And I kicked before I have time to complete. Why is this happening at all? why do you need to kick out of the dungeon when someone is left there alone! Increase the time to a few minutes! It happened to me several times and they all do not care!
Very annoying !!!

If i know someone is doing the quest, I hang back. It's rude otherwise... I pugged arx and wayrest last night, my 1st run through with a new character. I explained at the start, and fair enough they waited, joined me for the next dungeon too, also waited there. The kindness of strangers is a nice thing, but rare in my experience.

This can be an issue I agree, even if you are in a patient group. Some quests in dungeons have long conversations, a lot of dialogue. So if others have already done the quest and the dungeon is done then they leave and you get that tik tok tik tok, teleported out of dungeon. Like "meh come on, I wasn't done!"

I wouldn't mind if in some patch you get some...ready check if you are ready to leave the dungeon. Or a portal at the end to leave when you wish. So everyone else can leave while you finish.

Ye this is rly an issue. I always ask if ppl can wait pls. But sometimes ppl just ignore that or they dont understand because they dont speak English (which is not that rare with french or russian ppl - no offence!! its just a fact, again: i am fine with russian & french ppl, just mentioning a language barrier!)

Some quests involve steps like killing all the nagas on beach or going down a side path to fight ice boss, and some groups don't even do that if you need it. I wish these dungeons were replaced with something more open and group friendly.

I will wait if I know someone is on the quest but it has never made sense to me why they have the short kick timer once the dungeon is completed. Its brevity doesn't just affect those running quests but players like myself who would take the time to go back farm the dungeon once we are done. I'd also like to get some time to really look at everything as well. If it is a system resource issue then set the timer to say 20 minutes after the run is complete to give players some time regardless of their reason.

I will always wait and help someone doing the quests. Be sure you mention it in group chat at the beginning so people can recalibrate their expectations of that specific run.

Also, I feel that if you do the quest line in normal rather than vet, you may be less likely to run into this problem, but that is just anectodal.

As other say, mention at the start and most people will help. If you say it at the end, we're usually all too busy inspecting loot/trading to see chat.

The only good option for now is to join a friendly guild. I highly recommend doing so, though it shouldn't be necessary. It's silly that this is still an issue after so many years.

People have complained about this for years...let that sink in...Years. Yet and still not a single reply or any acknowledgement from zos. Shameful behavior exhibited by a company that appears more and more to favor monetary gain far more than providing an excellent product.

Yeah there’s really no need to kick you from the instance if everyone leaves, especially when some of the quest endings are quite lengthy.

I’ll always stay until quest completion or keep pace if someone mentions they are completing the quest got to admit if they don’t I generally just rush through.

Considering that ZOS payed someone to write the dialogue, and payed someone to voice act it, you'd think they would offer the opportunity to enjoy it.

How hard is it to go in and change this in the code? Herculean, apparently. It shouldn't even be an issue. Players should have time to finish quests regardless if there are group members still in dungeon.

I'll always hang back if someone asks. It's a matter of respect and courtesy.

If you don't explicitly mention at the beginning or end that you need more time, people won't hang back.

I don't understand those that even when asked, leave. We were all new players once and that should always be respected.

Regardless, it shouldn't even have to be an issue! Why can't ZOS take the time to implement a story mode?

I can understand maybe they don't want too many instances where the dungeon is completed, as that probably makes longer queue times when no dungeon is available.

However, an extension of that time out is necessary.

I don't even know the story for almost all of the dungeons because I have always had to skip dialogue to keep up, and I'm someone who's been doing it for years.

A story mode has been asked for so many times over the years, but always ignored, not even a slight remark from ZOS on the issue.

I don't even know if it's worth asking, they do not listen.

But anyway, you raise a good point that's been raised a lot. Remember to ask and most of the player base will be nice enough to wait. I hope when you're a high level advanced PvE player, you'll hang back for others too.

It's 2019 and ZOS is still allowing this to happen. There should simply be no auto-remove timer on last person in dungeon. They should consider a Leave Dungeon UI Button to appear on the screen when you are the last person so total newbies have an easy out if they don't know how to press P and leave that way.

And yet if you solo group dungeon you can linger there all you want,so why on earth this system even needs to kick player who stays in dungeon after the group disperse.Shouldn’t be more than just small slider change for ZOS to avoid this.

It's hilarious how out of touch developers are... Players have problems to simply finish some quests in group dungeons cause of stupid auto-removal/skip mechanics, let alone listening to all dialogues and reading all the notes, and developers totally ignore these problems - and on top of it they introduce dungeons with lot of side rooms and containers to loot. People almost never go there and loot everything :/

I hate when people actual do give me enough time the whole dungeon, but then at the very end I thank everybody for their patience and leave the instance before talking to the last NPC.

What shall one say...OP is right.

It is an old problem and not likely to ever get fixed.
Just as Solo dungeons is never going to be fixed because...

(my opinion) The Developer Bosses of ESO are interested in three things only...Money...Money and more Money.

Granted...some of the people working on the Game do care...but they are just Employees.

In addition...the original Elder Scroll spirit is slowly being squeezed out of the game and the Fast Food (post 2000) Generation takes over. Who still cares about role play? If you do...sigh... Role Playing Games (like Everquest) are right now not ask for by the majority of players (me thinks).

    Conclusion:
Get to the top as fast a possible and....Brag about it... and buy stuff you really do not need with real money from the Crown store....and die of boredom...and jump to another game. Repeat.

    Have fun all

Thanks op. I didn't realise me leaving at end of dungeon could impact on ppl completing quest even though now I can see that issue is quite obvious. ZOS...rather than rely on player politeness which is RNG...set timer to go on when quest is completed.

It's hit or miss sometimes with pugs.

Last night my Alt ran Arx and the group waited patiently to make sure everyone turned in the quest.

Also last night, my Alt queued specifically for Darkshade II to finish a pledge. After 40 minutes the dungeon popped.

The pug decided they didn't want to run the dungeon and i mentioned i needed the pledge and quest from the dungeon. One by one they all left the group and then the dungeon timer kicked me out.

Another 40 minutes in the queue and i was finally able to finish Darkshades II for the pledge and skill point.

Best to communicate with your group and hope for the best. If they don't agree, they'll either boot you or just bail, lol.

There is no fundamental reason why you are automatically kicked out of the dungeon after everybody leaves, no other mmo does this unless you decide to specifically "leave instance" from the party menu or something. My only theory is ESO have sucky servers and don't want people clogging up the instances.

I always ask if anyone needs to stay in for a bit for whatever reason then I wait. One guy just wanted to run back through to loot crates and such so I ran with him and did the same LOL. So far when I had a quest to turn in at least one person was nice enough to wait. But yeah the NPCs spouting off FOR-EVER is a problem if no one does wait because you'll be booted before they get done yipping so you can finally turn in the quest :/

This game took almost five years to implement character swap on the character select screen or search by word feature on the auction house. And when they finally did introduce the feature, they almost threw themselves a party for doing something.... adding something like solo dungeons is more than likely expecting too much.

I usually just hang out in the dungeon until everyone drops group and I get kicked. That way, if anyone needs time to finish a quest, they can do so.

I've never had issues completing quests, even when pugging (well, except that one time I ran City of Ash II and actually forgot to hand in the quest at the end, but that was my fault...)

I've only been playing for 5 months or so, so newish player here. I've only done a few of the dundeon quests but I ended up rushing through all the prompts and dialog because I didn't want to drag the team down (or have people quit the group). I have just started leaving the quests behind and not picking them up,

Having a solo or story mode would be great to get these quests done on your own pace. It would also be nice to have the option to replay the dungeon story if you wanted to go through it again.

I'm not a huge role play guy but they went to a whole lot of trouble to write a story and record VO for these dungeons. They should encourage people to play them and make it as easy as possible for people to do so.
