Another event, another new style page that can only drop once a day with low drop rate

As the title say. Mindless grinding is never fun, and people probably have other things they want to spend tickets on.

Yet as usual the style pages got low drop rate, I haven't even had a single one drop yet. I remember when we had once a day style pages but the first 1-2 boxes was guaranteed the style page.

I've gotten three and I missed one day of the event. Maybe I'm lucky, maybe this event isn't so bad. Regardless, I do agree that poor drop chances on event style pages is a bad idea. It makes people give up doing events, not spend more time in them.

I also do not like this "one page per day" trend. But I'm already used to opening purple coffers only until I get one. Once it's done, the rest of the coffers wait for the next day.

This is tiring. How do we even know when the cooldown for getting motifs is over? Is there a countdown somewhere that I'm missing or am I just expected to track the exact time everyday that I get a motif?

Agree with this; I usually do like @ESO_player123 and hoard a bunch the first few days, opening them as I need to, then just do a single quest per day after that for tickets. The only reason they’re getting more activity from me for this event is because I needed stickerbook stuff for every zone involved, especially for World Boss pieces. 🙃 Needless to say that’s pretty situational, and not a permanent thing.

As they are getting tighter with these things, all it does is make me less interested in collecting them. I assume that is the opposite of what they intend.

I'm not even going for the Bristleback Hunter style. But I've gotten 1 of the style pages.I'm only interested in those Maelstrom and Old Orsinum styles, I've been doing vet maelstrom arena everyday for those Maelstrom style pages but I've only gotten 1 drop so far. I am so frustrated. I only get junk or maybe some purple motif I already own. The green companion item that I got once was so insulting. I hate that this game does not reward effort but fomo instead. I'ts super frustrating

I stopped bothering with the event-specific outfit styles quite some time ago. I am not inclined to grind a glorified lottery for a style I am probably not even going to use.

For one to do that you need an easy way to get boxes that is hopefully not too grindy. You also easily end up using up your whole "stockpile" of boxes in one day because of the low drop rate. Been there, done that.

It's been like thus for a long time. No one should be surprised. Just my opinion, but I feel it's because we have purchasable event tickets.

I learned a long time ago to just give them away. It is frustrating and I don't play this game to be unhappy.

I take pleasure in giving them to people who really want them.

I've gotten four pages during the event, and three of them were the same. If the drop rate has been decreased, the least ZOS could do is curate them, so you don't get repeats.

(I stopped trying to get all the pages a few events back. I don't even buy them from the event vendor anymore.)

I think it's fine how it is, the perfect balance maybe too. See in the old days I would farm these events for the sake of farming them. Because I was new and mainly because I am into housing in a big way, so I would farm for the furnishing mats mainly.

This would lead to me getting a surplus of the style pages because there was no daily limit to them back then. I would get many every day and because this was the case, they really had no value on the guild stores, if I remember correctly.

Now they limit it to one a day it does give them a bit of a worth on the guild stores - I think.

I don't farm these events anymore. All I do is log in, do one quest for the tickets and then log out. Doing this, so far this event I have got 3 pages - I must have VERY good luck, you may think.

However, it is still easy to farm these pages if you REALLY want to. You have 2 options as I see it. Run through the dailies on alts or simply farm the purple boxes from gather nodes (you usually get 1 box every 5 mins) or the other sources.

So why did I say I think it's the perfect system now? Well, you can still get the pages yourself, you just have to put in the work to get 1 each day. If you play like me and only work for the tickets you can still get them for free with a bit of luck and simply buy the rest you are missing after the event. This also rewards those who are farming the event for both fun and rewards because they can now sell any of their extras.

Thats why I say I think it's finally the perfect balance imo.

You may get doubles of the style pages and not the full set from your daily pages and not have the full set at the end. Again, I think that is fine, it all adds to the trade system in the end. You can trade with other players or simply sell your doubles and buy the ones you need. This is what I do, and I think this is the intent from ZOS.

Yeah, the droprate on the style pages makes me not want to play an event at all. It makes events suck terribly and feels bad. Even worse is when the style does NOT drop at all and you spend hours farming the questzones for a first-of-the-day style drop.

The current droprate is highly against players only playing one account, and favors those having multiple accounts to gather style drops for their main account/to sell. The droprate for event styles should have a cooldown, but not a 20h one, a 4h cooldown on the style droprate would be more fair to everyone and would not be heavily biased towards multiple account players. But this may be exactly what ZOS wants, people buying more accounts.

The whole idea of events should be to get players to play during the event and enjoy the event, not to spam multiple accounts for a first-of-the-day style drop to sell.

I hear you brother. The drop rates are frustrating. I’ve granted, I’ve gotten about 3 to drop myself, 2 I bought with tickets but that was only after extensive farming. The others I purchased from Guild stores for about 30k a pop on average.

So far, drop rates from the glorious IC coffers have been fairly high for me. (I've gotten a style page every day so far). I realize IC isn't going to work for a lot of people but if it does it may improve the situation for some.

Just goto IC,up the arena ladder, get quest, and wait til others save imperials, takes longer, but no PVP needed, lol.Stay in the glowy area so nothing can hurt you,and go do something else while you wait, shold take about 20-30 minutes, sometimes longermdepends on alliance, and how fast things spawn.

Got four from gold containers, bought 2 with spare event tickets, bought one off guild traders for 40K. Problem solved. No worries.

I agree that ZOS should not be so stingy with their RNG. It's one of the bigger problems with the ESO game design IMO. But, on the upside, the style pages are dropping at a high enough rate that those who farm events are getting plenty of them to sell. If you check guild stores you'll see that most pages are selling for less than 40k and the price is going down fast.

I don't understand why ZOS has such atrociously low RNG for everything, especially in crown crates, but that's how they do it.

In the first 5 days of the event I got four belts and a day with no new style page dropping at all. Thankfully I traded the duplicates but it is frustrating to grind for ages only to get the same one over and over.

I've stopped being concerned about the lack of event style page drops. I've come to see them as nothing more than a FOMO gimmick to try to sell event tickets in the Crown Store. If I get a unique page that is great but if not it is no big loss. Depending upon where I am in acquiring the season's rewards pieces I might purchase a style page if I need to burn tickets but that is the only extra effort I put into it.

I must admit I am not fussed about most style pages either., though I did make the extra effort to get all of the ones from the last event as I liked it enough to use it when my toon is in colder zones. Most of my grinding is for motifs for writs.

My personal RNG in ESO has always been trash, especially during events. I do 1 quest for my tickets and then just buy the event drops on traders when I find them cheap. Makes the game so much more enjoyable.

ive not really been worried about the style page though, im more doing this to get the double siegemaster coffers from the dailies + the IC gear drops from the event boxes

i think ive gotten 3 bristleback pages and 2 legion zero vigiles pages

Yes, once again the drop ratio it's kinda low.
I only got a couple so far but I'm not really worried. I've decided long ago not to grind. This isn't my 2nd job, it's just a game.

That's impossible since the new style is one drop per day. And across 13 characters? Did you miss the not having to mindlessly grind?

Maybe it shouldn't, but I've gotten several of the Bristelback items in a single day. Not saying I enjoy it
