Is Sorc : Dark Conversion a heal?

I know it sounds obvious but just want confirmation if Dark Conversion is treated as a heal and thus would it be boosted by the Powered trait on a weapon?

It is a heal. And it's also subject to any healing debuffs that you might have, in addition to the buffs.

CP blessing etc make it go up.

Heavy armor passives boost it
Vitality and mending boost it

In my build, for PvP, it gives me 5133 health after buffs.

It cannot crit

I use dark deal for resource return on my dps mag sorc in just about every game mode. The tweak they made with DB release was mainly doubling the stam cost and doubling the resource gain per cast. This means you can quickly fill up your magicka in half the time it took prior to DB. Very useful between rounds in maelstrom.

I use it in PvP as well, but only between fights to help keep my magicka topped off so that I'm not just constantly out of stam. No stam = dead in PvP

Dark Deal doesnt scale with stats, i cant confirm about any other bonuses, but Im skeptical and havent specifically noticed any changes in the tooltips. My assumption was always no it doesnt. Thats curious if the other morph does..

I tried running it on my no shield sorc but it's just too slow and heals for too little. In no CP I was getting a 4k heal for a 1 second channel, no where close enough to deal with pressure.

That was my experience when i used it leveling way back, but recall it had a slight buff TG or DB.

I just hate running a Restro, and all the passives purely for healing ward

I prefer dual wield on a sorc, and with my load out Destro hits as hard now but better resource mgnt and Kena proc. Thus toying with DW on back bar and need a native heal.

PvE to start, then will move to PvP but am sure it will be ineffective

For PvE crit surge works pretty well. On my stam sorc I practically self sustain in dungeons and nTrials with Crit Surge and Hurricane.

Magicka you could probably use Surge with Lightning form, liquid lightning, and wall of elements, etc. Then proc frags for another 8% health heal or drop Runes for 8% health x 5 (?) heal, on top of your shields ... I haven't played mSorc in months, maybe a year, but it wasn't hard to survive most content (maybe not vMA) by being offensive.

Pets can also provide heals.

@Essiaga Stam Sorc and Mag are in a very different place right now. Sure some people make it work / excel but there's a few struggling. Mag Sorc a year ago was boss, very different now.

I'm after a solution to take to both PvP & PvE. I can survive PvE ok now I just wanna move away from Restro. Surge / LL / LF is ok, but not awesome in a panic / big hit. Tho I've not tried Runes will take a look.

Pets are wicked, but that's an entirely different build with most slots gone. I have a Pet build healer but that doesn't help on my main and again not something you can have huge success with in PvP (again some.do)

I switched from DW to restro last night to try it out, I bit the bullet and shaved off around 300 spell damage on my back bar. I must say though that I am sustaining magika a lot better and able to survive longer. Using a combination of force pulse, endless fury and frags when they proc is about all you need for one on one in pve, they drop after that combo pretty much. I tried it out on some mammoths and giants in Wrothgar and they were falling pretty fast without even getting half way into my magika.

I used the restro bar for shielding and regaining magika mainly and it worked out pretty well in dungeons too.

Wicked @Pepper8Jack that's just what I wanted to hear. I'm going to persevere!

Out of interest what's your Stamina? & Regen? Up to now I have nothing in Stam, just base stat, but with trying Dark Conversion may switch to TriStat food at least. I've known I've needed more Stan for a while anyway to CC break.

For pvp and maelstrom I use tristat food so I'm usually around 13k stam and I have nothing buffing my regen so it's around 600 or so. That's usually more than enough to get a couple CC breaks in before I run out

IN PVE dark conversion is very very good . in raid for exemple , when you have to depack or run or stop dps and run to the add for dps him ect ... you have the time for cast 2/3 dark conversion and gain 30% of mana . but this still low for a skill that we have to cast during 1 sec ... .
AND it's a good heal for PVP ! in PVE you have overkill .
