Where is the fun, skill or challenge in this?

Random mass zergs with V5+ people running around 2 shotting everyone else while themselfes beeing unkillable.

I fail to see the merit or point in this pathethic excuse for 1k winter masquerading as a PvP System.

Oh, and 20min+ walks back to where you died because burning a camp takes 2 seconds is also a thing. The rewards are incredibly underwhelming, 2 hours of zerg and siege and I get a random green item (useless), some gold (not alot), some points (useless) and 10% exp.

What point qualifys me for personal incompetence when I die before beeing able to perform an action? Beeing crit for 900 two times within a second by a V5 nightblade via auto attack is just one example.

Alot of the times in here you will find yourself spending 90% of your PvP time trying to get to the fight, and then you proceed to be instant gibbed by high level players.

I see now that pvp here is only intended for those above 50 already.

No, but if you are not level 50 you will get better results if you stick to fighting other players who also are not level 50. You have stealth, try to avoid fights that are not in your favor.

It should not be possible for high level players to farm lowies.

Just remove Cryodil already and add some BGs with level instancing.

Yesterday me and my GF (levels 11 and 10) jumped a VR2. He almost died before Bolt Escaping to cry to his mommy.
It was the best highlight of a very fun evening made of epic attacks and defences, ambushes, lucky escapes and frustrating defeats.
The reward for PVP is having fun. Your comments make me believe that
    A) AvA is not the right type of PVP for you
    B) You PVP for rewards not for the fun of PVPing
Putting these two things together means this is not the right game for you. Go and try Neverwinter, I heard they have some really fun BG PVP there...not.

EDIT: Actually your last phrase makes me think that you are simply just another under-the-bridge dweller.

The fun in an MMO comes from the rewards, and indeed, if it wasn't for the nice overall other game, I would have left by now.

There is two things that really need to be fixed by the game in order to make it competitive for the future:

    - a normal and good pvp system (involing no npcs, no siege weapons and decent rewards)
    - a fair and customizable interface that gives you access to all information you need including enemy damage, debuffs and cast bars.

in my opinion i REALY like the Huge battle field the stealthing arround and ambushes and even the huge zerg fights

but the game needs Small scale PvP also..............

    smaller battlegrounds or anything....

PvP is fine. Its been 2 weeks. In a month 95% of everyone in there will be 50+. Play smart, do not chase the enemy. Stay at range. Never assume someones alone. Just keep pouring that oil=$$. The long run backs are what makes it great. Makes getting killed mean something. If they take that away they need to add gear damage upon death.

So you got your butt handed to you by a nightblade. Instead of figuring out how to beat them, you complain on the forums.

You are the type of person that ruins every mmo. And no im not a nightblade. But i do know how to block/stunbreak and make them my B****

after 50 you can buy pvp sets with points, before vr1 you cant even see them at the vendor but they are there. The green loot you get has a chance to be a part of the set (you can upgrade it to purple and you wont have to buy it). Green loot you get is always your level.

I have to give a credit to AD pack of Vampires with VR10 Night Mistress leading them (seriously VR10 10 days after the official release?).

I am sure forums would then be filled with nerf requests instead of the usual whining. Oh wait, they already are, nevermind.

Now, if they implement an Arena type setting for players who want to duke it out 1vs1 or in small teams, I'm all for it - as long as they also allow spectating, betting and throwing garbage at the combatants.

Last I checked, the RvR was for max level characters. The fact that it auto levels you to 50 is a pretty good indicator. Its been like this in every single game that has WvW/RvR. Every single one.

Now, if they go with the low level BG/Arena type thing. One of two things will happen:

    1. You'll cry about twinks ruining your pvp, because you bet your ass people will twink, farm skill lvls, and cap all skyshards (even the high lvl zones)

    2. You'll be one of those twinks that avoids the high lvl pvp, as big boy land is to much for you to handle.

Cyrodiil is designed to be the PVP endgame for max level characters. the level bolster mechanic actually lets you compete until then. yes it sucks to die to people higher level than you but just keep pushing forward and leveling up. Eventually you will be max level to.

As for the tactics, just try going somewhere else or not alone if you know a spot is being camped by a tougher enemy.

I am cuurently level 31 and can take on mid 40s. I can take a 50+ yet but I give them a good fight.

    1. I'd much much rather fight a twink with farmed skyshards and skills than a veteran level 5 guy killing me within a second without recurse.

    2. no, I just want to do some pvp before hitting 50 without beeing completly useless

You are not completely useless, you can have a fair fight with anyone 15 levels in your range. if you are with a few friends you can kill anyone. I have watched 2 level 20s take on 50+ players and win. run with a group and you can do just about anything. If you are solo Use your sneak and avoid much higher level players.

@kewljag_66_ESO a twink is a forced level power toon. So if say there are BG that have a level range of 11-19 they will get to lvl 19 and then get the absolute best possible gear and skills for that level. Like seriously put 100's of hours into making lvl 19 gear. They never level the char and just demolish anyone that comes through the arena and they muahahaha all day long.

Beyond that, there are a lot of things you can do in Cyrodil that don't require you to fight 1on1 with VR5 people.

Pilot siege weapons, scout ahead in stealth, run with a small group or duo. Its about strategy, this ENTIRE game is about strategy.

Everyone that says this game isn't like other MMO's is completely correct. The ones that say it SHOULD be like other MMO's are delusional, this is this game, those are those games. They don't have to mimic each other.

Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

Thanks for the info. I understand having a twink in an area with people that level but what would be the point of making a twink in Cyrodiil and putting yoru self at a disadvantage against higher level people. or did I miss something about what was being said...

    - a fair and customizable interface that gives you access to all information you need including enemy damage, debuffs and cast bars.

The system is fair – everyone has the same lack of information you do. Learn to read the visual cues in game instead of relying on scrolling numbers to understand what's going on.

This is intended to be a realistic version of combat, where you have to observe what is going on and make decisions based on your observations (not based on a number in a box).

And yes, it is chaotic. Battle is chaos.
Life of a Nightblade (Screenshot Tumblr)

Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.

@kewljag_66_ESO I believe the comment was against having small scale pvp in ESO as that would cause there to be people twinking and then even more threads like this one about being "unfairly" killed in 1v1.

I feel your criticism is a bit premature considering you only listed a couple of rewards for partaking in PvP. You can add:
    • Guilds can setup auction houses in keeps they control.
    • You get bonuses for controlling keeps/scrolls that apply to PvP & PvE.
    • Controlling a keep near an town in Cyrodiil provides a sense of control of that town as you'll have friendly NPC guards patrolling it.
    • Gaining AP also gives you experience in the assault/support skill lines, opening new skills and passives.
    • Becoming Emperor grants you huge personal PvP bonuses that continue, to a lesser extent, even after you lose the title.
    • It's fun to fight players and siege defended keeps, and both activities grant you AP, which helps you become Emperor.

I think it would do you, or anyone in your position, some good to wait it out a bit before declaring the uselessness of PvP in ESO. Campaigns will fill up, everyone will be level 50, and things will get much more interesting. It'll also give you time to learn the mechanics of things.

That is unless, of course, your sole interest is constant immediate gratification and nothing less will do. Shooters are probably better at offering that experience. Persistent PvP is better at offering a sense of danger in combat and long-term purpose in game mechanics.

    Edit: Thought of another incentive.

Not at all. I am level 29.and am able to assist any group I am with in getting kills. I am also getting good at sneaking away when the odds become overwhelming. It's all to do with practice. I've been going into Cyrodiil since level 10. If you wait until level 50 before you go in you will still get p0wnd.

    - Irrelevant
[*] Gaining AP also gives you experience in the assault/support skill lines, opening new skills and passives.
    - All of these skills are waste of skill points
[*] Becoming Emperor grants you huge personal PvP bonuses that continue, to a lesser extent, even after you lose the title.
    - Gotta have no life to even get close to that. I actually view that as a negative, too, since it means whoever has the least life needs even less skill to kill ppl.
[*] It's fun to fight players and siege defended keeps, and both activities grant you AP, which helps you become Emperor.
    - Arguably not, at least for me.

In conclusion none of these points are valid.
