My expectations for Character/account skyshard unlocks was to promote alt play, & in-turn player invests more into the game overtime with new class driven xpacs, alts, sub, etc...if alt play means no-lifer do the same content X amount of times or spend $100 to play catch-up, well pass, continue play my main & not waste money on xpacs like the necro.
Yes, you already know these pack costs will sit either side of a Crowns pack size as well right? Just like EA.
E.G. A SS pack could cost 1250 crowns because you can only buy 750 or 1500 crowns, forcing you into buying the 1500, or higher - It's a scummy tactic they all use these days.
Your expectations were the same as nearly every advocate's but we'll see.
So, they're 800 and you can buy 750 crowns. I'm not surprised one bit.
That's one of the dirtiest tactics all these companies are using atm.

You realize you don't need to buy them in the crown store, right? People have been actually going to skyshards and using them for 5 years...
I think crown store skyshards are a bad idea not because of the price, but because of what kind of incentives it gives. IMO it's a huge mistake to allow people to just make a maxed toon and get at it. It fundamentally changes the game into a fortnite-style game where character progression doesn't matter, everyone's the same level and you just pick your gear and stats. I understand why people would want that, I just don't think ZOS should have given it to them.15 -

✭✭✭✭✭Well, as long as it is totally optional - I am fine with that. Keep in mind that you need to unlock coresponding skyshard achievmnt on at least one character to be able to buy skyshards. Personally I would rather use skyshards addon, that shows the skyshards on map.
And a small advise - if you are planning to buy skyshards like that, I would focus on Cyrodill skyshards, as those are hardest to get.0 -

OMG. 11,700 Crowns? So you need to buy the 14k Crown pack if you're a new player who want this. That's £74.99! Just so a new player can be an Altmer in the DC for example?
What is happening to this game!? And why are so many people reacting to these Skyshard prices with "Yeah, this seems fair"? Guys, this is PER CHARACTER. They're asking for over 20k Crowns, which is over £120 per character. And the majority of you are happy with this decision!?

I can understand that, but to be honest, grabbing the skyshards behind enemy gates has been great fun every time I've done it. And we're talking about 4 skyshards, so less than 2 skill points total. Every other skyshard you can get relatively easily if you gear up and sneak going in and out of delves.0 -

I wanted only ability to create characters in any alliance, and I used to think that current "any race" upgrade was pricey at 1900 crowns... Now I see that it was very good deal
If I was a new player who simply wants to create characters in any alliance no matter their race, I would be forced to buy the new bundle at such insane price just because it also includes items which I might not be interested in at all. I can buy service token separately if I need, and I would have no use for these Alliance specific cosmetics
It would be much better to leave mounts, pets, costumes, hats, service tokens, and "any alliance" upgrade separated.
As for skyshards price, based on general store pricing, I thought they would cost like 3000 crowns per zone; so current price is surprisingly "low". But still, I won't buy them for more than 1000 crowns per character for all skyshards (or at max 100 crowns per zone, in that case I would buy just Cyrodiil and IC ones for some alts)

Happy's putting it a bit strongly. I'm, at best, ambivalent. If you want to play a character out of alliance, you need to spend 2k crowns. Given a starting account has 5k, that's a $15 additional charge, or your first month of ESO+. So, if you want it, it's not that out there.
As a new player, you cannot buy those skyshards. You need to have gone out and collected the skyshards on one character before you can buy them for another. Which also means, you can go out and collect them again instead of buying them.1 -
