Well, my experience has been that after you roll dodge and for a limited amount of time, you gain high dodge chance. You don't avoid all projectiles, but you start doing that "lean back & slide" animation and you avoid some.

I'm sure I'm not imagining this. It must have happened to other ppl too right? The caveat is that while you do that animation you can't cast other skills, so you kinda pray you don't get hit by something heavy and get floored during that split second.

EDIT: Actually you can see the animation I'm talking in your video, at about at 11" in :P

That is the game catching up and playing a dodge animation for the attacks that missed you a split second ago.

You can see it when you dodge a single attack (like i often dodge my own dagger after a DK uses reflect while it is mid-flight): dagger comes flying in, i dodge roll, and after the roll animation completed the 'dodge' animation plays.

People are trying to say some major changes need done to shields to balance them but no balance is ever achieved with drastic changes, only small minor shifts.

I don't think anyone is arguing with this. Some people might be afraid that shields will hit live as it is (which is not ok) if they do not speak up and on their effort to do so they are kinda overexaggerating at best or portray a completely false image at worst.

The reason I don't believe that's the case, is because as a sorc (and lover of crystal frag procs) I have learned not to target peeps immediately *after* the dodge roll. They tend to miss more than 80% of the time and waste my precious proc.

I'm better off waiting for 1" and then throwing my proc. Whether that's the game catching up or something, I don't know. But I can very easily record some footage of me throwing a frag at somebody after they finished the roll and they will dodge it while doing the "lean back & slide". It happens to me every night

I've had it hit my Ball lightning on PTS (Nerf Sorc had a few hit my ball of lightning).

That said I did notice it appears to miss the ball lightning more often as I've had several hit me where in the past it always seemed to hit by BoL instead.

Regardless, when I hear the meteor sound I always hold block.

Interesting, cause I tested with my guildies yesterday and it absorbed 0/3

I go for triple protection: 1) Apply Defensive Posture 2) Hold Block 3) Bolt Escape (BoL)

Def Pos alone is not enough as some light attack my trigger it right before the comet hits. The BoL removes the chance of that happening, But I still always block in case all of the above fail me. Better safe than sorry they say.

Yes there is most certainly an immunity period. I have a mental timer that I've honed to perfection when estimating this period while chasing a barrel rolling NB.

There is an immunity period which is very small though. There is even a set that increases it by 0.3s as its 5-piece bonus.

While I agree in principle that shield stacking is an issue I also think that ZoS need to be a bit wary about any changes that are made. Light armour is already much less effective on PTS and at least imo the idea of a "glass cannon" caster is already pretty ropey in this game with it's relatively low range and low damage spells and melee charge abilities. If Light becomes ridiculously unsurvivable then people will just drop it entirely for archer based range skills and heavier armour.

No one is saying that ZOS should nerf damage shields into the ground, only that min/maxed magicka damage builds shouldn't have 25k+ hp worth of cheap fast applying shields that make them immune to crits/procs/dots/enemy ultimate gain/etc WHILE STILL retaining their min/maxed magicka pool damage.

Surely you can see why. If you build a glass cannon you should not wind up with a tank-mage.

People are literally doing 25k+ Damage per hit right now, That means that shield can take 1 hit from certain builds and then the second hit flat out kills you. I should know... I've been hitting 21k DPS in PVP before the NA character wipe.

That 21-25k is both doable by Magicka and Stamina builds

Once again, if there was an immunity period after a dodge roll (long enough to use an ability while still immune, like you claimed), then i could use that period to initiate another dodge roll and i would never take any damage while chaining dodge rolls.

I do this all the time on live. If I'm hit between rolls it is usually a server delay issue. Perhaps you have a latency issue.

There is no 25k magicka possible crit that I'm away off. Either way these are crits and not hits.

There are certain perks in the champion system that allow insane physical damage crits after certain criteria are met but none I saw applied to magick.

They should nerf bolt escape too. F***ing shields everywhere and teleport and mines too. Also Crystal Fragments should no longer stun when procced. Also the sorc finisher is still not blockable - fix plz. Overload does too much dmg. Pets are too strong - you should not be able to release and resummon while they are ccd.
Also negate is still too strong. It should not silence but only provide the buffs.

Can I please remove you from my friends list ? I can't believe, what I was just forced to read O.o from YOU ! I always thought, you were a reasonable resistance fighter and Sorc feminist (like most Sorcs)

But you actually are an insult to all of us !

I assume we all agree that the 1.62 change allowing Ultimate gain and certain class abilities to work on shielded targets are positive ones?

Yeah, the game design would be flawed if ultimate couldn't be generated through shields.

Now that I have my live char again I'll do some more in depth testing (although on a template character with my live gear transferred to take advantage from the 3600 champion points!)

You can just create a template char and should get the points on your live char also as per understanding champ points are accountwide no?

Hrmm, that is an interesting proposition. In theory that should be correct. I'll have to test later tonight. (I'm actually going to test as man of the abilities and maths as I can stand, not to mention the perks)
