Unable to dismiss the Announcements on the Forums

I'm usually able to click an X at the upper right corner of the Announcements on the Forums, but today that X is not there. There is a huge block of Announcements today and I'd really like to dismiss them.

I hope this is just a glitch and not a new feature.

i rarely if ever see the announcements because the no thank you addon blocks the announcement window entirely lol

I'm not able to dismiss it, but I usually don't dismiss it, anyway. It's a non-issue.

It's an issue for me because I usually read the forums on my phone and it's taking up half the screen.

Don't know if that helps any to find the error, but the issue seems to be just in the english forum, when I checked the german forum part the "x" to close the announcements is there.

I went to the German forums and was also able to dismiss it there. But when I came back to the English forums the Announcements are still there and no way to dismiss them.

I often view the forums on a mobile device, and — assuming you're referring to the big blue box full of announcements at the top of the page — you just have to scroll down to no longer see the announcements.

It'd be a much bigger issue if it scrolled with the window, but thankfully it's just fixed in place at the top of the page.

It may not be a glitch, but a new standard. Maybe it's being tested on the English forums first. For all we know, maybe being able to close the notification on the other forums is the bug. Until we hear otherwise, we can't assume what is an "obvious glitch" and what is a new feature.

Amazing how people dismiss any concerns if they don't personally care about them. Removing a feature is not good.

Different area, but I was unable to interact with Mundus Stones in my guild's house just now. Breaking things that are working and not catching that shows that QA is not that solid.

I will note that I sometimes wish I could easily re-see an announcement I have dismissed, but having the glaring thing in the way is not a good solution.

I have a chrome addon that does that. I don't care though, it can stay. I wouldn't use my phone as a computer personally....

Look up. This is not in the game.

The announcement is at the top of the page, and we typically close it by clicking on an X in the top right corner.

If there's the possibility of it being a new feature, then we can't say for sure what the intention behind the change is. Unannounced changes like these happen all the time, especially in ESO itself. Many of those changes stick around, despite bug reports, and we just have to assume that they're either low priority bugs or unannounced features.

What concerns are there? On desktop and mobile, you only have to scroll down to get to the content you want to read. The announcement box only takes up space on the top of the web page — it's easily ignored by browsing the website as usual. I fail to understand why this is such a pressing issue.

I assume it's a glitch and not a new feature because that would be one strange '"feature" to add to a forum.

Regardless of what it is, it is NOT unreasonable to ask for clarification and report it.

They're minuscule screens that use a lot more data than my desktop does. I guess if you're stuck with that, you get by with what you have....

I connect to our wifi so I'm not charged for any data. I have a nice custom desktop (we've been building our own for over 20 years now) but I like to use my phone when I want to stretch out on the couch and read the forums.
